I think the power company President needs to go to jail.

As if using Oil doesn't kill anything

Lots of disinformation fucks in this thread.

Clear paid accounts. So much bullsh*t. I wonder who's paying people to write threads / nonsense comments like these.

Fallen, I'd just like to know:

how do you know they are paid accounts? I just want to see what you're seeing, if you're seeing anything at all...

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

Could you please clarify.

Are you saying that wind turbines don't kill birds and bats around the globe in the millions?
Are you also saying that 100's of millions of tax payer dollars haven't been wasted on "green energy"?
A back up to your spat would be good.

not a big fan of these giant wind mills

and they are bird killers.

I get solar and am ok with it, but these things are nuts.
Watch the movie Windfall

...and this from Spain.

Ethanol & Wind Turbines: Two Huge Frauds: "Green"

...they both waste more fossil fuel than they save.

@ 20 Billion per year on a national level out of our pockets via Uncle Sam only to help line the pockets of developers and landowners. They can affect human health dramatically with low frequency noise, infrasound, harmonics etc. Not to mention animal well being...including dairy herds.

20 Billion is only for wind, anyone have numbers on ethanol?

Have they removed the turbines in the Falmouth, MA area yet? I heard plans being made. Even WITH subsidies, these folks wanted them out!

Well the problem is that they

Well the problem is that they put them in bird flight paths. Of course you could say that everywhere is a bird flight path, but generally you have areas which arent as popular for the birds. I am for wind energy, but only in combo with other natural sources and done right. There is no way we can use only one source.

You won't be for it when your windows get a strobe light effect

inside your home all day long, every day, from the 450 ft high turbine blades being in between the sun and your windows, and when hundred pound chunks of ice are randomly slinging a mile through the air at 100 mph in the winter time. Or the constant annoying whoosh whoosh whoosh they conveniently forget to tell you about. Not to mention the community hatred you will create for you and your family for permanently damning your entire community to the above annoyances, hazards, and property value declines that come with them if you sell out to these kind hearted green power companies who will assure you all day long how good what you are doing is, all while making you sign confidentiality agreements to keep you from disclosing your new deal with them to your neighbors.

I highly suggest the documentary "Windfall" (currently on Netflix) for anyone considering accepting their money and allowing turbines.

I said done right, there are

I said done right, there are plenty of areas to put this stuff that isnt right up against houses; the big ones that is.
There is likely for more to be gained from smaller turbines than the large ones.

Oh, I also tend to leave my curtains closed all day. haha This despite a nice yard with forested area. Its not often I feel the need for bright light coming in, sensitive eyes and all.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Loved that comment beneath the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBYjZG8O6qE

Thanks for the recommendation. I plan to watch it:

Thanks for finding that trailer link md

The documentary is currently on Netflix by the way.

Can I embed it in your comment?

Or I can embed it to mine instead if you prefer. I don't want to hock it without giving credit where credit is due. Lol

I can't edit my

comment now. And, now, neither can you! Sure, add a reply and embed. But it was your recommendation to begin with. My, but don't we sound like the polite British in National Lampoon's Vacation, not a couple of boorish Americans!... Edit: Oh, yes, *you* can edit the comments. In that case, I think it belongs in your original comment where you talk about the strobe effect. Thx,

Thanks md

I added it to mine.

Unfortunate, although

I agree with Ben Franklin that the eagle is a poor choice for our national symbol; eagles are SERIOUS assholes of the bird world!

(Saw one recently picking on a young osprey in its nest....)

What would the Founders do?

The Nature of the Eagle...

...is that they compete with each other directly for food/resources.

However, the very strongest and biggest Eagles do not compete by hunting, fishing or fighting with each other, they simply steal from the weaker Eagles!

Sounds like the perfect symbol for our federal government, and the ruling class elite who run it.

BTW, the Eagle symbol is really the Phoenix, going back as far as ancient Egypt, and can be seen in almost every nation across the globe, throughout history.

It seems like the eagle is the perfect choice for our nations

symbol. Look at how we act around the world

look

Not only do we like to kill wantonly worldwide

we are also suckers with our money!

BLOL! (bitter laugh out loud)

Sad but true. I suppose it (the choice) could've been self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts....

What would the Founders do?

Eagles are thiefs

A couple of weeks ago I watched a bald eagle stealing fish from Osprey. And they are cowards, too. A little kingbird can chase of a bald eagle. That's why Ben Franklin wanted the turkey as the national bird.

I was just thinking this.

Household turbines are more efficient

They are smaller and you control them. Big power companies are lobbying for a ban on residential turbines because they cannot bill you.

Yes.

It makes much more sense to have your own wind turbine, generating power super-locally. This would also not disturb the landscape anymore than your house already does.

Putting up wind turbines all over the landscape will definitely not be good for the environment. Putting one on your house may look a little weird, at first, but when the electric bill gets cut in half, they'll start looking pretty cool.
