What is wrong with you people?

I can't take this anymore. People constantly referring to Reagan as some great president, when so much of the bad government we have today is directly related to him. All the mainstream media that people complaing about is because of him. He appointed fcc people that got rid of the fairness doctrine, and now we have no news. 85 percent of investigators required to actually do journalism lost their job since this happened.

He increased government spending big time. The military budget went through the roof. Record deficits. Created the war on drugs so that the CIA could profit more from drug running. Arms sales like Iran contra and funding of contras. Defense budget is now nearly 1 trillion dollars. Fema's budget grew, where we now see those scary camps cropping up around the US, and ideas of suspending the constitution in case of an emergency.

Deregulation trends started under Reagan. You like that power companies can charge whatever they want now and purposely keep down supply. People don't understand that free markets don't necessarily apply when people dont' have choices (ie power, water, defense). But you buy the bs about derugulation and just eat it up.

He hurt so many environmental regulations for pollutors. You like not being able to eat literally any fish anymore that doesn't have mercury in it. Tax breaks for oil companies, meanwhile he killed alternative energy research that jimmy carter had started due to the oil crisis in the 70s.

Reagan was a tool for giant capitalism. He lied at talked a good game about small business owners, and getting government off the american people's back, but this was just talk. They did market research and figured out what the american people wanted to here from focus groups, and then they spouted that right back to the American people.

Stop going on and on about how Ron Paul reminds you of Reagan. It makes me want to vomit. I love Ron Paul. But he is not a giant tool for capitalism that Reagan was. Ron Paul is what the republican party used to be back 50 years ago. And that is a fresh change to the bs thats happening today and under Reagan.

I think Bush is awful, Reagan was terrible, HW bush was awful, Clinton was awful, Nixon was awful.........I miss when we had choices between people like Eisenhower, or John Kennedy. The parties (both of them) have gone down bigtime in the last 50 years, and if we want any hope of getting this country on the right track, we will stop pandering to the candidates who just say they love Reagan or Clinton.
