Mitch McConnell Is Now Tea Party Enemy No. 1

by Patricia Murphy | The Daily Beast

Tea Party anger at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell raged from a simmer to a rolling boil Thursday as details emerged about his role to strike a deal with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to end the government shutdown and temporarily raise the nation’s debt ceiling.

McConnell had been noticeably absent from previous Senate fights this year as he geared up for a Tea Party challenge from Kentucky businessman Matt Bevin in 2014, followed by a likely general-election battle against the state’s well-funded Democratic secretary of state, Alison Lundergan Grimes. But McConnell stepped into the fray last week to broker an agreement with Democrats to reopen the government as the Republican Party sank to its lowest approval ratings in decades and House Republicans dissolved into disarray over the best way to proceed.

McConnell told Politico on Thursday that his goal in forging the compromise was to “to punt the ball to a better place on the field without raising taxes or busting the [spending] caps.” But the senator’s decision to take the lead in finding a resolution to the standoff only left Tea Party activists further enraged at the man they had already targeted as Enemy No. 1 in the 2014 midterm elections.

Remember Scott Brown in MA

he caught fire at exactly the right time with this sound bite:

E N T I R E E L E C T I O N S can turn on a soundbite.

Bevin just needs to hang in there and be patient, wait for his opening, and when he sees it, strike!

Considering the climate, and the various storm systems and unpredicatable wins - he's got a shot. He just has to hang in there. Debates are key. (see above)

Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.

I hope that is what Rand's strategy is with McConnell. 'Principles' is a word that has no meaning to McConnell. How can a state like Kentucky have two Senators from the same party that are more diametrically opposed to one another than Rand and McConnell?

They are not opposed to one another.

That is why Rand I sold the people out and my dad Paul endosed Mitch. Rand is a sell out! The people of Ky need to fire Mitch next year, and send Rand the scum Paul packing in 2016!

Stand With True Libertarians!
Fire Mitch and Rand!

Please show his primary challenger

Some love. Matt Bevin could use a boost in likes and twitter followers. Heard a radio intdrview wih last week...sounds promising.

He could catch fire

Any little event could set the guy on fire.

Scott Brown - a freaking Republican - won up here in MA. There was a tea party surge, and brown was considered a tea-partiy-ier. So he got in. On a youtube that went viral:

"It is not the democrat's seat, and it is not the Kennedy's seat. It is the people's seat."

That line is what won it for him. Total fluke, combined with a tea party surge.

Then he got voted out for the real deal Elizabeth Warren, for the other side. Frankly I prefer Beth, because she's got such fire, to Scott Brown's luke warm Republican schtick.

Rand now has to worry about being painted as a 'moderate.' I don't think he has to worry too much, because Cruz is bound to crash. He probably has to worry more about fatso from New Jersey.

If McConnell Gets Booted, Guess what?......

Where is Rand Paul in all

Where is Rand Paul in all this? He's the one cozying up to Mitch McConnell. There is no surprise in McConnell's big deal for Kentucky. Rand must have known.

Rand's got a tightrope to walk

that is about as wide as a piece of thread.

McConnell Boot to the Head

Sounds good to me.

I want to see McConnell booted OUT more than anyone else!

Bump this post for Ron Paul's sake!

Ron Paul spent a lifetime trying to educate the masses about liberty, including us, and encouraged us to get involved. Let's make Ron Paul proud of what we learned from him.

We can make the difference, ..we are the future!

Traitors to a party's alleged

Traitors to a party's alleged ideology are doubly despicable. One expects Democrats to be fascists. Yes, I fully realize that both political parties are controlled by global interests. At least, the blatant traitors need to be purged from the GOP until ALL political parties can be appropriately banned.

rand endorsed mitch. love

rand endorsed mitch. love him!! the gop needs to be fossil fuel sooner then later.

Rand might as well get on his knees and suck off mitch so we know where he kneels.

Dude shut up.

Do you have a stalker-like relationship with Rand Paul in that you need to bring up how much you hate him in every single thread? Seriously, get a girlfriend/boyfriend.
