'Obama' wears straightjacket, crowd goes insane

An employee of Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Ky., must have thought he had the costume contest all sewn up when he sauntered into the party wearing an Obama mask and a straightjacket.

And he probably couldn’t believe his luck when he and his two pals actually won the third-place trophy for their Halloween skit “VIP Security,” according to local TV station WZTV.

However, soon after their shining moment, a snafu erupted over their Obama schtick.

“I think it is very, very offensive,” C.E. Timberlake, a local pastor, told the TV station. “And really, that shouldn’t have happened.”

sensitivity?

There are a lot of bright and sensitive people working in hospitals these days. I would love to be a fly on the wall during one of these sessions.

The air will smell like spittle and BS will be flying everywhere.

Have fun JS Medical Center with this one.

Sensibility Training for better morale

Whoever made the decision to put the over-worked hospital staff through a costly and bothersome political-correction course, ought to get themselves some serious, "Sensibility Training", where they might learn better ways to build self-respect, and serve the common good, to build morale rather than degrade everyone equally.

The contestant only came in third place?

The hospital wanted to put the whole staff through sensitivity training, because they voted this guy as the third-place costume winner.

I suppose if they had given him first place, they might have shut the hospital down, and leveled it like Sandy Hook Elementary, eh?

Comment of the day:

"If I had a dollar for every time I(more like 'they have') have been offended I could afford Obamacare."

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

I find you offensive for

I find you offensive for finding me offensive..

stupid people man, no one gives a flying fk if you're "offended". Put on your big boy pants and get over it.

Disrespectful President:

I think it is very, very offensive when a president does not respect his own office.

Of COURSE it's offensive!

A man in a straitjacket wearing an Obama mask is definitely an insult to asylum inmates worldwide.

we should note that this costume came in 3rd place...

...liked the way the newscast ends by informing us the costume only placed 3rd in the contest. Too bad.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

The pastor objected on grounds of disrespecting the POTUS

but the hospital will counter with "diversity training".

It's a political lampoon but they lump it in with racism?

And the black guys involved? I hope the training makes them more senstitive to themselves.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

With all due respect this

With all due respect this kind of mimicry may be deserved but it hardly holds the office of US President in esteem.

You missed the point. It is not the presidents who may or may not merit your lampooning. It is the office of President of USA that may NOT recover from the denigration.

People have been clowning

People have been clowning around with masks like that since at least as far back as Nixon. Everyone thought they were funny way back when, but now they're racist and some way harm "the office of the President of the USA" irreparably. Give me a break.

You're still missing the

You're still missing the point. It has nothing to do with racism for pete's sake. It has to do with respect and honor for the OFFICE of president...geesh! You're destroying yourselves. This doesn't reflect freedom of speech. It's just short of mob rule...a fallback position for the powerless.

I get your point

But they are lampooning a particular person- not the office in general. Why? Because he himself has given disrespect to the office he holds by acting as a dictator bending the laws and issuing orders in opposition to the principles of the country.

What did the hospital expect by choosing a theme of VIP's?

I would have given them first place.

oh,

so what. it's funny. grow up.

Offend away.

I recommend everyone who is offended to go pound sand.

How many hospital staffers feel straight-jacketed by the ACA?

How many have invested huge commitments of time and money to reach the level of competence they operate in at this and every hospital, who have found themselves bound to perform their already stressful jobs, ALONG WITH a NEW burden of federal compliance to endless regulations, AND longer hours for less pay? Add to that the reduction of service they might be able to offer the well-being of their patients because some distant bean-counter gets to make life or death decisions.

It's understandable that they'd want to shed the ACA's straight-jacket they are feeling entrapped in, and put it on where it came from, eh? I'd like to see what the second and first place winners wore, to see if maybe political-correctness limited them to third place.
