Mt. Rushmore covered by large tarp

The National Park Service has issued the following directive.

In keeping with President Obama’s order to shut down all National Parks we have decided to drape the monument with a large tarp.

We do this reluctantly but the only other option was to arrest anyone who viewed the monument and strike out their eyes.

We truly believe this option is the most feasible and humane, even though the expense of the tarps, $23,000,000.00, is vastly higher than having our officers, (who by the way overwhelmingly were in favor of the second option being instituted), enforce the second option.

Many thanks: http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2013/10/07/a-pretty-cool...

Would be much easier to attache a tarp at the top and roll it

down and over.

And THAT is the only reason I was certain this story was not true.

The stupidity of doing it, the general nastiness by the US government, and the cost were absolutely credible.

But the logistics of keeping two helicopters aloft (and fueled) were the only part of this story that didn't seem credible.

I went to the National Park Service

website to verify this vile act but alas they are shutdown. On a serious note, does anyone know what oath these civil servants take. How they can look at themselves in the mirror while acting as thugs is beyond me.

Even in the snow, police attempt to prevent Rushmore viewing

Plan is to fill the Grand Canyon with dirt.

Dirt from DC. There's a call out to Paul Bunyan to come help.

If covered, the cheesey

If covered, the cheesey bastage would probably have a surprize engraving of his own mug done.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Some kook on the internet made it.

I'm guessing it was supposed to be flattering...

The national parks are still

The national parks are still owned by all the people, not exclusively by the Federal Government Corporation.

Common ownership is a myth.

The Feds own and control it entirely.

Congress has "exclusive jurisdiction" over that land per Article I § 8.

What should have happened, or should happen now, is for the Congress to relinquish jurisdiction to the State(s) where the parks and monuments lie. In some cases, States assented to ceding the land to the Congress. In those States, the respective legislatures should simply revoke the grant to the Congress, and resume full stewardship.

After the States take jurisdiction back over the parks and monuments, they can draft an interstate compact that guarantees they are preserved for and continue to be open with access to all Citizens regardless of State residence. Since Congress has to approve this compact, the various State governments can put pressure on their respective Senators and Representatives to approve it, and a big selling point is that it is a "solution" which prevents something like this in the future, removes public lands from the dictates of a single executive, and removes a financial burden from the Treasury.

Congress isn't likely to give up power and jurisdiction, but if a compact is offered as an alternative, and since Congress already is keen to reopen the parks over Heir Ohama's Iron Fist, I'd say it has a pretty decent chance of being approved.

Wait

so this story is bs? lol. You fooled me but it is believable man. It really is.

I'm all for it. Just cut a hole for Jefferson's face.

The rest should have been covered up long ago.

I could let Washington slide.

But Teddy and Abe have to go.

LOL you got me!

The sad thing is it's totally believable based on everything else they doing.

I don't know what's funnier - this post or the fact that so many

The fact that anyone

could take this post seriously shows how far over the cliff our Government has thrown us.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

Obama still has time to order tarps. Who is to say that they

won't cover Mt Rushmore with tarps. After all, they want this shut down to be as difficult as possible for all of us. I think they need to cover the White House with a tarp.

A.Hansen

Chessienut gave them the idea.

We can blame him. LOL.

They aren't tarps...

They are burkas.
