Ok, per DPers advice, I talked on behalf of Adam Kokesh to Marc Victor's secretary today, an attorney in Arizona. I am gonna

schedule an hour long telephone conference with him for 100 bucks, a cheap price to pay for freedom.

I am hoping he will give us a little bit of his time on the house looking into the case to see how much he thinks the total will cost to actually free Adam Kokesh, and hope Marc Viktor will tell me Adam Kokesh actually has a chance of being free.

I want to take a minute and thank the ones who pointed me to Marc Viktor. If it bears fruit, and I want to take a minute to thank Adam Kokesh who probably feels pretty alone right now.

I stand with him and his fallen brothers he saw die in combat, and I stand with you all. I need some help from you all in telling me some of the most important questions I can ask this lawyer.

My most important question is going to be how much does it cost to get him free, that is the most important question I will ask this lawyer. Now the most important question I will ask you all is, who is willing to contribute to Adam Kokesh's defense fund, I will ask the lawyer if he can set us up a safe account so the money will be distributed in an honorable manner.

I don't know how deep I am getting myself into the player's game, but I will take my chances. I am going to need help with this everyone, so we are going to need fake fiat dollars to get this done as well as guidance along the way.

I will keep you all posted on the situation, please let me know on here, who Adam can depend on to donate, I think this could easily cost 30 to 100 grand, and I don't have that much money. All I have is you all and if we all can come together, let's see how much we truly want liberty.

Liberty will cost you time or money and I am asking for both from you all on here. I am in, are you?

If Adam is sentenced beyond a slap on the wrist proportional

to the non-violent crime he committed, he will have suceeded in showing the government to be tyrannical and vindictive, and he will become a martyr with a platform for life.

If the government lets him go, he will have poked it in the eye and scored a victory for liberty.

I think Adam is playing 3-D chess. Who knows what he has up his sleeve. He is articulate and smart and we have not heard the last of him in his public life. I say all power to him. He da Man.

Adam Kokesh pleads "Guilty" to Weapon & Pot Possession; Local ABC News Station Confirms

Published on Nov 6, 2013

ABC 7 WJLA is reporting that Adam Kokesh had pleaded guilty to carrying a shotgun, possession of an unregistered firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and marijuana possession at an unscheduled hearing this morning.

He was arrested at his home on July 9th, during an evening SWAT raid after posting a video online of himself loading and pumping a shotgun in Freedom Plaza in Washington DC.

The Washington Post reports that Kokesh was ordered to be released from the DC Jail pending his January 17th 2014 sentencing.

Judge Patricia A. Broderick ordered that during his release he must not possess any firearms and must stay out of Washington DC and report to authorities weekly.

We have no further details at this time.

Adam Kokesh pleads guilty to weapon, drug charges

Kokesh, who has been in custody, is set to be released Wednesday.

November 6, 2013 - 11:53 am

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - A Libertarian activist facing drug and weapons charges after he posted a video of himself loading a shotgun on Freedom Plaza has pleaded guilty in D.C. Wednesday.

Adam Kokesh pleaded guilty to marijuana possession and weapons charges. He's scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 17.

The gun charges stem from Kokesh's video post. His marijuana charge are connected to a July 8 incident where he was spotted with a marijuana cigarette, authorities say.

** Though, I'd have to hear him describe his own situation in his own words to see what exactly happened; I see no reason why he'd plead guilty, when he had no problems standing up principally, so well, so far.

Be that as it may, hope the homeboi gets some well deserved rest, as he ramps up his legal fight.

Adam's official AVTM FaceBook page confirms, with a screencap from the official prison release info posted on govt's website: among other cited governmentese semantics alchemy, it also 'orders' him to NOT "possess weapon of any kind"!!!

** WTF is "any kind"?? A kitchen knife, can be a 'weapon.' So can a pen, or sheared soda can. More moronic terrorist state nonsense.

what else could it be? He probably was offered a deal to get him out before too long, if not right away given the time he's been incarcerated.

Re: Adam Kokesh's D.C. Lawyer

Thursday, October 24, 2013
BREAKING: Adam Kokesh's D.C. Lawyer Has Withdrawn From the Case
The following extremely vague post was made at the Adam Kokesh Facebook site:

Due to circumstances beyond the control of either Adam Kokesh or Peter Cooper, Adam's attorney handling his Washington, D.C. cases, Mr. Cooper had to withdraw from representation at an emergency court hearing this morning. These circumstances were not in any way related to, caused by, or initiated by the conduct of either Adam or Mr. Cooper. For obvious legal reasons, the nature of the circumstances cannot be disclosed. Mr. Cooper is doing everything he can to make the transition to a new attorney appointed by the court as smooth as possible.

The court has continued the trial date on the firearms related charges from October 31, 2013 to November 18, 2013.

An admirable sentiment, I

An admirable sentiment, I suppose. Kokesh has made some very rash, self-destructive decisions, in my opinion. He appeared to want to bring about a legal response to what he likely considers an unyielding position and he got a response. Probably not the one he was hoping for, but he got it anyway. I have serious doubts about any legal wrangling intended to get him released. I think he'll be there for a while.

A while meaning what?

I'm not a huge fan of his tactics, but to throw away the keys is completely wrong in this case. In his mind and many others, this stance of civil disobedience was in order.

He hurt nobody. The point is at question here- the crime was minimal.

Not according to the local

Not according to the local law he apparently violated.

I hear he is gonna run for Congress as a Republican in 2014 in CD 9 I think it is. I find it interesting that he is going to help Kokesh if he is going to run for Congress in the GOP... his opponents will have a lot to attack him on.

I have to be honest.

A legal aid attorney for this particular case might be the best route for AK. They are local and they know the kabuki dance custom in that jurisdiction, they know the local code, and they are probably a little excited about a somewhat legally interesting case.

At least AK will come out sober and detoxed when he does get out. I will be praying for him.

God Bless.

YOU Need to get "sober and detoxed"

What kind of b.s. was that? Implying that Kokesh has some type of drug abuse problem. He got busted for weed.

my friend how can you be on this site for nearly six years and not know that cannabis is less toxic than chocolate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theobromine_poisoning?

well now you know. spread the word.

ps- i tell you straight up. weed is good. look it up. it's science b

And that is not all AK was ingesting.

Take a chill John. I meant nothing bad by it.

Have to agree Mr. Carbadge

I agree Rob,

First of all, has anybody heard from Adam on this issue of Marc Victor? I mean, it is kinda Adam's choice.

Next, the point about Marc being an Arizona trial lawyer not a district lawyer isn't waved away by "oh we can get him a local partner". The reality is at this point Adam will get the representation he can afford.

Next, I'm not gonna write off the public defender because I kinda doubt Adam is gonna get a first-year. This is one thing I got a good feeling about. This is a banner case, a potential careermaker and the legal profession is gonna be watching. If they don't get him real representation they are gonna have to work pretty hard to pretend they have. Cause we're gonna be watching.

Finally, most harsh, we're tapped. I'm looking at more possible jail time too and I'll be pro-per or have a public defender. I don't even know how to ask for more from this movement. Adam lost a LOT in losing his money so far because there's so many that just won't pitch in again. We don't throw money away as a rule.

Little mix of optimism and reality check.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

LOL! Everyone has the answer! :-) Which is to.....

....hire ALL these attorneys as a team. Maybe get back Peter, too.

Build a legal fortress!

I would suggest getting George Donnelly back on board first.

See how much money he is owed. Get his opinion on whom to contact first - the attorneys or Adam (if Adam wants to get out).

Money collected should probably only go out piece-meal to George, the attorneys, and maybe to Adam for some jail comforts. Whatever is not used should go back to the donors, to custody of his father, or some other liberty cause or legal defense.

Get George on board and I think I may be able to get Mark to give a free consult, if there is anything he knows to help? We can go thru the attorney list and compare their willingness and abilities.

I don't know how much can actually be done without Adam's approval or signature. But if DPers are gonna donate to his defense they should have the right to say to whom the money goes and how it is spent--which would probably preclude Adam's friends, acquaintances, and business people. (I hope that sounded 'nice' and 'politically correct.')

Donors should have people in law, finance, and accounting watching over the income, expenses, and procedures to make sure no money is lost or wasted and the defense is kept on track.

Some ideas to think about anyway.

How do we get George Donelly

back on board I have no idea how to contact him, but it would be nice to know why he dropped the case.

Before you go knockin' and down-voting ideas...

....how informed are you?

Adam's people and his website were asking for money and yet his website info was never updated and NO ONE has bothered to answer any/multiple inquiries in months.

Whom would you trust?

Donnelly had TIMELY AND CORRECT INFO that he disbursed and no one else did.

Without him, things have seemed dead in the water. That route can surely be continued.

Last I heard there were hearing and court dates in Oct and Nov 2013.

Who has heard anything?

Contacting him can't hurt. Can it?

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

Tentative agreement in principle

I'll want to see communication with Adam and if he so directs, communication with his father and remaining trusted core team. Getting out of sync could cause another screwup and a lot of people are gonna be very reluctant to donate to anything that shows unstable management at this point.

This defense is gonna cost an astronomical sum. I therefore also feel that checking out the public defender he's asked for to be worth while. This will be very high profile, a potential career maker for his lawyer so it seems to me that there's potential there.

My two bits.

Re: Consult with Mark Victor

I am very disappointed to hear he wants to charge you. I would forego him for the following reasons:

1) If he's a freedom fighter and won't give you ANY time free FIRST, that is bad news!

2) He is licensed in AZ and most likely doesn't know anything about D.C. law, etc.

3) He is not certified in constitutional law, which may be what Adam was pursuing as a defense.

4) If you are not VERY familiar with Adam's charges, what he wants, and where everything stands, you are wasting your time and money.

5) Cost IS NOT a reason to consult an attorney. That is relative and variable.

From what you have stated here, you are NOT PREPARED for a consultation. Please hold off.

Does anyone know what Adam, his father, or girl-friend want?
Anyone have their contact info?
How do they feel about his public defender?

I'm not up on the case as I was a couple of months ago.

I think George Donnelly was doing the best job with up-to-date info and help (imo).

some good and some bad points

first, there is no "Certification" in Constitutional Law that exists that I'm aware of. Second, my understanding is that this was going to be a sort of "what do we do and how much will it cost?" conversation. It would seem there are a lot of unanswered questions, but that the persons asking likely don't even know what those questions are. At least a consult with an attorney could help clarify that.

edit: if George Donnelly is the Sheild Mutual dude, he sounds like he doesn't have his feet on the ground.

Certainly, knowing Mr. Kokesh'es intent, is important. At this stage, it could be any number of things.

1. Plea agreement to minimize jail time and get back to work
2. Trial to put them to the test
3. Trial, then appeal to test the laws or try to create new law
4. ???
