Russell Brand: "Socialist Egalitarian Society"... Sounds Foolproof

Definitely agree with his assessment of politics and refusal to participate in sham elections. Disagree with his proposed solutions. He essentially took 10 minutes to say, "TAX THE WEALTHY." Heard it already. Think its been tried. Not particularly original. Always seems to backfire on the middle class. Some bloggers are calling this a cry for Revolution! HAH! Since when does revolution include greater taxation? All successful revolutions have been a revolt against GOVERNMENTS and their IMPOSED taxes on the public! We don't revolt against CORPORATIONS! They cannot control us through force. His solutions are antithetical to change! They are quite frankly MORE OF THE SAME.
"Socialist Egalitarian Society" means an all-perfect government forcefully taking all the wealth and giving equal amounts to every citizen. Sounds foolproof. Absolutely no room for abuse or deception in that type of system.

I'd like to counter "Socialist Egalitarian Society" with...

Bobby Casey of Global Wealth Protection shares his favorite asset protection tips, plus how he saved one of his clients $3 million with them! Bobby discusses investing in Latvia, why you should consider buying real estate in Riga, and the Latvian government’s new law on dual citizenship. Plus, how the IRS screwed hundreds of expats in its voluntary disclosure program, and an update on Bobby’s Global Escape Hatch conference.

Thank you for bringing sanity back to the DP

I find it unsettling that people here are cheering Marx.

I nominate Russel Brand to

I nominate Russel Brand to start off this socialist egalitarian society by giving away all his money.

OK OK, I'll accept just 75%.

I would stop calling him a hypocrite if

he would become a French citizen, and help reverse the flow of the wealthy French leaving due to that 75% tax rate.

Thanks for reposting this in a new thread

Double the Russell today, thanks!

The comments that you feel you need to start a brand new thread for with your own views expressed in the headline are directed at, "Energy companies and ANY Companies EXPLOITING THE ENVIRONMENT."

Nowhere does he say to apply heavy taxation to ALL companies as you would like people to believe.

Thanks for posting this again!

because of the fascist state!

Do you think energy companies or ANY company could expolit the environment without the assistance of the state? The guvmint (legislative, executive and judicial branches) and companies are sleeping together! Wake up!!

Wide Awake!

I'd prefer no corporations or any form of governance, to be honest. I was talking of Russell's views, NOT my own. Well aware the world runs on a Corporatocracy.

No one has all the answers

and that most definitely includes Brand.

He's not a political scientist or anything of the sort, so it can't be expected that he will even come close to an answer; the man's a comedian and a comedian's job is to make people laugh.

I say he's doing his job damn well though if he's making us laugh and dissing the political system, crony-capitalistic corporations, etc.
