Invasion of FreeRepublic.com Required
Submitted by THX1138 on Sun, 01/27/2008 - 20:38
Made up largely of NeoCon hordes, FreeRepublic.com needs to be invaded with multiple Ron Paul supporters.
Invading a foreign country is easy enough, how hard can it be to invade a forum site bent on disgracing the good doctor.
Show your support today and defend Ron's honor.
INVADE FREEREPUBLIC.COM TODAY

RP Supporters have been banned from FR for a long time
I read about a die-hard Republican who was suddenly just banned for saying something positive about him. She was furious.
IF you join, which I don't even know if they are accepting any new people, then just be critical about all the other candidates and leave RP out of it.

Heck NO I will not visit them.
Sites like that rake in cash from ad revenue. If you send a ton of traffic their way they would LOVE that. They'll get paid no matter what you say or do. Invading their site is only going to give them profit.
It's the same thing as invading CBS if everyone turned on their televisions and tried to overload the station with viewers. Are you people that ignorant of how sites like that make their money? They would love the extra cash. Maybe they could afford some new staff to write hit pieces on Ron Paul then... sheesh, come on now people.
Background info on FR
Ran into this blog post the other day
http://blogspirator.blogspot.com/2008/01/spontaneous-ron-pau...
with a LOT of background on FR.
Apparently the proprietor claims to hate Paul... but has Paul stuff all over his old web pages!
Also it looks like a lot of Freepers are turning to Paul on their own.
If you show up and support Paul - you'll probably be banned.
Much better to show up, post dirt on all the other candidates than Paul, and not mention him, except to say something like "even Ron Paul looks good compared to these cretins!"
looks like they're unhappywith the candidates

re: Romney, McCain call each other 'liberal'
"Liberals calling each other liberals. It makes you wonder how they sleep at night."
"Pot, meet kettle."
"Wow! One moment of inntelectual honesty - at least they’re not calling each other “conservative”!"

I wouldn't advise sending
I wouldn't advise sending them more traffic and wasting your time. But if you insist on going there you ought to make up code words for RP and the Revolution so that you can identify yourselves to other believers but not get banned. But they'd probably ban you for talking about the Constitution anyway.
Although I sympathize with
Although I sympathize with your request, you have just violated rule #44 of the internet:
"The internet is not your personal army."
But I wish you luck all the same. I have a great deal of animosity against that web site. To me, it crystalizes my frustration with the Republican party's completely abandonment of small government values. I think it means something as well - libertarians don't really have a home with the Republican party any more. What is to become of the Goldwater-Reagan coalition? I don't know... interesting times ahead.
But that FR guys, they really don't get the traffic they did in the past. In fact, its about the same it was during the summer of 2001... when the greatest issues of the day involved shark attack stories in Florida. Its also important to note that we've had some recent days where this very site has gotten more traffic than freerepublic. So, you know what, screw 'em! Their loss!

The Daily Kos of the right
That's all they are. No better. Less foul language that's all.

as a (former) member of both those sites...
"Free" (sic) Republic has a history of being a great site prior to GWB being named the GOP nominee in 2000, after which it turned into what it is now. LibertyPost was a great site where just about anything went, including me after I was ridiculously banned from FR, at least up through early last year. I haven't been there much since then so I don't know what it's like now. There was never any unanimity there; there were imbalances (few lefties, lots of libertarians, a good dose of neocons, etc.) but no one faction pushed others out by force.
I do have lots more stories to tell about both sites but they probably aren't important here. :-)

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.
No need to ask, I think it's already happening
There's a problem though, MY account has been banned for making a comment that I liked Paul and Fred on freerepublic.
Something that concerns me is that some people are saying they'd support ROMNEY of all people.
Never profess what you like
Never profess what you like or approve of. Only claim what you don't like or disapprove of.
"But, indeed, no private person has a right to complain, by suit in court, on the ground of a breach of the Constitution. The Constitution it is true, is a compact, but he is not a party to it."

this happened to me too
My comment was very simple and polite. All I said was that Paul was the best conservative running based on his positions and voting record concerning taxes, spending, states rights, etc. that got me banned. I can't really say freerepublic is all that free.
Learn from what Our Government Does before War
Send in the CIA operatives, blend in, be a Rino for a week or two, posting meaningless RINO garbage, and put in a comment or two supporting Ron Paul in various articles after a week or two.

Don't waste your time they
Don't waste your time they moderate all new sign ups just for that reason, the minute you show support for Ron Paul they will ban you. Leave them to there little bubble of non-reality and do something to get Ron Paul elected.

Hmmm
Nothing free about that. Sounds like "fascist republic" should be the name.
