I encourage you to bring all your interests here

We all came in from a wide variety of interests and backgrounds. All from someplace different, and we all converged at a moment in time.

It was an era, and now we're entering a new era. Pay attention. There is going to be tumult.

Let's just do one thing and stop criticizing each other. Let's just take a step back and share, without the need to fight about it. Everything does not have to be an argument.

We're draining our energy. The negativity just drives people away. It doesn't solve any problems.

Just remember - we're all united here by a moment in time. We're a cosmic family, brought together by a wide array of circumstances. All brought together for a reason. If that reason is to be found, it is to be found in yourself, and in expressing that self.

Don't just copy the media's negativity. That is such a bore. Get to connecting with other people. Find out what we're doing here together.

P.S. I have "market socialism" in the diagram because I ran into one of my old Ron Paul buddies at the grocery store. He'd grown a beard. And he called himself a "market socialist" and I said, that's great. I don't really care because it is nice to see you, and we really shared some good and interesting times. And now we're all shooting off into space, on our own different trajectories. Like graduating from high school or something.

But just remember, we're all still friends. We were all part of that era, and shared that moment in time.

Otherwise, pretty good summary of our main divisions.

Got this gem from

Ira Freeman http://youtu.be/OPR3GlpQQJA. It made my day and it reminded me of so many people here on DP. What a wonderful thing to share!

Yes, Michael.

A common cause brought us all together. We showed the power of the people to unite and create a new paradigm that was better than the old model.

Like JFK and MLK before him, Dr. Paul put peaceful prosperity above war and destruction.

The old model rose up to fight us to protect their power but we exposed their weakness.

Their weakness is our power.

Keep it together!

How I long for the days when the comment section was not riddled with games of "who can launch the wittiest assault on the person with whom she disagrees" and relevant information (for or against a given thesis) abounded. Wouldn't it be nice if, instead of truthers and believers calling each other petty names to express a position on one side or the other they simply commented "agree" or "disagree" (or used the voting function) to register those opinions if they didn't have contradictory facts to present?

Unlearning and self-teaching since 2008. Thanks, Dr. Paul!

Does this mean the ban is off? I hope so, because "sometimes you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right". And what I saw was GOOD and others don't want to see that, prefer showing me what I have seen for years, over a decade, and now I see through it, and don't expect others to suddenly see what I see, but I appreciate the opportunity to express my own discovery.

It means that we're all in relationship with one another.

And that means we find ways to get along.

And any bed we make, we have to sleep in.

It means I'm not here to bail anyone out if they get themselves up the creek without the paddle.

You got banned once. If you want to do the same things that got you banned before, that is your choice, but don't expect a different outcome.

The days of me giving people multiple, multiple chances is over. I think it encourages misbehavior.

It means I expect people to act like adults. And that means sharing, not preaching.

People who want to preach - whether that be about religion, politics, ideology, morality etc likely won't do well here going forward.

Anyone here sowing discord isn't going to last.

I hope that answers your question.

He's the man.

Yes, it answers my question. I did not know or understand the passion for the subject that many found provocative, and divisionary. I really didn't have a clue.

It was like pointing out something I found really neat to my parents and they freaked out like I had found a poisionous reptile. The reptile was cool to me, really a beautiful animal. I had no idea that it was what it is to many here. Now I know. And I still think the reptile is really beautiful. They can say whatever they want about retiles being mean and ugly.. that's their relationship with reptiles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfX9iFTrCEY

Thank you for the second chance :D

There is a way to disagree without becoming disagreeable

Sometimes frustration sets in and one or both parties resort to name calling or a personal attack, you can't win that way, no matter how good it makes you feel. We have an uphill climb and seeing how skilled we are at by putting down our opponent does not achieve anything but hard feelings. It's so much easier to alienate someone than it is to win their understanding.

Here here!

Well said! :)

Love this.

And I apologize to everyone here that I have myself been un-constructively critical at times in the past.

Very appropriate. Maybe it's an internet thing that every conversation has to be a controversy that rapidly descends into a slanging match.

One very important thing you said here Michael is "Pay attention". I believe most of the communication problems arise because we do not pay attention to what is being said or assume too quickly that we understand what has been written. This may take more time but perhaps it will help to lead us into a greater understanding of what each of us is trying to say.

It must also be a given that we all have the right to change our minds and we should not be afraid to do so. This is more likely to happen if we "Pay attention".

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

This playground can always use some kindness.

Nice thoughts.
