After looking at published photos from the murder scene, it appears that it went down like this:
Carey's car is forced to stop - surrounded by gunmen.
Gunmen likely remove child from car (as per most witnesses).
Carey exits her car - likely to protect child.
Five yards from the car, Carey is shot in the face (blood at yellow tag #12).
After cops have placed plenty of yellow markers, Carey, sporting two IVs, is leisurely wheeled away on a gurney.
I'm not going to call you names or anything like that. There is one problem with your argument. Yes they did refrain from using deadly force initially, but they also got a chance to take a close look at who they were dealing with. (1)They knew there was a baby in the car from the video you presented. (2)The also didn't see any firearms. (3)They could with good probability speculate that the driver was not in her right mind. What would cause a mother with a child in the car to do what she did? First guess would be either under the influence of something or mental disability. They should have been trained to assess that much just from this little tidbit of video. Once they had the vehicle stopped and she obviously was not attempting to flee in the vehicle there was no need to open fire on her. This clearly was a poor decision on their part and it should initiate debate on the proper response of a situation like this. For one we have way to many people out there on psychotropic medications. If they aren't factoring this in we can expect a lot more of incidents such as this where deadly force could be avoided with proper assessment training. If we do nothing else from this we need to put pressure on LE to implement training to deal with situations like this to prevent an unnecessary death. This death could have been avoided!! I fault the training the officers receive. There is more to being a good Law Enforcement Officer than knowing how to shoot! There are alternatives to psychotropic drugs to treat mental illness. The affects of these medications on certain individuals show that these medications should only be administered under closely monitored situations. If someone decides to just quit taking the drugs could result in a similar situation. They are not a safe treatment for members of society.
This is the 5th post by this POS poser supporting the murder of this poor woman. I believe his intent is to systematically defame this wonderful site by repeatedly posting this hateful, insensitive and untruthful crap. I would hope the moderators would take notice and ban him. Just check out his recent posts and comments about her being a terrible mother and deserving to die and how the cops were only protecting themselves.

They could have shot all four of her tires out easily and perforated her radiator. I`m calling it cold blooded murder!
It reminds me of Waco when they already had built a fence around the Davidians church grounds therefore rendering them imprisoned.
It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

In the heat of the moment, the Capitol Police spaced on the fact that people are routinely subdued these days with tasers.
Therefore - SHOOTING AND MURDERING someone that was clearly not any kind of threat - immediate or otherwise - was the only possible option.
Because running and physically tackling an unarmed woman clearly freaking out and fleeing in sheer terror is way too much work.
at the time and place shown in the video. But that is totally irrelevant to the time and place she was killed. Showing us the opportunities the cops had to shoot this woman but did not sheds no light or justification on the situation when the woman was killed.
USA Today reported the woman was killed while trying to flee from her car. Other reports indicate the car was stopped, indicating the woman was shot sitting behind the wheel. That is the incident you must justify.
how is that trying to avoid killing her? They tried at one incident at the very beginning. Did they try again after she got out of the vehicle? Did someone try and tackle her when she was running from her vehicle? Im pretty sure they just started firing and that is nowhere near counting as "tried to avoid killing her"
trying to convince folks that this wasn't an execution. Why is it so important to you that we view what was done as justified?

The car was obviously taken over by the same people who took over Hasting's car. ;-)
is to not shoot at them. Unless she grabbed the trigger and pulled it, there is nothing whatsoever she could have done to "make" the police shoot her. They enjoy murdering people and got another opportunity. (period)
Your outline of your video clip does NOT shed any light on anything. Your printing across the screen obstructs its viewing and your rambling is irrelevant.
question? could it be that cops are just looking for trouble and turn innocent misadventure into a killing spree? If the cops would have just let her go without giving chase endangering everyone in the process, where is the harm?
shot by this poser. TROLL ALERT!
For a car that supposedly tried ramming some bollards -it is in pretty damn good shape - not a single dent.
Which begs the question - if the cops are just trying to help - why lie?
they knew she was unarmed.

Ok first off it's a 2 door coupe it doesn't have a back door to the infant, he was trying to open the drivers door where she was. Also the cops claimed they didn't know there was a child in the car and they started firing at the vehicle immediately after this section. Which obviously if they knew a child was in the car, shooting at the car would be very dangerous for the child. Right?
The woman was being chased by cop cars when she entered the circle the wrong way, realized it when another car traveling in the correct direction cut her off, and she attempted to turn around at that barrier point where the cop cars tried to cut her off.
By somebody who's mind is wholly owned by established thinking, or mentally challenged.
Like trying to open a door excuses opening fire.
Then makes believe that since a back door(?) is trying to be opened that that must mean it is an attempt to save a baby.
Didn't see any back door on that car. The guy states that one of the cops is trying to open the back door on the driver's side to get out the infant but I don't see any "back door". Looks like a 2-door coupe to me. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I still don't see why they had to shoot the woman as she runs on foot away from her car...
Beware the cult of "government"...
I played the section of the video showing the cop on the right reaching for the door handle and I stopped it when the car was turned and I could clearly see there was only the drivers door - only one door handle on that side. So the whole idea that the cop was trying to rescue the baby is baloney!
Also, the restraint of the cops at that point was proper, what makes no sense is that after the officers were out of view of the camera and the car had sped away that you can hear shots fired (about six). Why would they shoot at a distance at a moving target with so many people around?
Then, later when she gets out of the car, why didn't they just tackle her instead of shoot her down?
Anyway you look at it, there was no excuse for gunning her down! This poster, did a good job showing the attempt of the officers to open the doors, but he failed to notice there no back door, which led to a false conclusion and an excuse for the cops when there is none.
Wish there was video of the end of the event.
One more point, I thought that in this country we had compassion for the mentally handicapped? I thought we took measures to handle them with kid gloves because they may not be aware of what they are doing?
