Ben Swann: Will Justin Amash lose his seat in 2014?

Congressman Amash (R-MI), a libertarian leaning republican, is a hero to those who support him. Amash has a spotless record when it comes to core conservative values. In fact, he’s even won awards for his strong votes. Yet, his support of civil liberties and sound economic policy have caused disdain from neoconservatives.

Karl Rove recently attacked Amash on national TV saying that he is far more liberal and votes with Nancy Pelosi more than any other House republican. In fact, the exact inverse is true. Amash votes against Pelosi more than any other House republican.

Regardless, businessman Brian Ellis is expected to formally announce his campaign against Amash in the coming days. Ellis says that Michigan deserves a more “traditional conservative”. Perhaps he’s referring to the likes of George Bush, Lindsey Graham and John McCain.

Amash 3rd Term

Poll: Third District voters disapprove of Amash, Congress' handling of government shutdown

(should say 'Republicans' rather than 'Amash'?)

Can't believe he'll be running for his 3rd term already! (August 2014)

When's the election?

Is there a money bomb page?

I agree with the previous commenter that we need to keep all our liberty candidates in office, and get more.

How do the voters feel about Amash?

Will he have repeat support?

Sounds like he's tried to do what our country needs?

Pure evil

Rove and his psychotic followers make my head explode.

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

Just donated. He's not even

Just donated. He's not even in my state!

Just Donated

And he is not in mine either but he is a good one that we need to keep him in congress, and when the SHTF someone please make sure that Rove is not left standing!

I will contribute when and

I will contribute when and what I can to all liberty candidates regardless of state. We need them all.

I know it seems like you cant

I know it seems like you cant get elected without money, but god dammit im still waiting for someone to garner so much support that the nomination is unquestionable, BASED ON HIS OR HER IDEALS.....im not knocking the money bomb, but i WILL wait for the day where MONEY is taken OUT of politics, assuming "politics" is still around, i wont miss it if it aint

Goodluck amash, really hope you reach the finish line with us, you're by far one of the few in congress with their finger close to the pulse of liberty

What do you guys think is a good goal?

I would say $400k. And that might be quite a bit for a House of Rep candidate so 400 might not even be achievable. I don't think we ever broke 1.5M for Ron in 2012 and he was a presidential candidate. Tell me what you guys think.

Justin needs to state a goal

Justin needs to state a goal and leave it to us.

Amash needs a moneybomb

The Money Masters (apparently that are backing Ellis) will not show up for Amash. It has to be us. So what is it going to be DP community?

I just added it.

Thanks for the link.

Amash doesn't have a chance :(

I live next to Amash's district in the Mitten State and I hate to say it but he has ZERO shot. Brian Ellis has enough money to drown Justin and he has DEEP neo-con connections throughout the State. Ellis is firing up the George Romney machine throughout MI and it's going to be a full on assault. The only thing that would save Amash would be to have Dr. Paul make all his campaign stops with him. Grand Rapids is a HEAVY religious right neo-con district and Justin doesn't dance enough for them.

Final thought is that Ellis is a banksters and they always win, sorry it's the way of the world. It was a good run Mr. Amash and thank you.

Is that the same Ellis family who owns all the parking lots

All the parking lots in Grand Rapids? The ones who charge confiscatory rates for parking with their near monopoly in downtown Grand Rapids? http://www.ellisparking.com/
If it is, this guy has some serious money and some real hard feelings from anyone who had to pay to park their car in GR.

There is a campaign slogan in there someplace, any creative minds here?

Amash DOES have a chance :)

Brian Ellis doesn't have the internet.

Brian Ellis doesn't have US.

Are we just going to let Amash lose?

I don't think so.

Not if my impression of this community is in any way accurate.

adam t

Justin is in fact vulnerable.

Not only do the establishment want him OUSTED once and for all, so do the democrats [though they are one and the same].

There is MAJOR money backing this effort.

Please donate whatever frn's you can to Justin. It is right on the front page:

Hit him hard, but please use tact. Read over the pro-Amash comments before posting to get a good idea:

is a a 15-year member of the East Grand Rapids Board of Education which recently implemented common core. If we don't get out in front of this and fund and fight for Amash, he will get taken down.

Lord I hope not. He's the best in congress - better than Rand.

And anytime bastards like Rove, or Cheney, or Runsfeld, or Hannity, or McCain or Graham, or Medved, or King or nearly anyone from the GOP disses you, then you KNOW you're doing the right thing.

Not only must we KEEP our few good ones in congress, we have to grow.

Otherwise it's O-V-E-R.

This will be the race to watch!

It's going to be close.
Ellis has business $$$ on his side.

The dems are throwing money at this too to ensure Justin is defeated.

What moron down voted this?

Obviously the just read the title and that's it. I would think seeing that Ben Swann wrote it would give them a clue that it's a positive article.

I Don't Know, But It's NOT Ben Swann!

It's Michael Lotfi.

People keep posting items as Ben Swann, and it's not him.

At least 6 other writers + Staff post to his website.

Unfortunately, you can only see who wrote it AFTER you click the link.

And, when they re-post to facebook, there is no name at all.

So, it gets really confusing, and upsetting to big Ben Swann fans.

Ben's the Best! (the others not so much) ;)

Ben Swann posted it

And that's the point, not that he wrote the article.

Do you mean to say.....

because it's on his website he knows it's there and has read it? ;)

That may not necessarily be the case. He's a busy guy!

And my computer says:

"Posted by Michael Lotfi" ;)

And that IS the point!

Didn't you post above Ben Swann wrote it? ;)

Ben Swann MAY OR MAY NOT GET AROUND TO READING (or critiquing) IT.

(maybe the bottom disclaimer should be expanded?)

Just like Ron Paul, unless I see/hear Ben say it, I don't believe he said it.

And unless the byline is Ben Swann ONLY, I may not trust he wrote it.

You want Ben Swann Truth, Quality, and Excellence....

....look for it from THE ORIGINAL (one and only Ben!)

If there were enough of Ben Swann to go around, he would not need these other people posting articles. (Lots of people want ONLY HIM!)

Them the facts I'm sticking to (for now!) ;)

[Besides, Ben doesn't want you following him blindly. He wants you to think for yourselves. Which is why his pieces try to just lay out all the facts without taking sides and why he plans on not endorsing anyone (he said).]
