Next stop on the tour with Metallica is Buenos Aires

Next stop on the tour with Metallica is Buenos Aires, Argentina!

The Recycled Orchestra is having a blast with Metallica!

If you missed the Recycled

If you missed the Recycled Orchestra's 60 Minutes segment back in November, here's your second chance to tune in to 60 MINUTES THIS SUNDAY NIGHT at 7 PM PST/EST on the CBS NETWORK!

Nice! Thanks. I was waiting for the parable to be explained.

But the video didn't go that far.

And then I remembered this video involving a landfill that was reclaimed, and a beautiful parable is conveyed!

Thats been in the jam session a few times...

It's such an amazing video. I worked with at-risk-youth in the Tacoma area in WA state and in Detroit for a while. I mentored and tutored primarily in literacy, however we always used music and whatnot to aid lessons. Music can be powerful, especially to people in need.

For the power of music

A Friday morning bump.

He's the man.

Old: But still good to know that we can express ourselves....

once we're in their shoes.

Force people waiting in line

Force people waiting in line for "stuff" on Black Friday to watch this video,...

Just imagine people realizing their idiotic behavior.

Trampling each other to save $10 on a toaster. This is such a beautiful example of the "Small is Beautiful" approach to life.

These kids have

"Power vs. Force"

Exclamation point.

You Hooked Me with Your Title

Thank you for posting this. What a wonderful example of human creativity and determination. We all have genius within us.

Wow, wow, wow

This video speaks volumes on how to live a fulfilling life when circumstances are not.

My mom always said waste not want not, she was right again.

Thank you for sharing this positive video with us.

Thanks Michael for linking to this in BT other comment. I would have missed this completely!

Brings to mind the 8 Beatitudes

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
2. Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
3. Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
4. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
5. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
6. Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
7. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
8. Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they

Blessed are they

Meanwhile the "Poor" here in the US

drive their pimped out Cadillac and talk on the iPhones while they complain and ask for more.

This is garbage!

Thanks for posting barracuda

...is good for the soul imo. Many people became decent because of poverty. My family was very poor. I had to carry in well water into the house all winters as a kid for example. We gleaned as well. Only when I went to a 'better' public school I became a greater sinner.

Awe wow

This made my day. Thank you!

2/3rds of the world live in abject poverty

Just like these kids do.

Were never going to solve their problems unless we can solve our own problems first, namely the IMF-FED-CIA-OPEC-Military Industrial Complex-Big Pharma-Big Agriculture-Big Oil-Main Stream Media Gangster cartel who have an economic, political and social gun pointed at the head of every nation in the world.

"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon

I think Mother Theresa said,

I think Mother Theresa said, America has a different kind of poverty... a poverty of love.

IMF-FED-CIA-OPEC-Military Industrial Complex-Big Pharma-Big Agriculture-Big Oil-Main Stream Media Gangster cartel

Cause and effect

Our Poverty...will be just like their poverty... in time.

Both have the common root you point out.

In those cultures, the love of family is much greater than we have here in America.

What I'm saying is we need to focus on the root of the problem, not the symptoms of the problem.

"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." - Henry David Thoreau

"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon

My experience with foreigners confirms what you said here

In those cultures, the love of family is much greater than we have here in America.

I should have said foreigners

I should have said foreigners express their love of family more than Americans

Hooked?! A bit understated.

This is the kind of story that makes you almost cry. What a powerful vid. Shared this with my two Daughters. This storey touches a person on so many levels.

Thank you for posting. This is the most valuable content that my mind has processed in weeks.

Liberty = Responsibility

I watched it. Im Hooked. Thanks a lot .. I feel crappy as I passed on an old violin for $15 at auction a couple weeks ago... Where can I find more info on this? Id like to put my really small reaching 'feelers' out to gobble up some instruments & have them shipped..

Although I do recognize that the beauty comes from the creativity of creating the instrument, Id still like to 'vampirically' enjoy their arts with whatever tiny donation I can muster.. (its an Ayn Rand "thing" on altruism).

Sadley, I recognize that maybe a donation could muster heightened jealously while creating a market for pandering instruments in that locality; thus stifling ingenuity...

Damn, maybe its a monk thing.. but id still like to get involved in a way that would help...
