We are in a de facto Civil War in this country and we don't realize it.

We are in a de facto Civil War in this country. It is we, the people pitted against a single party, socialist government entity that is more concerned with supplying themselves with billions of rounds of ammunition while, at the same time, decreasing our civil liberties and rights and increasing our taxes rather than scaling back the prison industrial complex nationally and the military industrial complex globally that will soon be utilized locally.

This socialist regime places a far greater premium on dividing and discrediting American citizens and turning us all against one another through socio-economic strata, race, and religion bating than putting together a common goal that we can all cling to and fight for, something called the American dream.

There is no more American dream. There is no more middle class. There is only greed and a, "give me what I can get or I'll take it" attitude.

We have forgotten that charge so long ago asked of us;

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country."

It wasn't this way in 1860. At least the politicians had a belief of what their country should be. And the people believed, too. No matter which side they stood on, they believed in their cause. Today, the politicians sell out to the highest bidder and the highest bidder is RARELY the American people!

Very few Americans have the cojones to go out and make a stand aganst tyranny, whether it be peaceful or violent, as the Founding Fathers did. We just sit around and blame the false left-right paradigm and play right into the single party system waiting for some pie in the sky dream to materialize and save us. I've got news for you, America. No one is coming. No one is coming to save the day. Either we, the people will save ourselves or we, the people will be enslaved forever.

The "enemy" spies on us. The "enemy" supplies itself with ammo and armor and food and water. The "enemy" degrades us in the air and on the road.

The "enemy" knows FULL well that they are in a battle for this country.

Its about time that we, the people realized it, as well!

a student of the original. My comment was very much in line with his style. The down votes here prove it. Mr. Adams did not say things to people to be agreeable or to tell them things they already believed. He was brash, obnoxious, and he CHALLENGED his listeners (or those within earshot - willing and unwilling) to think differently so that they might see more clearly, and then take the only action that will produce the desired result.

Frankly, they have acquiesced, nearly 150 years ago, and ever since, when they consented to the direct rule of congress via the 14th Amendment federal citizenship. The presumption of federal citizenship of all Americans, and their tacit acceptance of it, have permitted TPTB to enact their Marxist dream of effectively eliminating the national boundries of the States and abdicating their rightful national state governments under their Common Law. By consenting to the private law jurisdiction of 14th Amendment Federal citizenship, they have accepted the status of subject under Congress outside the jurisdiction of the Constitution. Where they no longer have Natural Rights, but are given privileges called Civil Rights and benefits that they pay for with their lives and their property.

They do not know what the problem is because they do not know the law and that it is they who are the problem. Like Dorothy, thay have always possessed the ability to get back home at any time they wished. They are just too comfortable receiving the benefits their masters bestow upon them, or to busy paying for them to see the cage they're in and the evil they consent to and support with their participation.

Political consistently

If the writer is so naive as to believe that the politicians in Washington in 1860 were less likely to be for sale I suggest he look into the Pacific Railroad Acts of 1862 and 1864. Every politician in D.C. was for sale, then, before and since.

It is very dangerous for voters to accept politicians with causes. They do the most damage to liberty and prosperity.

Lincoln had a cause - force the South back into the Union which led to Lincoln maneuvering the South to fire on Fort Sumter giving him an excuse to have 750,000 soldiers and civilians murdered.

Teddy Roosevelt had a cause - an American empire which began with the murder of 250,000 Filipinos and gave us the beginnings of the military-industrial-banking-complex.

Wilson had a cause -- the League of Nations which cost 100,000 lives in WWI. A war which he thought would create a demand with the American people for a world government.

FDR had a cause -- the New Deal which ultimately led to FDR manipulating the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor giving us WWII.

LBJ had a cause -- the Great Society which led to Obamacare. He also wanted to be the president who stopped Communism in Asia which led to the manufacture of the Tonkin gulf incident and 58,000 dead Americans.

Be careful in wishing for politicians with a cause, you might get what you wish for with unintended consequences.

You don't have to do anything for your country except to be a self sustaining productive citizen who isn't looking for a handout.

because its 'the truth that will set us free'. Unfortunately people are too often in love with the fairy tales that they have been indoctrinated with since they were children.
There were those men including Thomas Jefferson & James Madison who had a vision for America as a nation made up of free men governing themselves. There were men such as Thomas Paine who wrote about the principles of Liberty. At the same time, there were those in America who wanted to establish the kind of system that was in England at the time. They just wanted to be the new 'royalty' in the new nation. They wanted to establish a partnership between insider favored businessmen and those in a new centralized national government - to the detriment of everyone else. Alexander Hamilton was one of these individuals.

This has been going on for a long time.

Those founders who wanted a new government truly based on Liberty warned of the need to be constantly vigilant and protective of indivual rights to an extent not seen previously. (But always remember that no mortal men are perfect. We must pay attention to what is done in our name.)

Thomas Jefferson warned during the American Revolution:

"From the conclusion of the war we shall be going down hill. It will not be necessary to resort every moment to the people for support. They will be forgotten, therefore, and their rights disregarded. They will forget themselves, but in the sole faculty of making money, and will never think of uniting to effect a due respect for their rights. "

This is the country I was born into. Eisenhower warned us of the military industrial complex. This was the country I was born into.

Yes, we were "more secure" in our Liberty under the Articles.

The Constitution gave us something we didn't have - a national legislature.

I can't fathom why the Framers, who were quite well versed in the idea that power is delegated from the People, came up with the idea of legislative or executive power. After all, you have no right to make laws for me, nor I for you, so how and where did we get that power to delegate to a legislature? Or the power to enforce those laws we don't have the power to pass?

This is exactly where Americans have failed miserably

at understanding our laws. The legislature has the power to regulate itself and commercial entities that contract for limited liability with the State or Federal Government. No where in our laws is the legislature authorized to regulate the People hence Statutory code has no lawful application to the people except through the individual's own consent.

If people understood this fact clearly then we could defend our freedom and uphold our laws through consciously setting precedent and remind congress and the courts that they do not have the lawful authority to regulate the People through legislative acts. This is the prime failure of Americans.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

yes and a few points

1. the framers were made up of at least two opposing groups. the body of the federal constitution and the bill of rights express the opposing ideologies of Hamilton and Jefferson. They were NOT in accord.
2. The legislature is not exercising delegated power when it writes statutes that micromanage our private affairs (those that don't pose a threat to or harm another.) The legislature is exercising brute force.
---government is a militant entity that occupies society in order to control and extract maximum wealth.
---governmental power is the power to harm with legal impunity.-this is not a delegated power as no individual possesses such authority.
---government is NOT a benevolent management company that handles our mutually owned resources. (as it is often characterized.)

In truth, technically speaking, we've been hijacked in 1913 by NWO banksters, but 'legally' we've been officially a Police State since FDR signed the War Powers Act/National Emergencies Act in 1933, and EVERY SINGLE POTUS since have annually renewed it.

Yup, not much talked about, but not metaphorically, but LITERALLY we've always lived in an official police state/martial law, since 1933. No really, really:

On November 19, 1973, the Special Committee on the Termination of the National Emergency presented Senate Report 93-549 at the first session of the 93rd Congress. The Introduction to the report, an examination of existing War and Emergency Powers Acts, states:

“Since March 9, 1933, the United States has been in a state of declared national emergency. In fact, there are now in effect four presidentially-proclaimed states of national emergency: In addition to the national emergency declared by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, there are also the national emergency proclaimed by President Harry S. Truman on December 16, 1950, during the Korean conflict, and the states of national emergency declared by President Richard M. Nixon on March 23, 1970, and August 15, 1971.”[1]

“These proclamations give force to 470 provisions of Federal law. These hundreds of statutes delegate to the President extraordinary powers, ordinarily exercised by the Congress, which affect the lives of American citizens in a host of all-encompassing manners. To me, yesterday and today were just another act in the theater of the absurd.
