Does Ron Pauls subscription TV channel leave a bad taste in your mouth?

I think he's burning the good faith and credit earned with his fans during the election by asking for subscriptions.

I keep getting calls to action, and the only action is to subscribe. I hate to be rude and unsubscribe from his mailing, but I think that's tacky.

Can't believe he's asking for subscriptions when, a) he's got more money than most his supporters, and b) in today's world who subscribes for anything? Time Magazine - not!

It's probably a dead-end concept in today's facebook, youtube, advertising driven world.

What do you think?

I don't

even watch it, but I pay $10/month simply because.

I refuse to pay for subscriptions period

I was very disappointed when I learned Ron Paul was charging for his new website.
Number one I refuse to pay for any website.

I looked forward to seeing his website when it came out though. Now he's just lost in the shuffle.

Lost in the shuffle is a good way to describe it

Ron's advantage was that he was actually in Congress. Then he was the man on stage, running for president. That is what made his voice valuable. He was actually in a position to do something, or so it seemed.

There are a million talking heads. Ron Paul is now one of them.

There is enough talk in this movement. What is needed is action.

Ron Paul

Running around the country campaigning for President spreading the liberty message FOR US ( I really dont think RP wanted to be President but saw it as an opportunity to better this country for his family and the rest of us), wasn't enough action for you?

I don't

I still don't.

You want a private business to give you their stuff for free?
Are you a Democrat?

The irony is strong in this one

Do you send Michael money every month? Or are you just using this website for free?

boy, you got me there

I guess we can all go home now

Really Ron Paul has a

Really Ron Paul has a channel? The only place I ever hear about it is here on the Daily Paul and the emails they send me asking for money. Never once outside this very small circle.

PS Why does Ron want to collect Federal Reserve Notes anyway?

i think i have a "tolerence"

i think i have a "tolerence" of those that dont GET the internet, but yeah, i get where your coming from and have the same mindset......but i have no issues with voluntatering for a product or services CONSUMED, ENJOYED, willing to contribute based on my demand and not what can be fleeced from me, ......their supply, my demand.....that is the next level i reckon brought on and lead by the internet, to provide a supply that is actually in demand, eventually, fine tuned enough over time, for the majority of attempts to be succesfull, when entrepeuneurs teach one another through their success stories......based on the common good, i.e. NO corruption ACCEPTABLE, the internet providing accountability through communicated and archived experience

Best 10$ I spent this month.

Cut down 3 beers a month and its paid. Cut 1 pack of cigs a month and it's paid. Cut on weed and it's paid. Cut on junk food and it's paid. Walk a few times a month instead of using a car and it's paid. Jerk it off instead of going clubbing once a month and it's paid off for 6 month.grow a garden and it's paid off for a year.

Now I hope these examples can help.

Do you really have to be so graphic? Give me a break

I am very blunt as a person.

Naturally iam a happily grumpy person. But look on the bright side you have the same rights I do.

On the issue of paying for

On the issue of paying for it...well, RP is providing the content. He has the right to charge for it. If a consequence of that is that his message doesn't spread as far, then he'll have to live with it.

FYI, Ron Paul has always made money and promoted liberty at the same time...

I too grow weary of constantly being pestered for money I don't

I really tire of nothing but smoke up my ass while asking for that money, and nothing of substance to SHOW for what they've already collected. (the channel being something of an exception - the C4L being the worst offender)

They don't know I don't have spare funds.

They won't get anything if they don't ask.

Their methods ARE tried and true, and DO work. (for raising funds)

So I simply toss the mail in the trash and go about my day, hoping eventually, I might have the spare cash to throw their direction.

He should offer sneak-previews...

excerpts from each day's broadcast that whet the appetite and at the very least sends people to google to search out more information...

Tweeting occasionally as his best friend @cracky4prez on the twitter.

I would totally subscribe if

I would totally subscribe if the content could be shared. That's the ONLY thing that's stopping me. Just sayin'. I don't see the point, otherwise. I'm not one to like to horde knowledge all to myself! =P

"Spread the message of liberty." Isn't that what the Doc always says?

That's pretty much where I'm at. I love that he has a channel and is still speaking out, but by now I feel like I know enough for myself to be convinced of libertarian principles. I'm more looking for content to help wake up the rest of the nation.

He has more money than us!

WAAAAA! Please, stop crying like a little girl. I'm sick of people attacking Ron Paul for being a good capitalist. What do you expect him to do, use all the money he has to run the site, and then what happens when that money runs out? What then genius? How will he pay for the set, employees, cameras, and website? With his stunning good looks? The only people that complain about Dr Paul's subscription charge, are those who know nothing about running a business. Getting a message out isn't free, and he can't get on the news channels every day and get his message out.

He wouldn't have to do it for free if he had a few advertisements, but of course it's his choice how he wants to run his show. Personally I don't think it's such a good idea since it severely limits his exposure, which we need to wake people up and spread the message if we want to 'save' humanity (for a lil while anyways).

I couldn't agree more

It's sad that people are putting this down, when all it does is move towards the elimination of MSM. I pay 10 a month just because he ask.

I agree with your post dormouse...

My beef with the RPC, is that

My beef with the RPC, is that the channel was founded on the major notion, that the problem with the "mainstream media/education system" is that they do not teach differing points of view (which really isn't true. They present plenty of different points of view, just not ALL different points of view).

RP then goes on to start a channel which only teaches HIS points of view. Almost singuarily...it is the same with Woods's show. That isn't educational...RP is doing the same thing that he is accusing the mainstream of doing.

To be fair, RP believes his views are 100% correct, so that is why he only teaches and preaches those viewpoints. But, the mainstream people probably believe just as strongly that their views are 100% correct.

you can turn on almost any other news "show"

and get the other side of the arguments. How many more options do you need to get the mainstream view?

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

except what he teaches is

except what he teaches is more like mathematics, not just a bunch of voodoo and opinions

Austrian economics actually works, for example, Keynesian is voodoo magic, so I think it's stupid to teach differing views just to cover it all. That's just a waste of time imho

Really? I no longer

Really? I no longer subscribe, but I remember his Austrian economics being more verbal reasoning and logic. In fact, most Austrian economics don't like using math and economic models, because they think the economy is too complicated.

What I typically say, is that Keynesian, Austrian, classical, neoclassical, monetarist/Chicago School, MTT, French school, NIE, Stockholm, etc....

All these economic schools are supported by some very smart, very educated, very well-published people. And if you actually go and read what they write, there are compelling arguments in many of their separate beliefs. There is a lot of merit to each one of them.

The problem is, that the individual schools, including the Austrian school, have an absolute intolerance of dissent. There are high levels of arrogance/confidence in their theories...to suggest that they be wrong in any way is to invite ridicule and ostracization. That, I believe, is extremely counter-productive.

How is it that we can watch

How is it that we can watch stuff of Ron Paul off CNN FOXS MSNBC but can't seem to get anything off of RP Channel? I thought the point of the show was to be educational and outreaching... How is it going to reach people if the only people paying for it are those that know of Liberty already? I didn't subscribe cause I knew most of the stuff already. And why isn't anyone posting anything from the show like 1 or 2 days later so we can see it too? This is like going backward for Liberty.

Thank you for reminding me

I am on my way to sign up now!
