Tears in my eyes

The past is dead, and the future is unborn. All we have is the present moment.

God, I love you Dex. Thank you for the end to a perfect day.

you, sir

are a very positive fellow, and I could use more of your sort of energy in my life. Thank you.

Unlearning and self-teaching since 2008. Thanks, Dr. Paul!

I would love nothing more

Than to drop everything I am doing, to live in the "now" ... And do things I want to do, live the way I want to live etc. But to be honest these sort of video's really annoy me these days... They are selling "hope" and this sort of utopian experience we all long to have... But are never very forthcoming with practical advice on how to live in this manner. The people in my life that have quit the job they hated, divorced the person so toxic in there life... In pursuit of this sort of utopia.... get out of the system mentality....Etc. They are under even more stress than they were before! Now they just try to keep from living under a bridge, make sure they can get just one good meal a day... And are living with the guilt of how their "living in the now" has affected their children. Doesn't sound much better, or less stress living on the other side... Actually it sounds pretty bad. I wish.... But not in this world... Unless you are independently wealthy.

"America touts itself as the land of the free, but the number one freedom that you and I have is the freedom to enter into a subservient role in the workplace. Once you exercise this freedom you’ve lost all control over what you do, what is produced, and how it is produced. And in the end, the product doesn’t belong to you. The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don’t care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve."

-Tom Morello

I get it

And point well taken but it is a paradox and you have to find the balance. There are all kinds of extremes to the left and to the right . It is to be aware and find our place that's important. I certainly reflected upon my life after watching this and I concur that in our society with its barriers and constraints a true "in the now" approach is not attainable. What is possible is to take those moments and pause taking in and appreciating what is today.

This guy is not so brilliant

I just heard sam harris on the joe rogan podcast, joe tried to get an opinion out of him about false flags because he seemed to be defending our heavy handed tactics with respect to terrorism . He kept deflecting and trying to change the topic.

my take was this guy had his head up you know where.... Rogan did his best to get a straight answer from him but he was too evasive ,I would say no friend of liberty is he.

So are you saying that

this video is void then?

Not sure I get your point, kinda like we can't laugh at Nordberg from Police Squad because OJ killed his wife....

no, not at all

just letting my peeps on the DP a know little more about the maker of the clip , it was a good clip thanks for posting it I did enjoy it. Harris is a new name for me on liberty websites and podcast world I just think he needs to be educated some more on issues we care about on the DP.

Goldmember777

I got ya

I think a lot of people will have a problem with this guy when they dig deeper on his beliefs or shall I say non belief.

Thanks

Going back to

Goldmembers comment about this guys evasiveness and show of support for the regime, I don't know anything about him beyond this video but I think that there are two aspects to consider. The first is that everyone wakes up in different areas at different times, and one person who knows heaps about one field may not know much about another. So he may not have been exposed to the degree of corruption that exists.

The second which I think is more important in regards to his apparent evasiveness, is that we all have a choice in how we view things even when they appear to be bad. He may be choosing not to throw support behind opinions which are negatively oriented. I don't believe that this is the same thing as willful ignorance. One can be aware of disharmony and be working toward improving it without fighting it.

I think that the subject of this video is the most profound thing that exists. We do only ever have now, and if we never stop to appreciate it, we will always live in a world without that feeling of appreciation. I've been studying this for many years and still struggle with it, but I definitely believe it is the key to true liberation.

Freedom is a byproduct of acceptance - judge not.

Nice video!

Lucky to have found this community of inspiring minds and great energy here at the Daily Paul.

Nice to take a moment to remember :)

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

A Present Moment To Remember

Don't Fear The Reaping

Settle in to enjoy those
crisp mornings of The Fall
when sun melts Frost–e condensation early
because it's going to be a good, high, blue sky day
... and you smell wax leaving, grass turning
amethyst autumnal color bejeweled
pine needles and breakfast campfires olor amydst.

I can live a camp life N O W ... if I let it shine...
Precarious, Yes ... but when has it not been?
This edgy life must be in my nature...
Repose always 'round the next edge
... and when I clear the bend --
another encounter with unforeseen graceful serendipity as often as
inevitable obstacle.
Somehow I must transact the happy commerce of the route
amongst the best opportunities for contented joy –
Hunt and gather good people
Berry pick’n if not propagating fruitful husbandry.
I suppose it’s time to reap seasoned judgment;
But with a cultivated attitude of lightened bearing
a generous harvest moon may shine
over trampled vintage
heavy, but N O W more mystified than crushed.
