Ron Paul’s Podcast Interview – Audit The Fed! 11/1/13Submitted by Valewind on Fri, 11/01/2013 - 12:49
Should the Federal Reserve be audited? According to the leader of the libertarian movement in America, yes. “What it makes me think of is that when they want to invade our privacy – we’re suppose to reveal everything to our government – they say, ‘Oh, if you don’t have anything to hide, what difference does it make?’ You should be allowed to apply that to the government. If they don’t have anything to hide, why shouldn’t the people know what they’re doing?” In other words, Dr. Paul believes there is a double standard of privacy when it comes to a government and its people.
“Auditing the Fed is, I think, the most important thing because we will find out what they’re doing overseas…You realize they spent a lot more money and influence around the world in foreign policy and bailing out banks and foreign governments…This to me is something the American people want to know about.” As more and more Americans have been faced with economic hardship, Dr. Paul believes we are as entitled as ever to know what our government is spending money on. After all, is it right that we spend hundreds of billions of dollars bailout out foreign nations when a city like Detroit is struggling to get anything from the Federal government?
