** Personal Note: Please watch the entire speech!

You'll be pleasantly surprised by Rand's rather brilliant rhetorical tactic!

Frankly, watching this, I'm more impressed than EVER with Rand!

If you don't watch the whole thing, you're gonna be like: 'What the... Why does he sound suddenly more neoCon-y than a neoCon?? It's all "Islamic Jihad"-this, "Islamic Jihad"-that! Like, WTF? F? F?'

Initially, I was so incensed, I was about to 'delete' the thread by blanking it (seeing as how there's no "Delete Thread" button).

Then, you realize how clever the lad is: just when you think he's built up the audience's righteous indignation about how 'they're waging a war on Christians, and it's not being talked about:' imbuing the audience with a righteous indignant empathy for the victims, and by tribal religious proxy, a victim themselves.

At one point, he even goes 'far' as to assert that actually the current Islamic persecution vs. the Christians reminds him of the Crusades!

But then, here come the sneaky R3d-Pill: Rand points out how Obama is helping/aiding the murder/killing/persecution vs. Christians in the Middle East by aiding the Jihadists with arms and funds. Though IMO, this is precisely when he really could've completely destroyed Maggot Graham & John McNutt by clearly stating that their votes along with Dems are how oBUSHma is able to get away with funding Al-CIA-da. But, be that as it may...

What's more important? He continues to press on the fact that the entire onus of 'keeping Islam peaceful' is on other Muslims to NOT tolerate terrorism in their name, themselves.

So far so good.

But Rand is just building up.

Then, the strategy becomes clear: Islam has to police itself.

As in: 'We,' the Americans, ARE NOT going to intervene in your affairs, nor should we.

Initially Rand makes it seem like he's going along with the usual neocon party line of 'blame the entire Muslim population & Islam' for LETTING this all occur, and how perhaps the solution IS to flex America's military might to drive those jihadists out of those lands where Christians are being persecuted. (It's like, never mind almost century of American intervention abroad in between AND post-European colonialists in those regions.)

BUT, when Rand repeats the "Muslims must police themselves"-meme a few more times, you can almost sense some neocons in the audience 'waking up' to what he's actually saying, too (as exemplified by the raucous cheer to confused almost pensive silence): America will not and SHOULD NOT resolve the Muslim world's own problems by militarily intervening, sacrificing 'our' financial and physical wealth in and of 'our' youths, everywhere all the time.

Then, he actually states to a TheoCon audience that Islam brought enlightenment to the world via innovations in math, literature and science, at one time. And he's factually historically correct, of course!

And, how the Muslim world should want to make that the example by which the world sees them; rhetorical, but it seems to eventually work on Values Voters Summit's audience.

BOOM SHAKA LAKA!

Rand didn't smear Islam nor Muslims, at all: he praised them, factually, historically correctly where it is true, and condemned the aspects where one must.

BRILLIANT.

Rand had the audience rapt in the palm of his hands.

Pretty interesting to observe how he can speak to various crowd saying the same things, while often sounding tailor-made for a specific audience. But, if you really listen to how and what he's saying, it's the same principled stance; sure the rhetoric is definitely a bit more 'polemical' than how his father would've addressed similar issues. But frankly, it's like if Ron was at 70deg. Fahrenheit saying something, Rand's just saying them at 82degrees, but same content.

I personally found his rhetorical tactic to be quite brilliant, and most impressive. Most impressive.

Check it out y'all. Let me know what you think!

Rand Paul is being coached

By our hero. Believe that.

Rand spend 45 years observing and absorbing

his dad's ways before he entered politics, so I doubt that he needs coaching now.

Really?

Rand has a different personality. My guess is he got it from his mother.

What he got from his father was the chance to observe what works and what doesn't, an interest in economics, history, and how government works, and practice talking about all of it. He has seen the mistakes made by others and avoided many of them, himself. No question, being Ron's son helped with all of that.

But the idea that Ron Paul is "coaching" him is crazy. Besides, the senior Paul has denied being that involved. (My guess is that Rand doesn't tell him anything he doesn't want known in order to allow Ron to do what he does best: tell the truth without a filter.)

Ron Paul's personality is familiar to me because it's like mine and some of my family-members, but we can't talk in a straight line to save our lives. (Writing allows editing.) That speech was all Rand.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Rand is very smart and effective

I have been impressed by Rand from the beginning.

He was handing out peace and love candy and they ate it up!

I think part of the silence was because brains were furiously trying to absorb a message they've never understood before. They've been fed the lies of wars for so long, to suddenly be fed the sweet nectar of peace and love gave them cause to pause. I was happy they applauded him in the end.
Thanks for posting this, AnCap.

I thought it was

a wonderful speech and, yes, really brilliant. Maybe he can be president...the rinos still won't like him.

Your right

the rino's still won't like him, but I believe he has Romney at least backing him when he does stand at that podium with other contenders. per agreement at last convention. There may have been a few more agreements last Nov. 2012

though we didn't like it, I think he had it planned out.

This is the first time I've

This is the first time I've heard a politician say another part of the world can be great, it was breathtaking. The first 10min I was like wtf, but at like 10:30 my eyes watered. Wow!

Rand - Brilliant and Pragmatic

Thanks anCap
