Yes, the shutdown is over -- news for those of you who might have been hiding under a rock in one of our newly-re-opened national parks. The US bond market is now saved for a whopping 3 months. But in case you were just itching to crack open the Moet, you might want to hold off.... we have some surprising insight for you. Justine Underhill joins us live from the Capitol to highlight the "procine morsels" that lawmakers dropped into this last minute deal.

Also, does the amount of debt, private and public, even matter? To answer this and many more questions, Bob attended the Casey Research Summit, which was packed with astute market observers and economists, alike. None other than Doug Casey, of www.CaseyResearch.com , was there to weigh in. Bob asks him about the significance of the amount of government debt, particularly that of the US.

And Erin treks to Florida to talk with a couple of self-styled "preppers," who take the threat of post-Dollar Armageddon seriously.

Finally, you may have heard it before, but not like this...I'm talking about today's modern-day-gold-rush that is the-hunt-for-BitCoin.

and, please check out the debut episode of Boom Bust:

RT America's 2nd Go-Ahead @ Lauren Lyster Replacement: Bob English (Austrian-leaning) and Erin Ade's "Boom Bust" debuts!

Welcome to the final act of Masterpiece-Political-Theater. While Congress acts as though fiscal brinkmanship is a form of haute-Kabuki, the markets have taken notice. We cut through the hype and hyper-partisan bickering -- and tell you about the fallout from weeks of Political-Pigheadedness!

And, Greece is in the news again, now that yet another slice of bailout funds are on the table. Thankfully, the Deputy-Prime-Minister of Greece, Evangelos Venizelos, sat down with Erin and provided fascinating insight into Greece's "lost generation."

Also with the "fiscal can" now kicked -- if ever so briefly -- we can turn our attention to the Federal Reserve. Where did all those trillions in freshly minted digital Fed money go? Justine Underhill charts the surprising answer. Then, David Stockman weighs in on the end game for the Fed.

Finally, it might be football season, but we're not covering 'da Bears. DeBeers and a record diamond auction at Sotheby's is today's Big Deal.

** Looks like Lauren Lyster's 1st replacement show with Perianne Boring didn't take; RT America tries again with former de facto co-host of Prime Interest, Bob English (a contributor to Bob Wenzel's Econ. Policy Journal & Zero Hedge) and Erin Ade. I've personally never heard of Erin, anyone here familiar with her work? Well, either way, hope this one fares better than Prime Interest.

Sorry I can't keep the names

Sorry I can't keep the names straight. He seems to offer a credible competent image for a host. She may be OK underneath her flippant, continuous on-the-brink sarcasm but she is too "American" (cable show hostess type) for me. I prefer the more serious academic knowledgeable types that are refreshingly prevalent on non-American stations.

I hear ya;

as a reference, if I had my druthers, the level of journalistic scrutiny deployed when interviewing guests, would be at bare minimum equivalent to one employed by RT's Oksana Boyko (one of the most informed, biting, sharpest, fiercest TV-hostesses I've seen in a long time); definitely become quite fond of her, as of late. Just check out the following two interviews; they're very illustrative of her skills:

Michio Kaku, famed Theoretical Physicist, All Theory, No Physics: How DARE You question the Official 9/11 FairyTale!

Frenemy Watch: Exec.Dir. Ken Roth of Human Rights Watch = WarWHORE; Says It's a "Conspiracy" that Rebels can Launch Chem.Attack!

but seeing as how econ is more or less a 'specialty' field, it definitely helped to have had someone like Lauren Lyster, who worked briefly as an investment analyst on Wall St. to properly communicate it all.

If anyone saw Perianne Boring's short-lived "The Prime Interest" you never got the sense that she fully understood the subject matter from the heart, and even Erin Ade, who supposedly worked at ESPN or whatever other sports desk, you can tell that she's a seasoned TV-professional, but it definitely is more TV-stage proficiency than econ subject matter proficiency.

Lauren definitely knew how to speak the 'lingo' to industry professionals and were able to get much more probing questions answered. Truly do miss her. She was most definitely a rarity in modern MSM/'alt'-MSM.

Isn't this the one who

Isn't this the one who interviewed the UN inspector and questioned the validity of their investigations of Syria's alleged use of Sarin?..She extracted meaningful information...no autopsies done! If so I quite admire her too.

yep; believe this is the one you're referring to

RT.Oksana Boyko vs UN Lackey: Existence of No Evidence is Evidence, No Corpse Examined, but Sarin Present! Yay!

you and me both, being impressed by Oksana's stuff? As Yogi Berra would say: It's like Deja Vu all over again!

I had to laugh watching

I had to laugh watching Oksana interview Miss Universe, a American. Oksana ran her around in circles quite deftly and mockingly I fear. Along with some obvious "American" bashing, the beauty queen was allowed to blather herself into ridiculousness.

also interesting is how she conducted the recent Peter Schiff

Addicted to debt, moving from one quick fix to the next -- this is how the world sees America's debt ceiling saga. With its craving only temporarily satisfied, we're guaranteed to see a rerun of the debt tragicomedy in early 2014. Is it possible to break the vicious cycle, or is it a question of postponing the inevitable? To canvass these issues, Oksana is joined by 'Dr Doom' Peter Schiff, an investment broker who predicted the 2008 crisis.

** Guess Oksana may have not been fully aware of Peter's views; it's clear that her initial tact was to put Peter on the defensive, as if to say 'admit that Americans are at fault here!'

To which, Peter was laughing during her entire lead up, because he's ALWAYS blamed it on the Fed and the banksters, and to some extent on some of the citizenry who partook in the 'easy credit-heroin.'

But she changed tact, when she realized that his views weren't about 'defend America! rah! rah! rah! at all cost!'

Again, her Russo-nationalism was on display there, but it's a predictable level of nationalism, which I suppose isn't much worse than the rest of the current batch of her MSM counterparts in America and rest of Europe. lol.

Though, as expected Oksana went full bore pro-Russo-nationalist in her interview with the globalist faux-green movement lackey from GreenPeace (laughably, who apparently sees 'protesting' fecklessly against the Russians, to be of more environmental import, than bringing attention to the single most important global environmental catastrophe still unfolding: Fukushima); while she was absolutely correct to call him out, but to pretend that Russia has a fair legal system is absurd!

Of course 'our' 'justice' system isn't much better, but really, let's put things in perspective and be truly honest here.

Plus her assertion that the GreenPeace boat intentionally attacked the Russian Coast Guard by ramming them, particularly in those waters under those circumstances? Well...from the looks of it, and even understanding what little one does know about navigating treacherous waters, from the video, it actually is wholly plausible that the GP boat lost control in the swells.

Be that as it may, still an utterly popcorn-able TV moment:

This is why, as much as I respect her feisty-ness, I caveat-ed previously about her predictable reluctance to go after Putin et al:

http://www.dailypaul.com/299291/frenemy-watch-exec-dir-ken-r...

That said, like she'd ever take Putin to task, for his 'alleged' involvement in the assassination of a noted Russian journalist/ardent critic of Putin himself: Anna Politkovskay, or the soft-kill assassination of Alexander Litvinenko, or the fact that he DID in fact order 'his' FSB to deploy a REAL chemical warfare agent against 'his own' civilian population, 'to save them', and not to mention his alleged false flag...AGAINST HIMSELF, to boost his image.

Well, as with these things, always look to foreign press to get a sense of what's really going on in America, but look here, for criticism of outside countries.

lol.

Well...okay, so oversimplified and...not really. But, y'all get the gist. LOL...er.. .o/

and previously, also:
http://www.dailypaul.com/294113/michio-kaku-famed-theoretica...

P.S. Don't y'all wish Ms. Oksana Boyko were here in America to confront 'our' political trash-class whoredom with the same vim and vigor?

Better yet, y'all think she'd question Putin with similar passion on his crackdown of opposition protestors?

LOL.

Well...so far, at least, Ol' Stasi sex-Spy Maestro and the alleged architect of the American DHS (hard to verify, though not hard to believe, considering how they act) Markus Wolf's pupil (hey, actual socialists and Russo Commies themselves don't deny this) KGB-Vlad hasn't started drone-murders and illegal wars...yet.

This is almost unwatchable.

I wonder how LL is doing at Yahoo news

LL was excellent on RT but I haven't followed her since she left for Yahoo News. I'm under the impression that Yahoo gave her a big pay raise so I don't blame her for leaving. But I wonder what percentage of people who watched her on RT followed her to Yahoo. She might've hurt her longer term chances of success but it's hard to say. In any case, I still think she probably made the right decision to take the money while it was there.

yup, agreed on all points cited;

definitely miss an intelligent, informed hostess in econ matters at RT, let alone else where in the broadcast sphere: http://www.dailypaul.com/302877#comment-3233672

well, you know if people tuned in, to specifically hear her point of view while she was hosting Capital Account, those were most likely r3VOL, Misesians/Austrians, Peter Schiff/Mike Maloney/Jim Rogers/Jim Grant/Jim Rickards/John Williams/Max Keiser fans, and/or regular ZeroHedge and Karl Denninger readers.

it is strange; you'd think the same fan base would easily transfer over to Yahoo. But, I think it also has to do with the format; Cap. Acct. was a regularly scheduled 30min broadcast show, and not just cut up topical segments. And it seems, her Yahoo gig is more sporadic, in terms of content regularity. I haven't watched her yahoo stuff in awhile, but not even sure if her gig there is even a daily, regularly scheduled show.

Hope Lauren finds a much more consistent, broadcast format to share her views.

Then again, even the 'liberal' Alyona, when she left RT for HuffPostLive, her web-presence/'viral-ness' seem far more contained.

I've rarely seen her stuff, even online, unless one specifically search her latest stuff at HuffPost.

Yeah: all these former RT people seem to lose their luster, when they leave, for whatever reason. I truly miss Dina Gusovsky, possibly the first one to interview Ron Paul in depth from RT and MSM et al during 2007-2008 cycle. She occasionally writes for the Examiner, but again, like others who've left RT, her web-cachet seems to have fallen off the map, for whatever reason, afterwards...
