Kenken - The Ultimate Logic Puzzle

Sudoku is for sissies. You need to Kenken:

My favorite is the 7x7 puzzles.

(hint - place-holders belong in your brain, not a widgit)

Sissies indeed.

Jon told me that there are only 5 algorithms possible to solve all sudoku boards, and that someone wrote a program that solved every game of sudoku.

Ever.

In under an hour.

I don't understand this ken ken thing though.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

But he might have meant

"strategies."

you are putting Descartes, before the horse.

Algorithms come after game theory.

Never played sudoku before.

Never played sudoku before. I'm liking KenKen, though, and will be playing some more. KenKen just cost the DP some more replies tonight!

I haven't yet mastered sudoku though

I'm kind of stuck on the hard level. Medium is too easy now and kind of boring, but hard is too hard and I just give up. I'll look into kenken when I can get past hard in sudoku.

kenken will help your sudoku game.

in ways unimaginable.

Quick - what's 224 divided by 7?

32, silly.

Quick

Is it possible, on a 7 x 7 Ken-ken, to make 224, multiplying, on a single line?

If you have one bend in a seven-square shape, four tiles across and three up, can you make 224, multiplying? Using what numbers? What two numbers would be possible fills for the connecting square?

It's your fault, you hooked me on the damn game!

7412 across...

41 up from the 2 or 7 is one possible solution. - edit - that's only 6 squares so no, not possible as you describe it.

You got it.

I mis-counted the number of squares. Four across by three up is six, not seven. My bad. Good on you. Great game.
