Dr. Ben Carson: Obamacare "Worst Thing" Since Slavery

http://youtu.be/LNTuIxLXAo8

Dr. Ben Carson, a neurosurgeon-turned-conservative-activist, said Obamacare is the "worst thing" to happen to America since slavery, because "it is making all of us subservient to the government."

Why do people not use it?

Sounds like a waste of money then?

Brave man~

I read his first book, Gifted Hands, back in 2005 or 2006. It's a pretty good read. He's not perfect on all the issues, but which of us were when we were first learning about the different facets of liberty. He is probably better able to honestly evaluate an issue or explore a new subject, while guarding against personal bias, better than many of us here who are already "in the know". So I'll reserve judgement for now on any deficiencies he may have and watch what he does going forward.

I don't mind choppin' wood, I don't care if the money's no good

When Carson first entered my view I thought, "Wow, this guy speaks well, but is he goung to turn out to be kook, a strawman, or worse - a neoCon :D ?" Lo and behold he just keeps getting better. He's sort of a lone watchman at the moment regarding ObamaCare. Nobody's spoken this alarmingly against ObamaCare for a year [maybe two]. Cruz and Lee aren't even using language this strong. Kudos to Carson for speaking so strongly, for telling it like it is. Yes, he's being blatantly provocative by saying "since slavery". It's an awkward and perhaps absurd reference being that "slavery", as most folks in America think of it, wasn't a set-up enacted through legislation [like the draft or the IRS], but the end result as he deems ObamaCare a form of slavery points us ironically toward the notion that all nationalist legislation since the freeing of the negro slaves has been increasingly slavish to all. For what it's worth, I've before today in my own mind sized up the degree of nastiness we face from ObamaCare with things like the draft, IRS, Federal Reserve Act, Social Security and the like, even the Patriot Act. Carson is right. ObamaCare tops all those. Why? ...because it is designed to ultimately penetrate all health and medical services with national regulation, more specifically national management. Down the line, switching doctors won't mean a thing. Down the line we will develop a deeper understanding of what the term "mandate" really means. You don't want a flu shot? Too bad! It will come with setting a broken leg. Standard services will be mandated along with the services you actually need or want. No opt-outs [unless you prefer to set your own broken leg]. Mandatory mental health evaluations for all? Hey, you don't think you need one? That in itself will be justification enough! When all doctors and nurses are turned into national government agents, who will be concerned anymore about the militarization of police or drones for that matter? We will enter a new era of kinder, gentler, yet more pervasive totalitarianism. This is what Carson is talking about.

Most people here at the DP profess regard for private property, and that if nothing else you have and own your body. ObamaCare presents a virtually effective move into a more essentially fascist* society...

*[Here's one of the better explanations of Fascism]

...in a sense, ceremoniously, you shall still "own" your body, but for practical purposes it shall be under national management. Worse yet, that ownership will eventually be regarded by the government as a lease. A lease on life shall no longer be a poetic metaphor, but a legal term, as such.

Is ObamaCare worse than the IRS? Your personal database file with the NSA? The DTCC which holds ultimate control of your stocks and bonds? If it's not worse, then it's the final piece to a machine that holds access and control of your bank account, your children, your ability to travel, etcetera. Total information awareness, total control. With purpose did Carson inject the term "slavery" out of the gate. He shocked with intent.

Go CRUZ! There goes the Robert E. Michael S. LEE...

John Robb provides an

excellent commentary on Carson, AS WE KNOW HIM TODAY. I heard Carson speak at a Pro-life banquet fundraiser this past week in Augusta, GA attended by 1600 people. Carson's keynote address could be boiled down to a stump speech and book promo. He did offer some amazingly detailed personal history about his struggle with anger management. In his youth, Carson attempted to kill someone by stabbing that person with a knife. According to Carson's account to the audience of 1600, it was the other person's belt buckle that prevented the knife from entering the abdomen and causing a death.

Time will tell.

The illegal rendition and extrajudicial killing

of American citizens, would be something worse to shutdown the government over. Or the massive surveillance / police state being established. The national security arm of the government seems to have gone absolutely nuts since 9/11. This is rarely addressed, and instead we are in full domestic warfare mode about wealth redistribution. Personally, I would move closer to a Republican Party that stands up more against the war practices of this government, which are completely out of line with the role of government. It is empire.

well

subservience is a choice. so technically "obamacare" isn't making us anything. You can choose to not comply, peaceful resistance people.

choosing to not comply

choosing to not comply entitles paying a fine to the irs and if you think ignoring it is going to help you, hope you do not own anything the irs will lein it and take it. i will not comply myself but i will pay the fine since i do not want what i own to be taken as they will take it. wanna bet?

If you own nothing then you might have some balls. If you own something then you are gonna lose your balls to the irs. go ahead bet your investments, double dare you.

Dr. Ben Carson is the latest

neo-con mouthpiece. Every time I go over to my dad's he keeps telling me about this Dr. Ben Carson who makes so much sense. And if I'm at his house and Fox News is on, he'll tell me if Carson is going to talk. He wants me to listen to him so badly, as if it's not something I've heard before and I'll get convinced to give the Establishment guys another chance.

Defend Liberty!

How is Carson neocon?

I don't know much about him.

That description of your dad...

Isn't that what you were like when you were selling Ron Paul?

What's the difference?

Have some compassion. He's your dad, after all.

I never said anything disrespectful to my dad

But I've seen these new guys come and go and some stay, and if Fox News and Mike Huckabee are promoting Dr. Ben Carson, he's just another one of them.

I've heard Carson endorse

I've heard Carson endorse Rand on the Hannity show for his Presidential choice. It was several months ago. I'm sure things could have changed since then but I think the guy is genuine.

Good.

Good.

Welcome to the Unfortunate Awakening Circle of Your Fellow Americans, Dr. Carson, the more of us, the merrier.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

Good

We must always remain skeptical of our government and its motives.

It is always easy to give into bias.

A lot of people here in Massachusetts (finally learned to spell it!) don't see this side.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

Dumass

Federal reserve, Income tax, conscription, espionage act, electing senators, social security all way worse than obamacare.

Besides, Obamacare is facist, not socialist. If I had to choose, I'd take a single payer system over obamacare, which is a windfall for the big insurance companies.

I'm tired of these no nothing bigmouths - he's no better than Herman Cain or Alan West.

The majority of people don't

The majority of people don't understand any of that. Need a better approach, and I think people like Ron, Rand, Cruz, Carson, Lee and Amash are leading the way.

What exactly is a 'Dumass'

?

Comparing him to Hermain "nein nein nein" Cain?

*ouch!*

Cain was a pandering, flip-flopping, ex-Kansas City Federal Reserve chairman-- basically the ultimate insider.

Col. Allen West is a partisan jingoist and an anti-Muslim bigot.

It's not really a fair comparison.

A signature used to be here!

Herman Cain or Alan West?

Not even close ironman.
Carson doesn't pander and he's not stupid.
He's close on the history and if he said the FED/IRS complex enslaves everyone he may have lost the listeners. In time In time.

And "...no nothing bigmouths"?
I've known Carson since 1999. Totally not a no nothing or a big mouth.

debatable

Anyone who doesn't believe I have an inalienable right to own firearms isn't very smart in my book.

I have to give you that Verrater

But I also have to acknowledge that we have A LOT of dumb f-u-c-k-s doing some crazy s-h-i-t with guns and it's making all gun owners be perceived as
a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s.

The mental degeneration of America is a big part of the decline in liberty. Too many have squandered the responsibility of self defense by abusing it.

These same dumb f-u-c-k-s do stupid s-h-i-t with everything they do not just guns.

Exactly

These people abuse all all of their rights to harm or hurt others. You don't see him advocating for the removal of free speech because of hate groups. You don't see him advocating for removal of freedom of religion because of radical Islam.

It's philosophically inconsistent.

I see where he's coming from

Humanity is evolving as a species.

What we are 100 years from now will be foreign to us today.

Big changes coming for humanity.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

I don't see

how an evolution as a species would ever preclude one to being disarmed rationally. It is not for the government or anyone to dictate to me or anyone else their ability to be ready. Evolution of the species would entail removing the need for firearms, but not firearms themselves.

Indeed

Into what will we evolve ? I'm torn between wishing I could see what we become, to being happy I'm not part of it. I suppose I'm pessimistic, but I see humans evolving into confused peer groups that replace families, and integrated into a wider control structure that draws its authority from the necessity to be plugged into the control structure to survive. Imagine a hybrid of the TV shows (Friends, sex in the city, and the league) and the Star trek Bork episodes.

I love Ben taking down Obama

I love Ben taking down Obama agenda since his dinner with the president, but keep an eye on him. He is very high on the neocon list for 2016. He's already said he's open to being drafted for the spot. For starters, he's been quite busy at the Heritage foundation lately.
