Bump!

The very last 2 paragraphs really touched my heart!Wow!Thank You for sharing.

(This is where the freedom fight happens. This is where the rubber meets the road. The military cannot fight this fight for us. We need to fight this ourselves.

It is the grossest form of disrespect to the troops to send them to fight and bleed and die “for our freedom” overseas, while we give up our liberty here at home.)

Makes you really sit and think doesn't it?

Christians should not be warmongers! http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance87.html

Amen.

But His kingdom is not of this world.....yet.
His children, already citizens do dwell here, pilgrims, passing through to better things. We, are to abide in Christ Jesus and He in us. He said we would buy swords, but I've yet to read or hear of Him telling us to use them. Rather, the opposite seems to be what He taught, did He not heal the ear cut off by Peter ?
It's a very difficult thing to serve God, self, and the fleshly desire to act in ones own defense must perish: for God, verily Jesus Himself can call to our aid millions of angels in an instant, scripture shows this happening in several places: I leave you to search them out for yourselves.
In a room of different humanity known as libertarians, constitutionalists, and freemen: I am yet different.

God bless

"there shall come after us men whom shall garner great wealth using our system, and having done so shall seek to slam the door of prosperity behind them." George Washington

Interesting concept

Our forefathers did give acknowledgement to that fact in their Declaration of Independence...
However, without George Washington and his men (soldiers) I doubt you and I would be enjoying that freedom today...
Sometimes men do God's work - and sometimes men do the devil's work.

Hm.

Which of the freedoms that Washington and his men fought for DO we still have today? Who is/was more free -- one of the American colonists under British rule, or a modern day American? Compare tax rates, to begin. Civil liberties? Read through the Declaration of Independence and reflect on how the wrongs of that day compare with those of modern American tyranny.

Our great grandfathers won some liberty on the battlefield, and their not-so-great grandchildren pissed it away in the voting booth. Irony: taxation WITH representation doesn't seem to be much of an improvement over taxation without it. Further irony: nowadays "our" soldiers don't keep us free; they only make us more enemies. And insofar as they have been and will be used to "keep us in line," they are the actual enemies of our freedom.

Not comparing

yesteryear soldiers and today's soldiers...
nor the two governments - as you pointed out - the difference is painfully obvious.
The topic is how and from what source freedoms originated.
As I stated earlier - sometimes man (soldiers) serve God - sometimes he (the soldier) serves Satan - even without knowing.
Our freedoms are given by the creator - it is up to man to acknowledge and defend them in response to God's gift - or evil led men will deny and destroy them as did Hitler/Stalin's armies.

Many veterans of today are considered to be "enemies" of the government...might be an interesting turn of events.

A divine truth...

When we deny our divine potential within...
We submit to fate, a false potential without...

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds. - Bob Marley

I don't think you can call that a "truth"

You could call it a thesis.

But, the problem with your little saying is that is presents a false dichotomy, it is fallacious.

I submit that neither one of those exist. I don't have a belief in the divine, but I don't have a belief in fate either, it doesn't exist.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

ok, then substitute

substitute "talents" for "divine potential"
substitute "circumstances" for "fate"

“With laws shall our land be built up, but with lawlessness laid waste.”

Thanks... Based on your perspective, I am curious and ask...

how does the reworded "thesis" below resonate with you now?

"When we deny our creative potential within,
We submit to fate, a false potential without".

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds. - Bob Marley

I don't think that helps

First, you are making the claim that everyone has "creative potential" within (their brain?). I'm not sure that is true. Mostly, because it addresses "potential", which doesn't necessarily exist either. I mean, my finger has the potential to be a knife, but not without removing the flesh and some major reconstruction. But mostly, I don't think you can demonstrate that. How do you show a person with Down's Syndrome has the same "potential" for creativity as brain surgeon?

And, I'm not even sure what that means.

Secondly, you are still using fate, which doesn't exist. That is an old religious idea all the way back to the Egyptians.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Asclepius's picture

Dude! :-) It's a "laconism", not a theory of "everything"!

A "laconism" is a figure of speech in which very few words are used to express an idea. "Creativity" is the ability to produce work that is both novel (i.e., original, unexpected) and appropriate (i.e., useful, adaptive. "Potential" is having the capacity to become or develop into something in the future. For example, the dipole of a battery has the electric "potential" to perform work, such as powering a light or motor. However, if the battery is left unused, the electric "potential" diminishes over time due to entropy, a simple physical form of "fate."

So my laconism was intended to convey some derivative of the following idea: Most humans are born with the "creative potential" to alter their future in novel and adaptive ways. However, if we do not make use of our creative potential "within" as individuals, we become subservient to outside forces of deception, usually represented as a hierarchy of collective human automations or hives working to fulfill a predetermined destruction, be it one of the old Theocracies of Abraham with end time prophecies or the new incarnation of the industrial age, Corporatocracy, with its illusion of "progress" for the "greater good" through consumerism.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds. - Bob Marley

Mostly great stuff....except for the thesis

Most of that was great. But, making the claim that some magic sky father "gives" us freedom is ridiculous. And to go further and make it appear that this sky daddy provides more for Americans than the rest of the world is just.....silly.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

What is silly

Is believing everything came from nothing, like the big bang .. I find that to me the most ridiculous .. How did the eye evolve, how did seperate species like mamals, reptiles, insects all randomly develope flight .. but yet this silly theory is taught in schools and i guess you fell for it

Heres a quote from a Canadian Astronaut Cmdr Chris Hadfield

" its always easier to believe than to understand"

For Freedom!
The World is my country, all mankind is my brethren, to do good is my religion.

Nope. Nice try though

I believe no such thing - not sure why you need to lie about me.

I think you are confused. Evolution is a completely different subject than abiogenesis, which is the beginning of life. Darwin's Theory of Evolution is the explanation of an observable fact - which is evolution of species and forms of life. And, cosmology (as in the big bang) is a different subject than both abiogenesis and evolution.

You need to research the evolution of the eye yourself. If it was designed - then the designer needs a kick in the rear end because they are retarded.

Is there a flying reptile? You also realize that birds, bats, and insects have different wing structures and fly in different ways?

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Whatever Dude

I think you are confused, It is called the religion of Atheists like you .. So i love people like you who throw stones but then stand on NOTHING .. it is pretty pathetic .. so you believe in Aliens is that what created life? .. Oh so Darwin only explained observable fact like variation in species .. Man us Christians knew this all along, here I thought you used Darwins theory to promote the impossible, like a protozoa turning into a Human .. which of course is Ridiculous

I have done the research on the eye, please point outs it flaws and how a monkey like you would make it better?

Wow seriously, so you don't know about the flying dinosaurs, i guess i would expect ignorance form a Atheist

Sheesh...No need to name-call

"It is called the religion of Atheists like you" -- No, it is you who call it a religion. My atheism and evolution have nothing to do with one another. There are many religious people that accept the fact of evolution. Even the Pope back in the 80's told the Catholics that the evidence was overwhelming, they just had to believe that Yahweh put it in motion (and, they could exclude humans).

"So i love people like you who throw stones but then stand on NOTHING" -- I didn't "throw stones", I was merely pointing out a different point of view. You are so sensitive and angry... And, I am not making a claim, so I don't have to "stand on.." anything. You are making a positive claim that there is a creator, it is you that have nothing to stand on, at least nothing that I have ever seen.

"Oh so Darwin only explained observable fact like variation in species" -- No, not "like" variation in species. The theory explains the variations. We know much more now because of DNA and advanced technologies but nothing has contradicted the theory, just added to it. Just as Einstein added to and better explained Newton's Theory of Gravity, but didn't contradict it.

"here I thought you used Darwins theory to promote the impossible, like a protozoa turning into a Human" -- Yes, that is what YOU thought. You are, of course, 100% wrong. And, another lie about me.

"I have done the research on the eye, please point outs it flaws and how a monkey like you would make it better?" -- Nice insult. But, let's see..... How about half the people on earth need glasses? More?... Can't see at night, difficulty seeing in bright sunlight (hence the use of sunglasses), can't see long distances, shallow peripheral vision, glaucoma, common male colorblindness, changing focal point as we age, and I'm sure there are many more if you ask an eye doctor. I think really just the fact that I need to wear contacts is enough. Like I said, retarded.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Funny

I should of known not to argue with idiots. So sky daddy, retarded .. i guess in your world these are not insulting, but i digress

No Atheism IS a religion, maybe you don't ecept that, but it is

BUt this is the funniest part, you don't Believe in God, but yet you have no freakin clue where everything came from and are to afraid to even say what you believe, your not making a claim, which of course you can't because you are clueless .. I am done with fools and your BS

Thanks

Thanks for not addressing my arguments. I win....again.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

What is silly is failure to understand the immense amount

of time over which minute changes occur and are molded by environmental forces.

On a planet where the average temperature is 0 degrees F what effect would that have on the life that could live there? Or 120 degrees F? Or a planet with different gases making up an atmosphere?

I think any scientific theory with some supporting evidence, whether it is the big bang, or something else that might replace it based on even better evidence, will always trump the God theory which is based on virtually no evidence. Gods have throughout history been created by man, not the other way around.

And to be clear, you believe that everything came from nothing also; you just say God came from nothing and then created everything else.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

It's not silly at all

It is not silly at all, rather these people have something that they greatly fear, and that is this....if the Bible is true, then there really is a day of reckoning to come.

Whether we look through a microscope, or a telescope, we see with amazement, a total and undeniable presence of order, much of what we still do not fully understand and never will fully understand all these marvelous things.

When we look at some of those things that man has made such as automobiles, airplanes, submarines, computers etc. we know that non of these things could of by themselves come into existence. They had to be fashioned, planned, designed, implemented with substantive things and in an orderly way. To say that these things could have come from "nothing" if given enough time, is utter and complete foolishness!

They must have a creator who designed these things and then made them accordingly.

With that in mind, how can we even think for a moment, that all this great "order" of all creation of beauty and wonderment that we see around us, and above us, came from "nothing" over a period of billions of years, is sheer and utter foolishness, non-sense, and a willful denial of that which is so clearly seen, with the intent that those who deny this very clear and present evidence of creation can also deny it's very Creator and also deny that great day of judgment that is soon to come!

To all who do so know this, you still have time, (maybe not more than today for some) time to repent and turn unto the Lord and seek His mercy and forgiveness and call upon Him for salvation in the only name under heaven whereby we must be saved, the name of Jesus Christ!

To refuse and keep on your sinful way, it is said "Woe unto you" for you will surely come to utter destruction and ruin and perish in all your sins.

I hope you do not wait another day to seek the salvation of the Lord.

Remember..... Time is short, eternity is not!

" In Thee O Lord do I put my trust " ~ Psalm 31:1~

Why would you conclude that because simplicity evolved into

complexity that it would need to be guided by anything but the nature of very simple forms of energy and the environment that their existence molded and in turn molded them? Natural selection works in economic competition; I presume you understand that since you endorse freedom in economic matters, so why do you deny it exists in all of nature?

I find it interesting that you threaten me with punishment by your magical friend. Now what kind of a creature is that who would punish people for not bowing down and worshiping him or denies his existence? Sounds like some evil, hateful critter to me. And considering that the view that most people have of Gods comes from their experience with parents and other authority figures you must have had a tough experience.

Too bad you are ruled by fear. The way I look at it kids are told the God story, threatened with sever punishment if they question it or don't obey, and then go through their lives living in fear, going often to centers of brainwashing to have their beliefs reinforced and to beg their God for favors. That is not a life I choose.

True Freedom

When a people thumb their nose at the Almighty and have no remorse for their wickedness, He gives them up to themselves as we see world-side suffering of all kinds and all good diminishes, including freedom.

ALL SUFFERING, comes because of sin!

It is man who has defiled this once beautiful earth, not God, and since the very beginning of time it continues to decay and it's darkness grows along with the pain and sorrow and diseases of all kinds for its just reward.

The REAL "freedom" that is ours is one that NOBODY can EVER take nor change and is the freedom from the penalty of our many sins which freedom can ONLY be found in Jesus Christ our Lord.

We who trust the one true living God are free from all our sins and made perfect in Him who delivered us from our sins!

We have been washed in His blood!

Praise the Lord!

We who are His, are the "soldiers of Christ" and we fight a daily spiritual battle along with the physical challenges of each day, and our Commander in Chief is the Most High God who never fails us, nor forsakes us but indwells us with His Spirit to strengthen and to guide. Without Him, we would be not only helpless, but hopeless like the rest of the fallen world.

ONLY those who are His, have this "freedom" and will enjoy forever the yet unseen miriads of unspeakable joys, and we therefore continue to press on with our eyes fixed upon Him who is soon to come and who is to put an end to all this madness, misery, suffering, wickedness, sin and death that has come to be because of the sin of ALL mankind!

People everywhere, (especially those God haters and God deniers)blame Him for all the ills of this life and never give glory and praise for the many blessings He bestows upon all the earth but rather shake their fists at Him, curse Him with blasphemies, spit at the heavens, mock Him with their mortal puny so called intelligence and consider Him powerless to change things. They are gods unto themselves and this world is all they have.... sorry souls are they.

Well, He is going to change things soon, very soon, and the change will be complete destruction of this entire universe that He created by the very Word of His power and then He will create a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness alone and nothing that can defile will enter in.

Stay strong saints of His, and let not the wickedness of this fallen world, nor its devils drag you down.

This world is gone to hell!

"Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might"
"Wait upon the Lord and be of good courage"

Peace

Humans, like the African

Humans, like the African lion, remain free only as long as they are willing and able to kill anyone who tries to cage them. That's what the 2nd amendment is all about.

If one looks at the history of the world, freedom is rare.

I would say God did a piss poor job.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

God gave mankind the ultimate

God gave mankind the ultimate Liberty as in freedom of choice. Mankind chose to rebel against God. Man made his way.

Don't blame God. We were

Don't blame God. We were born with freewill.

And many choose to abuse it

by using it to abuse the rights of others. But there will be dire consequences for that. God pretty much allowed the consequences of our free will actions to fall on us, unless we were willing to come under his covering. He put up with quite a bit in Ahab's day, from the worship of false 'gods', to the persecution of His followers. (I Kings 18:1 -19:21) But when Ahab and Jezebel chose to steal a field belonging to Naboth by setting him up in the LORD's name, (I Kings 21 and 22) God set up some consequences, and carried them out. (all the personal consequences God followed through on) The consequences determined for his sons were delayed due to a sign of sincere repentance. (I Kings 22)

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Looks like Satan is winning

And good people that do nothing are the ones doing a piss poor job
