I have taken a new position on this.

See my response below. My gut may not be 100%, but it has seldom failed me.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

And I trust your gut feelings

Something is wrong with it. It is just too silly.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Just be sure to keep us up to date

on the lawsuit that follows. I've seen the videos where the protesters inform the cops of the law. I also know for a fact that if one of us went before a judge and claimed we didn't know somethign was illegal the judge would tell us that is no excuse. The same should go for the cops. They can't just tell you they aren't there to debate law with you; they must obey the law whether they like/agree with it or not; period.

Keep up the good work and I hope one day I'll be able to join you in a march or two.

Wow, that was well needed,

you rock camera man!!!!!!!!! The power of the camera, amazing! I respect peace officers but I wonder when these guys put on their uniform the next morning if the talk of being a piece of shit might start to seep inside their minds on what they were doing. Stand up for freedom or get the hell out of the way!!!!!!!!!!!

There are no "peace officers"...

When I was a boy in the 60's we had "peace officers". Today we have "Law Enforcement Officers" and the difference is like night and day. I remember being pulled over for certain offenses as a teen and the peace officers were polite and non-threatening. They usually gave us a warning and sent us on our way with a "drive safe". Although they carried a side arm they would almost never unholster it. "Shoot first" was pretty much unheard of and unless fired upon there was little fear that a peace officer would ever fire at you or injure an innocent bystander. "Law Enforcement Officers" (goons) will shoot you for saying a word. Shoot you in the back if you try to run (unheard of in the 60's). Taser you to death in many cases because you dared to speak of the "constitution" or is you say anything about them violating their "oath".

In short, the peace officer would try to serve the citizen and the law enforcement officer tries to subjugate the slave...

Beware the cult of "government"...

I see your point and I hope the transparency of online

I see your point and I hope the transparency of online exposure might educate those authoritarians that oppression is evil. Thanks for the insight, onward for LIBERTY!!

Texas protesters are a bunch

Texas protesters are a bunch of pussies. All bark, no bite.

Feel free to post a video

of you confronting the cops. We'll wait.

"Don't mess with Texas"

I hear that crap from Texans CONSTANTLY, as if they imagine themselves to be some sort of rugged cowboys of yore. It wouldn't be so bad...except that Texans are constantly 'messed with', and put fools such as Perry into office.

I know many Texans have this...'thing' about Texan pride, but they're no different from any other set of assholes from any other state, mine included. Bunch of loudmouth do-nothings who exist only to piss and moan, and wouldn't know what to do with themselves if there was nothing to piss and moan about.

Not saying anything about this particular incident, just my general impression of Texans. All bark, no bite as you said.

Illegal arrests at Texas State Capital

Published on Oct 27, 2013

10-26-13 Two Open Carry Texas Members Were Illegally Arrested For Legally Carrying Holstered Replica Pre-1899 Black Powder Revolvers.

TX PC 46.01 (3) a-b exempts pre-1899 originals or BP replicas from meeting the legal definition of a firearm, their for they cannot meet the legal definition of a handgun.

There was a "Lets Roll" rally (a constitution rally) at the capital on 10-26-13 and the 2 Open Carry Texas members attended peacefully open carrying the bp revolvers.

Captain Sheere TX-DPS (512-475-4820) Is under the belief that Laws grant rights and because there is no law saying you can OC them, that you cant. He has given to order to arrest any citizen that lawfully carry's a gun on the grounds.

We all know that laws only restrict rights, not grant them. So if there is no law says you cant, then you can.

........But then again when you are a tyrant and a traitor to the constitution, We can see how he would feel differently.

You don't believe "they" are going to take your guns?.... Think "naaw it wont happen."........ Well here it is folks.....

I was there.

Carry on brother.

9-11 was a panda job.

Near Riot???? I think not.

It's hard to take sensational headlines serious. I didn't see an anxious or fearful look on a single face. BTW, I watched the video without sound.

"A vote for the lesser of two evils is a vote to keep things the same", Buckminster Fuller..
A choice for liberty is always a choice for liberty.

Agreed

What is a "near-riot"? Something is either a riot, or it is not. A number of people standing around does not constitute a "near riot". Sensationalizing things makes for a lack of credibility, and it detracts from otherwise important points or information.

lol

The sound didn't matter. It is actions that speak louder than words.

In the end, they obeyed their masters.

It's not only the elected officials who must open the Constitution, We the People need to as well.

If the Constitution is a bit overwhelming, perhaps Publius Huldah would be a good start.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

And how does that imply a near riot??????

You apparently have never seen a real riot. Words have meanings, (see below). When we misuse words then our communications lose validity. Three limp protesters with ten people yelling and a hundred curious bystanders don't imply a near riot. BTW, I would have loved to see all the curious bystanders actually take a seat, and join the protesters. Maybe next time.

FYI, New Oxford Dictionary defines,
riot |ˈrīət|:
noun
1. a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd: riots broke out in the capital | [ as modifier ] : riot police.
verb [ no obj. ]
1. take part in a violent public disturbance: students rioted in Paris | (as noun rioting) : a night of rioting.

A choice for liberty is always a choice for liberty.

"You apparently have never seen a real riot."

Well, that is for another topic.

Bill, I AGREED with your post! Maybe re-read it to see my gist?

10-26-13 Two members of Open Carry Texas were illegally arrested by TX-DPS at the Austin State Capital.

They were peacefully openly carrying holstered replica pre-1899 black-powder revolvers. Completely legal to do.

These are short un-edited clips of trying to talk to one of the officers about the arrest afterwards.

NOTE: Both arrested are out on bonds facing trumped up charges of criminal trespassing.

Obviously the police are boss

Obviously the police are boss no matter who you think you're kidding with your little bang bang.

And you'll do what you're told afterwards too.

Maybe you can twirl a few signs of protest or protest online. lol

What IS the point of these demonstrations?

It's not like these antique weapons are going to defend us from big mean government.

Or are the protesters trying to press the police to follow the law? Sort of like pulling a cop over for speeding?

Their going to mess it up

Their going to mess it up for all of us antique gun collectors. You can bet if they keep doing silly crap like this laws WILL be passed and we will all pay. I agree, their just begging for more laws doing this childish stuff. Real fortitude would be doing it with outlawed weapons.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

((( "outlawed weapons" )))

Therein lies the answer.

The Constitution is the Law of the Land. The 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed.

Any law, ordinance or statute REPUGNANT to the Constitution is null and void.

Those protestors keep citing an ordinance which supposedly allows replicas/toys, but are being detained and hauled off - for a replica! Not once [at least from what I could hear] did they cite their natural-born right to "bear arms" to the police and actually carry one, which shall not be infringed.

They are setting a HORRIBLE example. Which makes me ponder, are they left-wing socialists attempting to establish new precedent?

Camera, t-shirts and a few conspiring folks do not a Patriot make.

Hey "Republic of Texas TV", I am calling you out. Care to chat, hoss?

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Which reminds me of that Patterson interview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDnUdaPpen8

Jerry Patterson is running for Lieutenant Governor of Texas. He wrote the clause that excludes antique firearms. He also says that he carries on public lands because laws have to conform to the Constitution.

"I don't go with nullification; I just go with ignoring." Patterson at the 6:44 mark

Yep, not being handled right

All they are going to do is get antique firearms added to the list the antigunners would like to see banned. Whats next? slingshots?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

I have seen some anti gun comments on the youtube vid page

and it seems that most are mad due to the LANGUAGE used by the open carry activists and supporters. One thing I would like to ask those who are scared of the "words used" is, have you ever been arrested or pulled over before?

Reason I ask is, I have been pulled over, had pigs point ar-15s at me and the words that come out of their mouth during these altercations are MUCH WORSE, more harsh and plain belittling to say the least.

People think we need to respect authority, submit, be passive and just do as we are told and as free men the FIRST Amendment is our first right whether people agree or disagree with it.

Those pigs WERE pieces of shit for doing what they did especially if they are arresting people for something that isn't even illegal. I will say though that there will odds are be a new bill in the texas legislation that bans ALL firearms, replicas or anything that could be looked at like a firearm soon enough.

The amount of gun fearing americans is on the rise and that in itself is actually a good thing for us MINUS the bullshit laws that all these morons will be able to pass. All I have to say though is, a law only works if we follow it and taking our 1st and 2nd amendment rights are NOT laws that we will ever follow.

14 years old, strip searched on a dock at rifle point

I was fourteen years old. I was with four friends on a trail down by the Willamette river and we were throwing rocks at a sign across a ravine. We walked back up the trail to the boat ramp where there is a rock bar and we walked out on it to give some ducks the rest of my bag of potato chips. I had just finished feeding the ducks and we were walking off when a police boat flashed its lights and yelled over the loud speaker while a second officer on the boat had his gun pointed at us and instructed us to lay down on the dock. One of my friends ran, but there were another three squad cars and two under-cover cars parked around the corner and they caught him and dragged him out to the dock with the rest of us. We were surrounded with multiple guns pointed at us on a dock as the officer told my friend to stand up and drop his pants because they were "too baggy" and he searched the rest of us as we watched a K-9 team head down the trail where we were.

Any level-headed person would have immediately concluded that we had been doing nothing wrong, but we were talked to like drug dealers or enemy combatants. The cops yelled words that made us cringe and had never been used toward any of us before. The worst part of the confrontation was that one of the officers pointing his Remington 870 at us was the campus officer at the middle school that we all attended; this man knew each of us by name. Apparently, someone living near where we had been throwing the rocks had heard the popping of the sign that we were throwing them at and reported a shooting. The cops were not interested in our story and were quite sad at the report of the K-9 team that no narcotics had been found on the trail.

These cops on this video are tools of our oppressors. They do not deserve kind words. Our civility will not be reciprocated.

The "language" used

A quick opinion: the language as well as posturing used is significant in an activist mode/protest situation as the protest is mean to convey a message to all people. Because cops sometime use foul language does not make it o.k....in fact, the opposite could be true. A group of people who need to be reached is the seniors in the country and they tend to connect LANGUAGE with a poor upbringing and lack of education. If one is going to take risks to get a message heard, it might be valuable to consider deleting screaming and foul mouthedness from one's approach. I remember someone on this board who once made the observation that we don't see Dr. Paul taking the bait and not maintaining his air of calm, correct, confidence/firmness. Believe the issue, state it calmly , and stand your ground might be more effective approach to presenting a position.

Foul language serves no good purpose.

And it brings disgrace to the cause.
