RT | Published on Oct 16, 2013

How is this Bi-partisan?

People who keep calling this "Deal" a bipartisan compromise are wrong:

House Republicans wanted to defund ACA or delay it for 1 year (to treat individuals the way the President is treating Big Business); repeal the Medical Device tax; and ensure that Congress and President would have to enroll in the system before funding government. They also did not want to see the debt ceiling raised without sincere and concrete spending cuts.

Senate Democrats wanted to fully fund the government with no strings attached regarding ACA and wanted to increase the debt ceiling with no strings attached regarding spending.

"The Deal" = fully fund government and raise debt ceiling, while requiring a budget conference (that was already required), with no strings attached.

How is that a bipartisan compromise?

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington

It's expected to be

It's expected to be bipartisan in the Senate, in that there will be solid support from both sides of the aisle.

I bet we will see a good chunk of Republicans in the House vote yes on this as well. Time will tell.

Who wants to bet on the time?

I'm going with 9:45pm tonight the House will pass the bill.

Only off by 45 minutes!

Who's awesome? :P

"the world's richest nation ?"

Yeah as long as China keeps loaning us money.

What year was this written?

Our individual rights are our true wealth, our inhertiance

Other nations might have more natural resources and labor numbers, but we have had the riches of Liberty, to do more, and become more, with whatever we have.

Tragically, we've been told, again and again, that ONCE someone is elected to a certain titled position, AND swears an oath to uphold and defend some old piece of paper, with their hand on an even older book, in front of God and everyone; that THEN they are mostly free to forget votes and voters, that Good and Holy Book, their Law-of-the-Land Contract agreement; and pretty much do whatever they want; gambling against all odds, and then signing both our property and even our very lives, ON, as their corporate collateral. Their top priorities are to, (a) get themselves reelected, (b) not go to jail, and (c) not get shot.

lol, well, the Keynesian statists will forever say that,

every year, unfortunately, from now until they'll hoard their Trillion Dollar Fed.Res.Notes, a la Zimbabwe style... and use 'em to fire up their wood-burning stoves...oh right; oops, they might not be able to: http://www.dailypaul.com/300784/the-epa-takes-an-axe-to-self...

though suppose by then, they wouldn't have to worry about EPA to enforce anything seeing as how they'll de facto become defunct. lol... er. .o/

What? How

dare you compare me to Mutt Wrongney??

oh yeah? well... well... I'm gonna... I'm gonna... compare you to NASA-style!

actually, not sure how I feel about this one: tax leeches, but they are scientists who probably genuinely believe that they're really pioneering for the entire mankind. unlike, pretend 'scientist' a-holes at IRS who made that Star Trek farcical tax dollars waste.

either way, your tax dollars at work...

Though, as a pure nerd parody goes, the MIT version definitely takes the cake:
