Karl Denninger militantly and aggressively does absolutely nothing this weekend.

Karl Denninger, writer of the Market Ticker website, part originator of the first reincarnation of "tea-party", all around good guy and wicked smart dude, has announced that he will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING this weekend.

He's "darked" his site but it's kind of an interpretive version of going dark:

Moving forward, Karl says he's gonna pretty much stop making money to the point where he has no income tax liability, no capital gains liability, no tax on his productivity or income. He says he has enough money to comfortably live out his days and he's drawing his own red line.

Red as in red ink for government which shall have to do without the dollars he would otherwise surely make.

What makes this so awesome for us?

Nothing. I hit his site every day. I'd plead with him to relent and keep publishing but a man's gotta do what he thinks is right. Besides, he's a writer and that's a truly dependent condition.

I go Galt as often as

I go Galt as often as possible for the same reason, and because I enjoy doing nothing.

Cyril's picture

Woa. And there you have it.

And there you have it.

The beginning of the flock who's willing to go Galt.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

Jerry Maguire and John Galt, he is. Or is he, master Yoda?

Jerry Maguire and John Galt, he is. Or is he, master Yoda? Seems the problem with walking off the face of the earth is that everyone forgets about you very quickly, and that can be difficult for someone who's used to a following. We'll see how long Karl lasts without his booster club.

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Yeah we're betting on the same horse

Writing is addictive and Denninger has fun with it. Guys like him don't do nothing well.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.
