Giant Pyramid Tied To Atlantis Found In Ocean

Researchers are baffled at how a pyramid 60 meters tall and with a square base wider than a football stadium ended up at the bottom of the Atlantic.

It's getting so you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an...

.....ancient pyramid on the ocean floor. In fact, just last week we hit several ancient pyramids while at the 9th Annual Cat Swing-a-thon ( Underwater Category ).

funny you mention that

i actually took 3rd place in the fling a cat to pyramid toss last week.

It's global warming, duh!

It's global warming, duh!

Sea levels have risen hundreds of feet since the last ice age

Look where the vast majority of people are living now, along the coast lines. It would seem logical that people over 10,000 years ago or maybe much longer also lived along the sea shores. As the water levels rose the ancient ports and shore areas flooded, the people retreated to higher ground, leaving any evidence of their developments under water. Archaeologists have mainly been limited to digs that are above water level, so I believe the really ancient history has long been under sea level. There is a huge missing time gap in human history that we know very little or anything about. Whole civilizations could have lived and developed only to be lost under the sea and left very little trace evidence.

plausible. however we better be talking a lot longer than 10,000 years ago. since sea level was only about 130 ft lower. now 25k or 100k years ago then we'd be talking thats when ur gonna see sealevels 300+ feet lower. and anthropologically speaking human form has been the way it is currently for about 500k years give or take

They're so stupid they can't even figure out what causes Autism

Researchers are stupid retards. There, fixed it for ya.

Human civilization is older than many people think.

Assuming that the so-called "pyramid" is in fact real, that would just be yet another underwater ruin of an old empire. While really cool, it's not exactly earth-shaking.

This could be Atlantis, or it could just as easily be some random civilization victimized by the Flood - or some civilization victimized by rising sea levels after the end of the last Ice Age, or Lord knows what else. Or, to a cynic like me, it could just as easily be a random underwater formation that happens to be vaguely shaped like a pyramid.

re: civilization...

Researchers are baffled, huh? Is it near the Millenium Falcon?

Researchers are baffled, huh? I'm sure they are. Listen: Is it near the Millenium Falcon? Remember the time they found the millenium falcon at the bottom of the Baltic Sea?

Anyway, I found the "pyramid" quite easily using Google Maps. Its off the western shore of the Azores Island of Terceira. There is a jumble of elevations between that island and the isle of Graciosa to the northwest of it. Its not the lone peak on a small plain but due east of it, at the northwestern-most foot of the jumble.

It does look pyramidal, if a bit too trapezoidal. One little problem (among a myriad of others): its surrounded by underwater elevations, including one that juts right into it on the northwestern angle.

Pyramid hunters ought to remember: all pyramids and ziggurats and manmade mounds are done in places with NO mountains or hills or high points. THAT'S THE WHOLE BLEEDIN' POINT OF GOING THROUGH THE TROUBLE!

IF there was a mountain alongside the Nile or Tigris, it would have become the sacred place instead of a manmade mountainous structure.

And yet, there are still gullible dimwits who think there's a big pyramid in Bosnia-Herzegovina, surrounded on all sides by similar hills and mountains. I reckon they're the same folks I see at the bus stop in the morning, smiling away for no particular reason.

How very AMUSING some people can be.

The location of the pyramid is between

Terceira and São Miguel, according to this article by the Portugese-American Journal. http://portuguese-american-journal.com/terceira-pyramidal-st...

While it's true that the landscape in any given place may have changed from ancient times to the present (as per comments here), until we better understand the true purpose of pyramids we won't know to what extent a particular type of topography is important (or not).

Since you seem to get a kick out of the idea of pyramids being located in Europe/Bosnia - that is, the Pyramid of the Sun (larger than any other pyramid in the world) and four other pyramids in the same valley - I thought this might be fun for you to see: a presentation by Semir Osmanagić, the man who discovered them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6UeYdScGhw

I actually thought you were

I actually thought you were amusing. In times of incredible earth upheavals, mountains are formed and seas disappear and land masses appear and disappear. All that long time ago, that pyramid could have been in a flat desert. Sheesh

That pyramid in Bosnia is

That pyramid in Bosnia is actually there. Yes, it was made from a mountain that was already there, but the evidence that people had something to do with it is still there; they arnt simply going by the shape and calling it a pyramid.
And dont mention Hawass here, he was enough of a problem as is. Great at promoting himself and what he thought. They canned him already.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

What the hell is....

an "Aluminum Falcon"?!

Love this stuff

Thank you I love this stuff. I will be going on Google earth to take a look at the area.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Bump. Thanks

It probably wasn't the bottom of the ocean when the thing got built...

He's the man.

LOL. Wish I had seen this
