Dr Paul. bless his heart, but he was the last vote

I will cast.

I thank him for teaching me about what's really going on, but its time for the rest of us to take the non aggression principal seriously and "go all the way" with it.

We lost long ago in this country when the founding fathers created a federal government instead of a free society. They deserve respect for creating the most free country for their time. And to their credit, it took a 240 years for it to get this big and corrupted. But I think it is clear that even small government is nothing but a vacuum for sociopaths and eventually becomes this pile of garbage we have now.

No!

There are 5,240,438 registered voters in VA. 2,138,613 people voted in the race.

3 million did not vote. Is that the libertarians fault too?

Label Jars, Not People!

The one has nothing to do with the other

The apathy of those people does not absolve Sarvis voters of their foolish decision.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

You had Ron, Rand and Glen Beck

Scare-tatics to steal back voters who would have voted for Sarvis but it was not enough. "Leadership is about taking responsibility, not making excuses" (Romney)

who's the bigger fool? the fool who leads or the fool that follows a fool?

Label Jars, Not People!

Wow, attacking Ron Paul while quoting Romney?

.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

This has become

an anti-libertarian liberty thread, hasn't it?

Label Jars, Not People!

Yes it has

The Libertarians have turned on the libertarians.

I am seeing an avalanche of bullshi from the beltway libertarians and LP dumping on the Ron Paul movement. It is so sudden and unexpected, that I am beginning to think it's orchestrated. I'm thinking the establishment has just launched its great counter-offensive to roll back our gains of the last 5 years, and some of you people are unwittingly playing along.

We'll see what happens.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

That's collectivist talk

That's collectivist talk right there. Every individual should choose what is in their best interest. PERIOD.

Voting to get 10% vs voting

Voting to get 10% vs voting to win. And the guy couldn't even get 10%. You lose.

Oh please

voluntary cooperation isn't collectivism. The only thing this splintering does is allow the collectivists to win, because they can work together.

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty."

Huh? Then what's it's opposite?

Voluntary cooperation isn't collectivism but voluntarily doing your own thing is wrong? Splintering allows collectivists to win but submitting to the group does what for conservatives?

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

B.S. personified.

Voting for a lousy Libertarian candidate (yes, Sarvis was a lousy candidate in much the same way that Bob Barr was) was in nobody's interest, and could you please knock off the cultish "that's collectivist talk" rubbish. Libertarians, as a group, screwed over the entire state of Virginia by spitting on Ron Paul's request, and frankly I have zero regrets over leaving the Libertarian Party, they're a complete joke.

“My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday.” - G.K. Chesterton

did it ever cross your mind that

the Rep candidate didn't interest libertarians. I thought libertarians were supposed to vote on principal and not play along to get along.

Give me a break with that garbage about anyone screwing over anyone.

Perhaps if the GOP didn't screw them over in 2012, this would be diff story.

The libertarians really could care less about someone like you leaving. Go back to your GOP garbage

There was no other reason to

There was no other reason to vote LP in Virginia last night other than to get 10% or to defend...not even to allow...but to defend the right to kill babies. Both very stupid reasons to give the election over to Obama jr. Cuccineli was a Ron Paul guy.

yeah you are forgetting the fact that the Rep candidate

did not represent their principals there fore they did not vote for him.

Grow some principals, hypocrite.

LOL you folks still think we

LOL you folks still think we have an option at the black box polls? Common wake up these things are so rigged......... We have lost the ability to vote long ago

isn't there a recount provision in the VA law for such close

election results?

in most elections, in many cases 1% difference is grounds for recount (for what it's worth, even under the proven reality of Black Box eVoting, vote/election & counting fraud).

why isn't this happening in Virginia??

any VA r3VOL here familiar with some of the more obscure ins and outs of Virginia's election laws?

thanks.

+1

Ya know?

If I put all that effort into a Gov. race I'd be demanding a re-count, and would never concede.

From what I see on the MSM channels the actual vote numbers keep varying, even on the same network, up and DOWN!

I really don't trust the ballot box AT ALL anymore, anyway...

Sad indeed

There are 5,240,438 registered voters in VA. 2,138,613 people voted in the race. Alot of Republicans on this thread venting about one man: Robert Sarvis.

Wonder why 3 million voters didn't bother?

because it is rigged..... The

because it is rigged..... The counter decides the election..... Push any button you want the counter will count it for whom ever they see fit....

It wan't rigged. Have the

It wan't rigged. Have the guts to face reality. Cooch lost for a variety of reasons but there is no evidence of vote fraud.

Okay keep voting yourself

Okay keep voting yourself liberty and see how that works out for you... :) Not rigged do you hear yourself? The way the rules are wrote a third party will never have a chance. The Diebold machine fraud is well documented. No one can see the programs that run these machines. Sure keep voting!

No evidence? For the love of God wake up Obama is in the White House for a second term!

That third parties are kept

That third parties are kept out of the mix, sure, that's fixed by the two major parties and the media, but that there was widespread vote fraud in the VA governor's race is just your imagination. Where's the evidence?

Painful as it is it's best to face the reality that Obama and McAuliffe were more popular with voters than Romney and Cuccinelli.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

Can you prove that there was

Can you prove that there was not widespread voting fraud? I can show you bunches of cases where they messed up and did get caught. The way the system is set up it is pretty hard to catch them unless they are careless like in Florida when candidates received -300 totals. :)

The question in VA now is

The question in VA now is whether a GOPer with more libertarian social views could have carried this statewide race. Those libertarians I know who didn't vote Cooch (voted Sarvis or stayed home) did so over his social positions.

The question is whether less stern positions on gay rights and abortion would have added enough votes to make up the votes that might have been lost from theocrats abandoning him.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

That is so sad...

...to see so many libertarians throw away a real opportunity for trivial social issues. They're becoming the bizarro-world Christian fundamentalists. Single-issue rubes...

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Sheep.

Forget the GOP. They work with the DEMS. The real results 93% Sheep to 7% Awake.

LOL...sure sure

What did you like most about Sarvis? His rejection of Austrian economics? His inability to explain how he would cut spending? His proposal to raise taxes by a privacy-shredding per-mile tax? His support for expanding Medicaid? Aaahahahahahahaha!!! Yes yes, "awake," quite...You awakened ones basically just voted for Ralph Nader.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Apparently the LP works with

Apparently the LP works with the dems.

I almost agreed with you until...

You said "gay rights & abortion" were the social issues that 'libertarians' held out for.

You mean it wasn't the drug-war, or patriot act & things like that?!

You see, any consistent libertarian understands that ALL INDIVIDUALS must be equal under the law!

We do not support "WOMENS' Rights", or "MENS' Rights", or "GAY Rights" or "STRAIGHT Rights".... But EQUAL RIGHTS for ALL INDIVIDUALS!

Women do not have the right to kill a baby, even if it their own baby, just a like Man does not have that right.
WHAT ABOUT THE CHILD'S EQUAL RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW?!
A man cannot "Do whatever he wants with his penis", just as a woman cannot "Do whatever she wants with her uterus".
So if you say "leave my uterus alone", supporting abortion, then you must support a man saying "leave my penis alone", and therefore support repealing 'Child-Support' laws, to be ideologically consistent.

Truth is, there are natural consequences in life that cannot be legislated away by majority vote.

Since when does a loud, vocal minority get to demand the official, legislated re-definition of a word (marriage), which will have an inconceivable, unpredictable long term impact on society itself?

I'm guessing the whole ballot was just rigged (as a backup at least), and the Libertarian party wasn't really pushed by the conservative-libertarians in VA, but by the liberal machine, to draw from the conservative-libertarian base.
