Rand takes a swipe at the Fat Boy

He didn’t name any names, but it’s clear Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., still has a bone to pick with N.J. Gov. Chris Christie and his “mug” that was all over TV after superstorm Sandy.

During a Senate committee hearing on post-Sandy recovery efforts, Paul asked Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan whether it was appropriate to use federal relief funds for television ads, a clear jab at the New Jersey Republican who starred in ads touting the Jersey Shore.

Some of these ads, people running for office put their their mug all over these ads while they’re in the middle of a political campaign,” Paul said at Senate Homeland Security hearing on recovery from superstorm Sandy. “In New Jersey, $25 million was spent on ads that included somebody running for political office. Do ya think there might be a conflict of interest there?”

Celente on another 'Fat Boy'...

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

In response to those

who feel commenting on his weight is immature, etc. I would like to say that his weight is a valid issue because most people who are grossly overweight, as he is, have emotional and psychological issues and they use their weight to hide behind and protect themselves from other people who might say something to hurt their "feelings". His loud brash behavior supports this theory/belief because that type of presentation scares people away and shuts up critics. He has a very weak sense of self respect and I feel he would be very dangerous in the presidency.

Haha. #RandIsBoss I don't

Haha.

#RandIsBoss

I don't have twitter but everyone else is doing it.

I don't understand

the obsession with Christie?
What has he done to prove his credentials as a conservative?
Nothing that I have seen.

The average voter saw him take on the teacher unions.

That's all they know. Their knowledge doesn't go much deeper; maybe it will by election time.
It had me fooled for a bit. Turns out it was just to sucker us in.

Undo what Wilson did

That is because you are grading him on your scale

The establishment loves him because he has an R behind his name and won in a blue state, similar to Romney being a governor in Massachusetts but having an R behind his name. Neither were conservative at all and did zero to prove it. Somehow this makes them exciting and good candidates to mainstream republicans. In some ways they are farther left than red state democrat senators/reps.

Fat boy? Which one?

LOL!

The Diamond Dog is a real cool cat. | Reporting on the world from an altitude of 420.

Sucker punched by the DNC, I don't think so. RNC on same page.

The Establishment power base has been successful in their campaign to continue to liberalize the Republican Party. The RNC cooperated.

Cuccinelli was defeated because the RNC Establishment power base didn't want a Tea Party governor. They would rather give up a governorship to a Democrat than to risk their power base being challenged by the election of a truly conservative governor. This would make the likelihood of other conservatives being successful in future governor races possible. It would enable the grass roots to expand their influence in the party.

Christie won in New Jersey because the Establishment power brokers would rather have a very liberal Republican than a Democrat in office there. This strengthens the implication that conservatives aren't viable candidates, thus preserving the Establishment power brokers dominance over the RNC.

The Establishment power brokers continue to peddle the progressive agenda and are now attempting to entrench their status by subverting the Republican Party just as they already have done with the Democrat Party.

Puma, I voted this down due to the title.

While I do respect your 1st Amendment right, it is also mine to offer my opinion.

There are plenty of reason to dislike that pathetic gun-banning RINO. Personal attributes are not one of them.

Isn't there enough DRAMA permeating corruptstream media? Didn't that moron bloomberg do enough?

[re]Educating Americans should entail tolerance and discussion of the facts, not attempting to alienate them.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

"Do ya think there might be a conflict of interest there?”

Yes, definitely a conflict of interest. But, if timing is everything Senator Paul's sense of timing was rather poor. Coming right on the heels of the plagiarism episode when Rand Paul would do better to fly under the radar, this may do him more damage than good. So, instead of rising above the fray and standing out as a magnanimous contender to Chris Christie, this thinly veiled political attack on him in a Senate committee hearing merely lumps him in together with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz who also chimed in trying to diminish Christie's win in New Jersey.

Offensive title. The correct term is

Be sensitive!

According to the Federation of American Titans And Serious Slobs (FATASS), they prefer "calorically challenged."

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

What?

Wouldn't it be "calorically gifted"?

The correct term is...

"Challenged" is offensive to...er...meaty folks, but "gifted" is showing off and is offensive to others. The correct term is "Calorically special."

"The Fat Boy"? Can we stop making fun of Christie's weight?

It's totally immature, inappropriate, and irrevelant. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike him.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

I'm fat

So it's ok

Bloated, Overfed,Pompous, Selfish, Socialistic, Citizen Betrayer

Am I talking about Chris Christie or the US Government?

Yes

See subject.

Can We Stop Making Fun Of Chris Christie's Weight?

I agree. This is real adolescent behavior and rather than elevate the discussion only degrades it.

Ed Rombach

it's not irrelevant

When will our government have the "big one"

When will our government have the "big one"

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

For my part, no, I can't, nor would I if I could

.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Why should his weight matter?

It has nothing to do with his politics. If Ron Paul was overweight would you make fun of him for it too?

And attacking him for such shallow reasons certainly does not help our cause.

It amuses me

.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

People like you who attack people for such a shallow thing

such as their weight or appearance are why so many people today have eating disorders. Grow up.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

I'm causing eating disorders?! Really?!

Well then, I shall have to redouble my efforts! People who stuff their faces or starve themselves in reaction to what strangers say ought to be encouraged to remove themselves from the gene pool.

...O dear, that's ever so rude...

P.S. I wonder if our hunter-gatherer ancestors had these problems? After a long day of hunting mammoth, did Ug go starve himself because Glug called him fat? Hmm....or maybe this "illness" is a sign of decadent and deranged modern culture? Something not to be tolerated but mocked, because it's so absurd?

P.S.S. Beyond amusing myself by mocking the fatty, I do actually have a point, which is this: these people who are SO sensitive to what other people say about them (be it appearance or some other aspect) are chum in the water. They'll be eaten alive in life. You do them a disservice by coddling them. I say call it like it is, he's a fatass, call him a fatass. Maybe that'll give him some motivation to lose weight.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Not Effective

"Something not to be tolerated but mocked, because it's so absurd?"

Of course we shouldn't encourage people to be self destructive or lie about it to make them feel better, but some things can't be fixed by mockery. Some things are only made worse. Mockery is reserved for people or things that are so far gone that they don't deserve help and need to be made an example. Like communist dictators for instance. Once you've killed a few human beings you're fair game, but being lazy or over-sensitive or confused is hardly comparable. Mocking people pushes them away and shuts them down. Some people are too far gone already, but not over-weight people, come on. So if you want people to not be lazy gluttons anymore, instead of laughing, try to teach them - you catch more flies with honey.

Now Chripsy Chreme Chris Christy is not exactly my role model; there's nothing wrong with a little fatire er- Satire.

You're disgusting

I hope you feel the same way if you have ever have a kid who ends up in the hospital from anorexia or cutting or whatever because of people like you. These disorders are not something to be mocked. They're serious. People DIE from them. They're not something they can help, no more than someone who has a physical disease can help it.

"Coddling them"? Yeah, just be mean to people, it's fine because other people are going to be mean to them anyway. Wtf.
