Video: Boston Police Accuse me of Witness Intimidation; Threaten to Charge PINAC Readers With Same (Updated)

(Not Me!)
In a sheer act of intimidation, the Boston Police Department is planning on filing a complaint against me for witness intimidation because I posted the name, email and phone number to a police spokeswoman, encouraging readers to ask her to drop the accusation against Taylor Hardy, whom she claims recorded her without consent.

Detective Nick Moore also assured me he would do the same to any PINAC readers if they continue to contact departmental spokeswoman Angelene Richardson as they have been doing since yesterday.

“I can go and get warrants for every person who called her,” he said during a telephone conversation earlier this evening. “It’s an annoyance. It’s an act of intimidation.”

I pointed out that the real intimidation is being conducted by Boston police, which is not only evident in the above video that prompted this whole debacle, but is evident in their response to PINAC for posting the video in the first place.

Just stop. THis is assault. Plain and simple:

The officer says, "You touch me again and I'll lock you up for assault and battery."

The Officer is seen pushing the guys' camera away while walking into him.

Officers can push you, but the second you even TOUCH them, you can be arrested.

Why isn't the officer being locked up for assault and battery?

File charges. They can argue all day long that "the cameraman's presence created the hostile scene," however, he was standing at a good distance away and did NOT initiate contact with the police.

Utter bullshit.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

Sounds like you are drunk

Sounds like you are drunk with all the belching...

I was drunk on my footage also.......

But you'll love it???!

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

Can I ask you an honest question, tdd4ron?

If the officer can arrest the cameraman for simply touching the officer, why aren't you condoning filing charges against the same officer for pushing the guy's private property away (camera) and walking/pushing that same guy?

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

A drunken belching citizen

A drunken belching citizen (not that I agree that this citizen was drunk) well within his rights is far less offensive than a sober cop measuring how far he can abuse his position.

Wonder how the jogger running through the supposed unsafe crime scene might have been treated, had he also been equipped with a camera, and had he stopped to exercise not his cardiovascular system, but his right to film in public.

Citizens are abused by authorities to the extent that they exercise their rights, and nothing else. Write that down.

LOL, I would have to agree

LOL, I would have to agree

Speaking to a department

Speaking to a department spokesperson is a 1st Amendment free speech issue.

What you described also seems to me to be a clear case of police intimidation. Police might have the power to arrest people, but they cannot simply go around threatening to arrest everyone whose view they happen to disagree with.

You might want to consult with an attorney or contact the ACLU.

Ummmm...What the Heck is PINAC?

...and why are you being threatened if YOU are NOT the CAMERAMAN?

I don't know whether it's a lack of knowledge re: grammar and punctuation, or that you may possibly be all fired up emotionally when you composed this article.

The cops? They suck, the video catches them "almost" impersonating an "undercover" officer...yeah, both flatfoots almost used that term "undercover" and it's obvious they perpetrated a CYA.

BTW: CYA= Cover Your Ass

"Beyond the blackened skyline, beyond the smoky rain, dreams never turned to ashes up until.........
...Everything CHANGED !!

I have threatened my fair share of "police" officers

You really want to threaten them? Go after them PERSONALLY. To hell with their department, people who sue the department are just looking for a payday.

I had one officer threaten to tow my vehicle, I told him I would sue. He said go ahead I hear it all the time. I said no, I don't give a shit about your department, I will sue you personally for damages, expenses and legal recourse as this is a clear violation of your oath. You know damn well you lose your capacity for Qualified Immunity when what you are doing is clearly illegal. So I'm going to tell you again. Whatever it cost me to get my vehicle back, I will charge you in civil court times 50.

He took a much different stance and only issued me a citation which I promptly refused for cause and mailed a copy to my case file in my local district court with the original sent off to traffic court. Never heard anything about it again.

I am done playing their idiotic "I'm god and all powerful because I wear a costume and a tin badge" schtick. If everyone went after these officers in a personal matter. You'd see a much different approach.

Stop going after the departments, it's the city that pays the fine anyway. Go after them and ruin their existence for their dumbass mistakes.

THIS! Sue the COP, not the department!

When you win you can sue the department as well.

so what is up with all the

so what is up with all the belching ? Didn't your mama learn you how to say excuse me? I hope this isn't evidence for the jury...sheesh...

Samuel Adams

Good for you!

Everyone should call in mass, and barrage them with complaints now.

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

Good for you. I have fought the police, corporations, even...

the US Navy and won. Big targets also have big profiles and big reputations to protect. You can file a civil case in Magistrate Court for "Outrageous Conduct" and you can notify the ACLU and Rutherford Institute, as well as filing criminal charges against the officer for "witness intimidation". Better to stop this police intimidation nonsense now before it gets any worse.

All cops on patrol should have cameras in their badges

Think about it. If all patrol cars have dashcams why not take it to the next step. It could be time stamped and encrypted to prevent it from being manually disabled for than 5 min bathroom break intervals by an officer. Do a six-month trial run with cops that have complaints against them and watch their behavior magically change.

It would aid the good officers in evidence gathering and cut down on paperwork. All footage can be uploaded at the end of the day and be used later in training cadets in real world scenarios.

Bonus: No more "mysterious" deaths in police custody.

I love your idea. One change

the BadgeCam wouldn't have to aim at their penises. I'd rather not offer a bathroom break switch-off option. Keep it rolling 24/7 (or at least every second they're on-duty.

They don't seem to regard the value of privacy anyway.

Citizens are innocent until judged guilty by a jury.

Officials must be able to prove themselves innocent if they would use authority.

That's over the top.....

You're picking a fight with the police. If you want to record them, get a better camera with a good zoom lens. You're more likely to catch them doing something if they don't think they're being recorded.

Report the news, don't create the news....that's lame.

Besides, even if you're in the right, the time and money it takes to hassle the police is going to cost YOU time and money and it's nothing off their back to make that happen. No one is going to back you for that flick. I wouldn't quit your day if I were you. This stuff isn't going to be your payday.

it's not me, i just posted it

keep calm and slave on

Fair enough...but the whole thing is stupid...

The idiot filming the cops was a dick. While I can not stand police abuse, trying to instigate it is foolish.

You slave on too.

like i said, it wasn't me

i would never be so bold as to film a god on a public street. gods don't like to be filmed, they like to be worshiped as you know oh so well.
if i put on a shiny badge and a black costume would you kiss my tea bag? i'm talking a very very shiny badge and a car with sparkly lights on top. there is a cage in the back where i can put you in handcuffs if you're into that kind of thing. if not i'll just let you play with my night stick. afterwards i'll take you for coffee and donuts. and when i say donuts....

If it means anything, I've been hassled by arrogant cops but I've lived long enough not to judge a whole group by the actions of a few.

I also was given a break by a policeman, a big break that kept me out of jail, not even an arrest that would have made it hard for me to get a job. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time around the wrong people.

I have no problem with people filming the police but if they ask you to step back a distance to do it, don't act like a dick and argue that you have some god-given right to do it as you please.

Libertarian translation of

Libertarian translation of your authoritarian comments:

"I have no problem with people asserting their rights, but if police say assert your rights somewhere else, do it, don't act like a dick and argue you have some god-given right that police don't approve of."

Emphasis yours. You piece of bootlicking trash.

You're going to end-up like the LAX nut job....

You have no common sense. Just an attitude that if you cooperate with the police that that makes you some kind of traitor.

I've NEVER said that filming cops was wrong.

You seem to think using in-your-face gay pride and PETA tactics is the way to go about it. I disagree.

There are more venerable

There are more venerable figures in history whose wisdom I would consider before the DP commentary of "Kiss My Tea Bag."

This presentation covers some of said wisdom, and the video's title leaves nothing to interpretation:

Also, just so we're clear: Go phuck yourself.

Bet if I said that while flashing a badge and handing you a rusty metal d*ldo you'd comply.

"Fair enough, but instigating

"Fair enough, but instigating imperial British troops is foolish."

Honestly curious: Where do you draw your line when it comes to the idea of respecting authority vs. asserting your rights?

I don't draw a line....

I use common sense and fairness.

The jerk with the camera was trying to instigate a reaction. The cops said he could film at a safe distance, then he wants to argue about it.

I don't draw a

I don't draw a line...

Indeed, that much is clear.

Without endorsing the entirety of his existence, I cite Sam Adams, whose words here I approve, and seem to chastise you directly (emphasis mine):

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

That is all.

Snap back to reality....

You've gone off into the wild blue yonder stretching my words into something that is totally unrelated to anything that I've said. You're immature.

Your assignment is to go down to your local police station with a video camera and film as many cops as you can. We want at least an hours worth. Bring it back here and post it.

If any of the cops say anything about you filming them, yell in their face that you have the right and refuse to stop filming. If they try to stop you, then fight them.

If you refuse the assignment, then you are a self-admitted boot-licking sheep that deserves to live in servitude. It is your right after all and you need no other cause or reason to do it. Prove to us all that you stand behind your words because talk is cheap.

Chop. Chop. Off you go brave warrior.

This should be good. Looking forward to seeing your video. I will do everything in my power to make it go viral.
