Is Rand Paul Giving The GOP A Good Name?Submitted by Chris P. Crunchski on Sat, 10/12/2013 - 19:24
(changed back to original title)
I've noticed a disturbing trend in the past year or so with Rand Paul. He's been on the news and in the press so often lately that people all around the country are starting to learn about him: his policies, his positions, and his distressingly clean and uncorrupted past.
These aspects of the man might have gone overlooked, and never have become the black eye on the party that they have, were he to keep them quiet. But instead, directly against the best wishes of the Republican Party, he is willingly open about his discretions, to the point of parading them in front of the nation, even filibustering in public.
Indeed, some have called him the new face of the Party! Him and all his candor. A new face, with neither guilt nor shame, on a party which has worked for generations to establish itself as the friend of the corporation, ally to special interests, patrons of the lobbies.
The common man always knew where there welcome was, and instinctively flocked to our sister party, the Democrats, with all their handout goodies. Classic good-cop bad-cop - kept most of the elections nice and even. But now the Republicans, the party of greed, the party of closet 'deals', the party of war, gets to put on the clean and shiny new face of Rand Paul?
The deception is more stomach-turning than looking at the previous face of the Republican Party, John Boehner. Please stand with me in resisting this grave injustice.
