Pentagon faked arrival ceremonies honoring fallen soldiers

The Pentagon has been holding phony “arrival” ceremonies for fallen soldiers at a base in Hawaii for over seven years, according to recent statements made by the United States Department of Defense to NBC News.

For nearly a decade, military personnel transported flag-draped coffins containing the bodies of troops killed in action from seemingly just-arrived cargo planes during ceremonies near hangar 35 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

In reality, however, the remains of those soldiers may have spent upwards of months in military custody before being paraded out during partially-fabricated ceremonial presentations carried out by the government’s Joint Prisoner of War Accounting Command, or JPAC.

Bill Dedman, an investigative reporter for NBC, said that the Pentagon confirmed this week “that no honored dead were in fact arriving, and that the planes used in the ceremonies often couldn't even fly but were towed into position.”

Got to harvest those organs.....

What is the irony that the reporter's name is Dedman

Dead-man.

Nothing surprises me anymore...

Not even this. Sickening? Yes. Surprising? No.

All the USA is a stage act.

All the USA is a stage act.

Do you really think the Federal Government gives a Flying Fcuk about our fallen and wounded soldiers?

A firing squad is the only ceremony these people deserve.

“When remains are brought back by JPAC staff, Stone said, they arrive from the airport in a plastic box in an employee's private vehicle, with no ceremony,” Dedman reported after meeting with him."

I guess that means they

I guess that means they through some plastic tubs in the back of the pickup.

And they want us to...

honor the military? The men -maybe, the leadership - never!

Pretty despicable stuff, but consistent with our government.

Pentagon unit held 'phony' ceremonies for MIAs, using planes that can't fly
---------
The ceremonies also have been known, at least among some of the military and civilian staff here, as The Big Lie.
---------
'A very pissed-off citizen'
Jesse Baker, an Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea living in Honolulu, said he has been to more than 50 of these ceremonies. He told NBC News that he's always been under the impression that the plane had just arrived carrying recovered remains.

"If I have been fooled, I am going to be a very pissed-off citizen, because I've been going for years," Baker said. "And I know a lot of guys who are going to be pissed off. ... They're out there honoring warriors."

But if the fallen were really there,

what's the issue? It's a real ceremony, whether or not they are working planes. Would people rather that the military host a solemn ceremony to honor the fallen with a flag-draped casket carried down the steps of a cargo plane... or having relatives and friends simply stand in a parking lot and wait for a car to arrive with their loved one in a plastic bag in the back seat?

If they are going to all that

If they are going to all that trouble to pretend there is a ceremony when the dead return to US soil, maybe it is because there should be a ceremony. The truth is there is no ceremony when the bodies come home.

I just don't see that it's a pretend ceremony.

The bodies did come back to America; they just hadn't arrived that day. The ceremony itself was real, just having been delayed - and sometimes for quite a while. Sadly, horribly, it can sometimes take them a long time to even figure out who it is who's been brought home. :( In any event, the issue has apparently been resolved. They're going to change the name from "arrival ceremonies" to "honors ceremonies." http://investigations.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/10/20889368-...

It has been my experience

It has been my experience that anything that must be kept secret is wrong.

I agree they should have been

up front about it vs. leaving a misleading name for the ceremony. What I was responding to, perhaps, was the extreme reaction of people here. It makes them "Satanists?" It warrants a "firing squad" for what they did? For God's sake, you'd think that soldiers were caught dancing and feasting around their fallen comrades! Or worse. People need to get a grip on reality and keep things in perspective - or WE lost credibility. But if "only" symbolic, if the military brass didn't wish to admit that actually the remains being honored had not arrived that day and not even necessarily recently (again, the issue is timing here, not the existence of remains), knowing people in the service, I don't doubt for a moment that those carrying the coffins from the planes or performing the ceremonies were duly respectful.

This is really sad...

This is really sad and disrespectful to all Americans. It makes a mockery out of the military. Shame on the government.

RickStone

Indeed. Government has been making a mockery out of the

military for decades now. Using them in all manner of illegal ops and criminal "wars". Then add the stuff like the Bush admin's pitching the national guard into foreign ops... followed by stop loss policy.

It amazes me how much BS our military will take from these elitist government civilian MFs who send them to their deaths for no good reason. How much longer can people offer themselves up as cannon fodder accessories to international criminal activities?

(I only wish the military folk would realize that running ops against traitors in our criminal parasite federal government would be the best service to our country possible at this time...)
