Oh Lord,

wouldn't this be FANTASTIC if the non sign up of OphamaCare turned into a MASS act of civil disobedience?
What can "they" do when an entire Nation says NO!?
Not living in the US, there is nothing much I can do, but how about US DPer's put up signage calling for civil disobedience against OphamaCare?

Is it civil disobedience if

the government doesn't let you comply with the law? :)

Government induced Civil Disobedience?

It couldn't get much sweeter than that could it? lol

Its actually 0 people. The 6

Its actually 0 people. The 6 they listed were really programmers testing the code...

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

Sounds much more realistic for sure

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

V.A. Forcing It

My husband got a letter from the VA today...something like 10 pages of total BS. I looked at it and saw that the VA is putting him under ObamaCrap...WE DONT WANT IT. No..we can not afford insurance. We dont have any. When I go to the doctor, I pay cash. But the doc is getting higher and higher..so I just quit going. As for him, we make payments to the VA.
It seems theres no getting around it. I ran into some Vets today who where raising money. They told me they are being forced into this, and if they try to refuse, the VA will cut them off...WTF???

Obamacare math quiz

If there are 240,144,240 adults in the U.S., and they signed up for Obamacare at a rate of 6 adults/day, how many years would it take for all adults to sign up?

10,965 years +or- 1/2 a year

is my figuring.

You have a lot of faith in

You have a lot of faith in Obamacare. I figured it would take ten times that long.:)

Rats! I forgot the goverment inefficiency quotient!

that has to be at least a multiplier of 10!

I never thought I would say this...

...but maybe Obamacare would work more efficiently if they put it under control of the DMV!LOL

I tried signing up my friend

I have a friend whom has not been insured for over a decade..he is currently unemployed and has no income. This law was designed for people like him. I went through the process of submitting his details only to get an error message once the submit button was pressed. It said that it could not currently verify his data and to try again in the future. What a joke.

I am looking into joining a christian health share for myself as I was issued my papers of cancellation last month.

Why Sign Up Your Friend?

I wonder if I'm the only one thinking this when I read your comment. But, why are you helping your friend sign up? The reason that government programs are easily established is because there are citizens who don't see a problem with letting other people pay for something that they need.

Your friend may very well need insurance, be unemployed, and have no income. But, I still don't see why he is entitled to something that other people are forced to pay for.

I'm just a little surprised to see somebody on the DP that doesn't see the conflict of interest there.

It was just as a test

We were not going to go through with it, we wanted to see if it did or did not work in setting up an account. My friend, whom has never accepted welfare in his life nor would take it..wanted to see if it would work and gave me the okay to start the process. We didn't make it off of page 1.

In addition, yes, this is a stupid law and I am personally not signing up...but if this does go into effect...what are people supposed to do? NOt be insured? I don't know how to answer that question. If I walk around uninsured...I may be fine with dealing with the consequences of my actions, but my family won't. They would go bankrupt to keep me alive if I was in some type of serious situation. That is not fair to my parents and loved ones. How do we deal with that in a political ideological world?

You are correct. Our options

You are correct. Our options are deliberately and systematically being obliterated. Soon there will be none for us to consider.

Yes

And frankly I am terrified. I have really dug around to find a way out of this mess. In doing so and researching it, I don't think I have ever felt the hand of government impacting my life so strongly before. It is a nightmare. It must be defeated.

Hold The Line - people who

Hold The Line - people who are getting dropped and never lived without insurance need to boycott Obamacare. We need to get the word out that you can live without insurance and pay for your yearly medical expenses (catastrophic care will come if we do not cave). Maybe the free market will get a chance after all.

Exactly, kcop!

I haven't had insurance since 2010 (when I last had a full time job). A family member, who is a health professional and knows ACA is crap, suggested I just go for it and sign up... to at least get care while its available. To which I said "No fucking way." Yeah, I *could*, as my income is beneath the freebie cut-off, but to Hell with it; it's a scam, and I will not be a hypocrite.

What would the Founders do?

Amen!

I 100% agree with you! We cannot ever expect to be free from unending government intrusion into our lives until we refuse to have government programs for ANY reason… even if it is to our own personal benefit. Standing firmly on principle is the ONLY way to fight back.

(I haven't had health insurance for 10 years. I've had 4 children in that time, btw.)

Well said!

Right on.

What would the Founders do?

Fudge!

Fudge!

Six, that's still SO MANY MORE than *I* was expecting THE "YES WE CAN" LEECHES to be able to get!

Damn. How I was wrong!

Sabotage?

It sounds so bad I'm starting to wonder if the developers sabotaged it... :-)

I think they're trying to

I think they're trying to make a big deal about the # of people enrolling to get people to accept the law. The media has shifted from repealing the law to how many people are signing up.

Southern Agrarian

Was flipping through channels

last night and stumbled upon some guy talking about obamacare. He was saying that young, healthy people weren't signing up at all. He said it will be a huge failure if only the old and sick are signing up. Then heard a blip from the self appointed king that the website's problems aren't his fault! It's the insurance companies' fault. Nothing is ever this sorry person's fault. (Surprised he didn't blame it on Bush. LOL)

Formerly rprevolutionist

If the law stays, it won't be

If the law stays, it won't be a "failure", it will be a license to continue to steal. We all know young people are not going to sign up. There is zero benefit for them. I believe in that event, the massive costs get passed along to the bulk of people who are already getting shafted. If your rates doubled now, they might increase 10x instead! This will be the event that finally brings about citizen-based revolution in this country and absolutely no sane person looks forward to that upheaval.
