We have the Passion, Now we need the Numbers!
Getting Ron Paul on the view is a brilliant idea and can only help his situation. What some of you dont seem to realize is that while everyone on this forum is gung ho about RP, we are a relatively small group and there are Hundreds of Millions of people who havnt a clue who he is. If Dr. Paul is going to have a shot in hell at winning the primary, those people need to know him too, and the view is a perfect outlet to let that happen. The majority do not watch debates on CNN or read political blogs, tehy watch prime time television and soap opera's. These are the people who we need to start spreading the message to!!! We have the passion, now we need the numbers. Most of the women seem to like and apprecdiate him that host the show and it can only help the cause. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD PUBLICITY.
How can you spread a message if no one hears it?
The campaign should be reaching out to EVERYONE possible, not just the people you THINK will embrace it. For every ten people that have already rejected his message there are still one, two, maybe even three people who will. You have to look at it from an advertising standpoint. You want the most exposure for the least money and often times guests get paid $700 or so on these variety/ talk shows. Not to mention I've heard some positive things about him on the View. Mr. CFR even talked Paul up on their panel recently! I nearly s@#t myself when I saw THAT.
Also, alot of media say he wants to abolish govt agencies. When an elderly person hears this they are afraid that they will lose their Social Security or Medicare. So please, please, please emphasize when talking to people that he wants to PHASE OUT most of these programs. Seriously, I've done this when talking to senior citizens and noticed the response is noticeably more positive. Ezcept for the IRS- tell people that that one'll be gone so fast it'll make your head spin, that usually gets a really good reaction.

I always smile when some enthusiastic supporter suggests that Ron Paul appear on a particular TV show, such as the View or Charlie Rose.
Some months ago, Rosie O'Donnell was fired for talking about things that are unmentionable on ABC: Ron Paul was one. 911 was another. Either one was likely to provoke a phone call from Bob Iger.
These guys are all CFR insiders; Ron Paul will never appear on their shows, except in debates or on some news programs. We all recall ABC's George Stephanopolous and his sneery comment, "That's not gonna happen" when Ron Paul said his goal was to win.
Word is getting around about Ron Paul without The View. Would an appearance help? Maybe. But Lord knows what kind of attack Barbara & Company would unleash while Bob Iger lurked in the shadows, sniggering. No, "that's not gonna happen."

I can't watch your show because of my hours but my wfe keeps me informed. I think you all do a great job of opening topics up for discussion in a thought provoking way. You have mentioned Congressman Paul on several occasions. Some have reacted positively and others more negatively but I understand that it has always been interesting. He has a different point of view which your show could help people understand and assess. Why not ask him to visit? It would make for a great show.

My wife just called me (10/9; 11:14 AM EST) to let me know that Joy of the View said that, if she were going to vote Republican, she would vote for Ron Paul.
Now might be a great time to send the View a note to suggest inviting RP as a guest.

Dr. Paul doesn't need this kind of smut.
How about an hour with Larry King. I don't like the guy, but at least he won't try to "do" Dr. Paul.
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg, on The View, looked square at Nancy Pelosi and told her she would like to "do" her husband and she wouldn't mind "doing" Nancy Pelosi too. I saw it. Everyone else on the show was kinda shocked and they tried to move things along, like maybe no one heard it.
Like "anyone" would like to "do" Whoopi? Myself, I'll pass.

I would tend to agree with wisen, however, unfortunitely, if we are to reach the masses in the general election, appearances on shows like this reaches lots of people. my wife isn't a smut lover, but she does watch shows like this at times. Opera is the same, she has a gigantic following,
i can't stand either of the shows, but lots of people watch them...
if Dr Paul can get to these groups, then he truly is a shoe in...his message is powerful enough to change mind, or should i say, open minds...
i know we're a grassroots campaign, but it's a-growin, if you know what i'm saying...?
