Tired of seeing bikinis on DP

I'm talking about the "Sponsored from around the web" ads that are beneath every post.

Is there anyway to remove this? The other ads are non-offensive and even interesting generally.
If not, is there a way that the DP could minimize the display? Perhaps move it to a lower corner so I don't have to scroll past it every time? Seriously. Tired of telling the innocents that I'm NOT looking, LOL.

The bikini ad is the only one I LIKE.

Do you like the one with the sleeping guys face in a binding better?

Ad revenue keeps the DP

Ad revenue keeps the DP funded, so moving the ads in a spot where they would not be noticed would probably cause them to generate less revenue and possibly result in a funding issue for the site.

There is an option you might be interested in, though. Consider becoming a subscriber. You would both be helping to financially support the DP community and you would get the option to view the DP without advertising. Check it out at http://www.dailypaul.com/dp-subscribe

Or encourage ads for real goods and services

Rather than penny stocks, weight loss, celebrity gossip and cruises.

Big thumbs up to the Amazon book ads in the lower corner. That area showcases books that are of immediate interest to most of DP because they are chosen by the posters. The other ads that are specific to the DP are also low on the page. Why?

What is the real deal behind the "Sponsored from Around the Web" ads? What is being sold to whom?

I guess

those adds are why I have so much silver.Provident adds every where I go.APMEX adds every where I go.Its a conspiracy!

I love liberty like fresh cool air in my lungs.I love freedom like fresh cool water on my tongue.I love peace like the smooth skin of my sweet lady. And Dr.Ron Paul is the hero I believe will change the world.

That's not offensive. Ben Swann has offensive!

see woman on his donation page on bottom right

that's really offensive!

Do you think that will bring him more money or less?

FYI: Pretty sure Ben hasn't seen it or know it's there. Probably has no control other than to report it. But, tell him about it on camera and we may get a sheepish smile and pink face on video. ;)

You're funny.

I'm guessing you posted that to get clicks for Ben Swann?

You are obviously in tune with most of the readers who commented on this post.

It can be a little like a Walt Disney nightmare now that you mention it.

Mozilla Firefox

and install the GHOSTERY add on. I don't see any ads on this site at all.

To be honest, I use ghostery too

Not because of this site but the rest of the web. Why shouldn't we want to protect ourselves from being tracked?

Your other options are subscribe to the Daily Paul (this is the most logically way to support the site and avoid ads).

The one I enjoy are the calls for donations (I'd like them to be more frequent to be honest. I especially like the exclusives that were once offered.

I own a print by Michael that I really enjoy and would be interested in getting my hands on more if it would help fund the site. Michael is of course a busy guy. I too have little time to devout to my art as of late.

Doesn't seem very fair to me.

I block most of the color and

I block most of the color and picture ads with adblock plus, but the in-text advertisements still appear (buzz words on the page will have a pop-up like ad). They are much less intrusive but still create revenue.

In other, OTHER words

I am not being commercially tracked by anyone either. Not to mention I won't be harassed with ads for falsely promoted candidates any longer as well. I could go on, but I am sure you won't budge from your position and neither shall I.

No need to click on the ads

for them to generate revenue?

If I fast forward the television commercials am I freeloading when I watch?

Crazy me. I thought free was free. But now I know it is actually stealing.

If the DP wants to operate like a business selling goods, then it should respond to it's "freeloaders" that are called "Customers" by normal businesses. I've never been thrown out of a shop because I was simply looking instead of buying. Instead, the proprietors asked what I was looking for. They WANTED me to buy so they developed their advertising or goods to meet my needs. I once remarked on a magazine stand near the front doors of a business. The next time I shopped at that business the stand had been moved to a corner. The only way a business can respond to it's potential customers is if the customers provide feedback. I did and got slapped for it on the DP.

I'm tired of seeing the hillbilly bearded, t-shirt ads.

But oh well.

Ad Blocker

I installed Ad Blocker, now I never see any ads (it also stops those annoying YouTube ads).

If too many people follow

If too many people follow your lead the DP will eventually have a funding problem. How will you feel about what you are doing and advocating for if that happens?

Maybe you would consider subscribing: http://www.dailypaul.com/dp-subscribe

Screw you.

You are a petty thief.

Thank you.

For your intelligent and thoughtful input.

But I block invasive advertisers like Google for privacy reasons, it has nothing to do with preventing revenue from this site.

It does however have a lot to do with not supplying revenue to corporations that are in bed with the CIA, NSA and other agencies in order to spy on us all.

Am I a thief if I allow them access but never click on the ads?

The ads on this site that I do see are from the ones I presume are none CIA affiliated advertisers visible on the right hand side, which I have clicked-through on many occasions.

If you're not willing to pay

If you're not willing to pay the price of entry (merely a few ads) then don't consume the resources. If you don't like a phone company because they share your data, you're more than free to not do business with them. That doesn't give you the right to hack their network and use their services without paying, and you don't have the right to be on the Daily Paul consuming bandwidth without the ads.

They also block Ad revenues DP depends on.

I turned off adbock here when I couldn't afford to pony up.
