Help Needed Please

My poor ole grandpa is a stubborn mule and still believes that we can't let the "terrorists" win in Iraq. Here is his written response to me requesting him to support Ron Paul...

"Ron Paul would be very easy to support except for one main exception. That being his pledge to pull out of Iraq. He is honest and will do what he says he will do. I do like him and appreciate his honesty but can not even imagine what it would do to the over three thousand families that have lost someone in Iraq fighting for what I and most of them feel is a worthy cause. We can not surrender that country to the terrorist under any condition, It may have been better if we had left Saddam in place but that is history and we are there and do have to complete this mission."

There is of course the whole the troops support Ron Paul. Can you guys help me out? I think I need to approach this from every angle there is against the war. He listens to Fox religiously but I have faith that it isn't too late.

Plus this could be a good place to put links that help support Ron Paul and our position on the war. Thanks

Heed advice of our Iraqi friends

Decent people have a right and duty to declare war against governments torturing and murdering innocent populations, and RP was right to introduce a resolution declaring war against Iraq, so that Congress could have decided whether we had the will to depose Saddam. He is gone now, however. Last September, Judge Rahdi al-Rahdi resigned as head of Iraq's Commission on Public Integrity, and came to the USA to report that we are no longer helpful to his country, because the government we are supporting is immersed in corruption. We may as well come home now, and save the expense. (Is it nearly $1000 per American citizen per year???)

I went through the same

I went through the same thing tonight with a foxjunky friend. The terrorist thing is so ingrained it's unbelievable. I reminded him we went in there under false pretences. And why are we using depleted uranium? This is evil. If we're in there to help, why have we killed nearly 1M Iraquis? The majority of US soldiers support RP over the other candidates. This is probably why people are voting Democarat because they see the Repblicans an extention of The Bush regeime. Which they are except for our man RP. That's one reason I think RP is the only one to beat Billary. Little do they know, Billary is an extention herself. Bush is preparing the white house for her now,

Anyway, we need some more input on this subject because I run into it often myself.

By the way, what happened to
Bin Laden?

Don't forget who the military gives the most donations to..

That ought to say something.

Welfare

Iraq is stabilized but it refused to form a government and take care of itself.
Its become a welfare issue, it will NOT stand up and support itself unless we force it to. ALL of the middle east will be force to stand up and support itself during a Ron Paul Presidency. No more handouts!

Honorable Wars Only

All servicemen and servicewomen would only ever want to actually fight an honorable fight. Either with another person in the street or on the battlefield. This war was sold to us under the premise that it was for our own safety. Since that time we've learned every reason we went to war was a lie.

There was no honor to go into Iraq. The honorable thing to do now would be leave and apologize the whole way home. The damage is done but staying there is actually making things worse. We all know that we aren't in there for Iraq now. We are there for money. There is nothing honorable about that.

I know...

...that these three thousand families don't want any other families to go through the grief and pain that they have. They may want to try and rationalize it, or justify it so that they can feel that their loved one's life wasn't wasted in vain...but at the end of the day they know that they don't want the families of their comrades...their brothers/sisters in arms' wives, husbands, children, parents, siblings to go through that pain. The only way to guarantee that is to bring us home.

Well

Having one brother that has died there, and with two children currently deployed, I'd honestly be a little pissed about someone assuming they would know what ~We the families~ want. Why are we not asked? Here's an easy answer... what WE want isn't popular. By the way, I'm from a family that has had members serve in every war since the Civil one. What is currently going on right now is not a war, and everyone knows it deep down. what ~We the families~ want is for the United States to pull it's head out of its ass and come home before we're even MORE hated universally than we are now.

Just the thoughts from one of the ~Families~.... blah.

I stand and applaud

your words. I think they respond to the argument perfectly. Come home, and stop displaying the arrogance that we somehow magically know how another sovereign nation should govern itself.

admiringly yours,

Thank you
