It's over guys. Captain Picard came out against Rand.

Guys I can't fight the GOP, the Federal Reserve, the Illuminati, the shape shifting reptilians and Star Fleet. Not all in the same day.

List of 11 ways Kirk is Better than Picard .....

(11 - 2 from an actual Star Trek shirt my husband owns)

11. Hair!

10. Kirk would personally throw Wesley off his bridge.

9. Kirk would never sing to children in a crisis

8. Kirk wasn't shy about taking his shirt off.

7. Kirk can beat a Klingon bare-handed.

6. Flying leg kick.

5. Kirk doesn't let the doctor tell him what to do.

4. If Kirk finds a strange spinning probe, he blows it up.

3. Kirk never drinks tea, ever.

2. Kirk can beat a Vulcan at chess.

1. Captain Kirk was not a Borg at any time, did not try to assimilate, and does not have a Borg Mentality. (A tip of the hat to SteveMT for #1!)

Set phasers to

rotten tomatoes.

as a huge starwars fan

I never understood why the entire command staff always went on the dangerous missions. In my mind thats what storm troopers and jedi knights (not masters) are for. If I understand it right in the original series the expendable guys always wore the red shirts and in next generation picard always wore red...

Personally I always wanted to see klingons fight storm troopers I can see it now the klingons pull out their knives run at the storm troopers and the troopers stand in disbelief at the idiots running at them with knives one of the faster klingon reaches the storm trooper brings down his knife and it glances off the armer, the storm trooper chuckles and bam bam bam all the klingons are dead.

That said is it any wonder that picard (or whatever his real name is) is against rand? Star trek was a show where utopia happened, every body is happy and everyone has what they want. Except for the guys on the fringe who keep ruining the utopia cause they got guns and keep starting wars. And the feringi cause they want to buy sell and trade. And the klingons because they are proud. The federation should just hurry up and become borgs.

I always wondered the same thing...

Hey this planet looks really dangerous, lets send the Captain and the 1st mate down there!

LOL such an intelligent show ha

and

the head doctor, and the head engineer, and the worf who was head of security. And the one of kind android, and the ship psychologist. am I missing anybody?

guaranteed NONE of those statist monkeys saw Rand's full speech

in question (which prompted the GE's warwhore mouthpiece to go on this 'he's a plagiarist'-BS nonsense, in the first place), before getting on Madcow's logcabin propaganda regurgitation train:

Rand Paul: "What America 'needs' is NOT another Politician. What America needs is a Revival!" - FULL Speech

** Rand's 'liberal' statist moron critics are ALL repeaters of nonsense, regurgitaters of other people's opinions and headlines as if they too all came up with them wholly on their own, in their own minds.

Yet, without an ounce of irony, they're the first to vehemently accuse Rand of plagiarism, when he was merely quoting off wiki movie info, no less, to illustrate the more profound warnings about the dangers of 'normalizing' eugenics; the utter lack of priority and their knee jerk need to 'hate on anyone not them (fascist statist control freak 'liberal')' is while predictable, never ceases to amaze, just how utterly gullible and delusional, they truly are.

Predictions in due Time...

I always liked Kirk better anyway.

.

Google is government.

What he said about Rand is not really bad...

He gave an actor's analogy. A comedian with bad script writers doesn't get very far. Implying Rand needs better speech writers.

Why it blew Jon's mind is because he could readily identify with the analogy, since both he and Patrick work in the acting field, and Jon himself is a comedian relying on good script writers to further his career.

He put Jon in Rand's shoes for a moment. Patrick did not ditch Rand, he ditched Jon's script writers.

Kudos.

nice catch!

That official settles it...

Capt. Mal is now officially >>>> than Capt. Picard

Mal could always beat Picard in a 1 vs 1

Or a political debate. Where ya been, late to the party?

That's to bad...

Most libertarians I know are star trek geeks like myself. I just felt like I got kicked in the gut! Oh we'll!

Rand Paul 2016!

Why should you? He's an

Why should you? He's an actor. They are actually not the characters they portray.

I know

It's like watching your kid grow up and turns out to become an ignorant individual. Shit happens I guess.

I'd like to 'Engage' in a 'Number One' on his face.

get it?

Scum

It never ceases to amaze me how completely disgusting liberals are. No issues.. just personal attacks.

Q could do it, but they'll

Q could do it, but they'll probably only end up "lobbying" him, besides, i hear he doesnt like the idea of obamacare.....something about it being a ...."dow..ngrade" .....or something

True story: I sat right

True story: I sat right behind John de Lancie (Q) in the audience at a presentation of a Shakespearen play (Taming of the Shrew...I think?), but I didn't bother him.

That's not Captain Picard!!

That's the actor that Captain Picard plays in real life.

"he's the dude, PLAYING the

"he's the dude, PLAYING the dude, PRETENDING to be another dude"

Dude it's so obvious

if he's here in this timeline he can't just be all like hi I'm Captain Picard.

HELLO PRIME DIRECTIVE?

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

yeah but......what about that

yeah but......what about that one time......

Call it my latent Irish nationalism if you like, but...

I can't be bothered to give two sh!ts what Patrick Stewart thinks on any topic. The primary reason I loved Star Trek TNG so much was because of the Ferengi and the Romulans, one being portrayed as villains because of their free trade ideals, the other because of their unwavering nationalism and separatism from an obviously utopian socialist league of planets.

If anyone wants some really good Sci-Fi with a more honest political angle, pick up a copy of the Firefly series and the Serenity movie that followed it. There's some real political allegory for you.

“My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday.” - G.K. Chesterton

Firefly was doomed to failure

They had a preacher and a prostitute on the same ship. The preacher was luke warm and had no super powers, and the prostitute was not on hbo. Seriously get rid of those two and it would have lasted another 4 or 5 years.

You didn't see the series, did you?

That show was not cancelled because of any shortcomings in the characters, it was cancelled because Fox didn't want to have a pro-Confederate Sci-Fi parable running on their network. It was the same sort of bizarre P.C. logic that the SPLC goes on when it determines hate groups and absolves itself of the domestic terror incidents that they inspire.

Troll somebody else please, you're not very good at this and my standards are a bit high.

“My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday.” - G.K. Chesterton

The series was on the friday night slot

On fox. So they have to make it family friendly or parents wont let their kids watch it. Having a prostitute makes the whole show not family friendly. And the preacher on the show was just annoying. I liked all the other characters especially the mechanic, and the doctor, and the crazy girl. I believe in one comic book we found out the preacher was some high ranking general or what not that really worked for the resistance. Guess they never got around to making him cool.

Fact of the matter is firefly would have lasted longer if it was on cable instead of national tv. Heck terra nova should still be on tv, but it was too expensive. I imagine 4 million viewers a night for an hour long show with all the special effects firefly had just didnt make it worth it. As I said before putting the prostitute and preacher on the ship was a mistake. Prostitute made it not family friendly and the preacher was annoying. like the magog on andromida. Another scifi series that fox screwed up. Not to mention terminator sara conner chronicles. Actually foxes meddling screwed up all of these shows. Getting bitter now.

Or Babylon 5

Has a huge plotline revolving around revolution from an oppressive and out of touch earth gov. Also Ron Paul supporter and political talk show host Jerry Doyle is a major character as Garibaldi

Best Sci-fi show ever made, and this comes from a trekkie

I know some folks dont like

I know some folks dont like ds9, i did as a child and only after now am i starting to realise the "moral of the stories" being told through this media....not a "this is how things are" but a, "this is how things can and HAVE been"

I give credit to the writers, any and all involved, with the actors doing their performances well

Stargate had a little, but at the time i mostly watched it for the belly laughs i would inevatibly get when o'neals "performing"

I freaking loved firefly, freaking stupid cancellation, "they cant take the sky from me"

Yep, babylon 5 is highly underated, lots of anctedotes in that one, pleasant surprise that one was

Didnt like voyager at all, didnt get into the last one that was cancelled

Seing repeats on the telly of some of my old favorites, im starting to get alot of what i assumed i just must have "white noised" only now am i starting to understand the meaning behind some of them, seing the nature of government as i see it today, understanding the risks of something at the time i hadnt fully realised......these kind of shows, apart from the humour, apart from the explosions, technology, wistfull thinking, i think these shows had no small part in me nurturing, growing and trying to keep an open mind in all things as best as anyone can.....im gratefull for it

This just in, a tory loyalist listening to a Brit on America.

1. You make "Trekkies" look bad.

2. The hell are you listening to a thespian on issues of statesmanship for? Don't be a slave mind to these people. Think for yourself. They know nothing.

3. You disappoint me Jar Jar. The force is not strong with you.
