'Show Me Your Breasts!" - Lawsuit: Ark. Cop Chased and Tased Woman After She Refused to Show Him Her Breasts

LITTLE ROCK (CN) - A city cop in Arkansas chased a woman through her workplace, shooting a Taser at her, because she refused to show him her breasts, the woman claims in court.

Ashlea Bennett sued the City of Haskell, Ark. and its police Officer Brandon Carter, in Federal Court.

She claims Carter "demanded that she expose her breasts to him" after he entered her workplace while on duty and wearing his uniform.

"Carter's demands to the Plaintiff to expose herself to him occurred multiple times," she says in the lawsuit.

Power Play

'Is that a pistol in that deep pocket, or are you just glad to see me?'

Let's play Good Cop, Bad Cop:

As much as we rightly hate abuse of authority around here I'm glad to see many making sport of this story. Certainly, assault is a question of power. Rape is real; but first blush is not always about shyness, especially when frisky foreplay, once lawyers get involved, might promise to make one flush in another sense. And it's my other sense and sensibility, (call it 6th or common, as you will, depending upon the prejudice you might bring to bear), but Cat and Mouse is not always a predatory tussle; and the animation of most cartoons does not genuinely depict real life in most cases. Reading between the lines we gather there was history here as backdrop; chase with no catch; aim with no contact.

The most brilliant depiction of the sometimes nuanced questions of oppression and the dynamics of gender power in our era was geniusly portrayed in David Mamet's 'Oleanna':

The truth of this police report, as usual, but especially if interpersonal, will be about weaving between the lines.

We have Biker rallys here in Hot Springs.

The girls are a lot more cooperative, and you don't have to chase them with tasers.
it is known as the "valley of the vapors" and was neutral ground for the local Indian tribes. it then became a haven for gangsters and gambling.
winters are mild, spring and fall are gorgeous and summer is wickedly oppressive with the heat and humidity.
oh, and meet the locals.

I forgot that reality overcomes fiction in this weird era.

I forgot, yet again, that reality does in fact overcome fiction, in this weird era.

Observably.

But the woman had no other

But the woman had no other recourse.

I think most DP-ers would agree that the cop was just doing his job. If she had shot or tased the cop, then that would've been unnecessary violence and no good would've come from that.

After all the cop is trying his best to pay his bills, no matter how reprehensible his job is :P

Man! When I was young

and chasing girls, I never thought about tasers!! Oh well, now I'm too old to chase them. NOT FAIR.

But seriously, these guys are totally out of control.

Cops are really bad around Benton/Bryant.

somehow, the mental image of a cop chasing a woman a telling her to show him her ta-ta's ....

I would say that it seems ludicrous to me....
and to think that it happened just down the road from me.
