My name is Dr. Jacob Martin and I am your renewed neighbor here in Riverside, Jacksonville, FL. I was born at St. Vincent's hospital and have been all over the world, only to return home to the USA. I am trying to be patriotic on my return, and perhaps naively believe I might make a difference in our nation and communities. If you think one person can make a difference, please read this letter before you vote.

This year's campaign trail has been an interesting road for anyone who diversifies their media sources. If you haven't had time to pay attention you're missing one of the most exciting and important elections in American history. Concerned citizens have been using the Internet to inform the public of a consistent push by the media for and against particular candidates. Homemade videos on Internet sharing sites, such as Youtube, present the timely progression of these biases in an apparent manner. Without the Internet, I would be completely blind to the bias.

One example of a pervasive bias exposed on the Internet is the constant relegation of Dr. Ron Paul's candidacy for President to a lower or outer edge. Despite hundreds of eloquent speeches during 10 terms in Congress, over 4000 babies delivered as an OB/GYN, five years of military service, and 50 years of marriage, this great American has incomprehensibly been referred to by media sources as: "mentally ill", "crazy", and "on the lunatic fringe."

These terms bother me, but I want to expose a more common tactic which significantly affects voters' decisions. Dr. Paul is often labeled a "long shot", "dark horse", "underdog", or "fringe candidate." However, Dr. Paul raised more money than any other GOP candidate last quarter, consistently wins straw polls, took second place in Nevada, and probably first place in Louisiana several days ago!

Most people do not even know about Ron Paul's top two finishes in Nevada and Louisiana. The many mainstream media magnates continue to omit him from polls, candidate reviews, articles, and debates. If they gave out a dollar during the Florida debates, Ron Paul would have only gotten 7 cents of it. It is a shame that a great American such as Dr. Paul only gets to put a few cents worth during a hour and a half. They continue to excuse him from the news as a "fringe candidate," without any viable evidence for this assertion whatsoever.

Sadly, the media's campaign may be working. As the San Diego Tribune reported, a 56-year-old store manager in New Hampshire said, "I love Ron Paul. He is very factual. He is everything I believe in. But he's not a front-runner. He isn't going to win the presidency."

Are the American people really so shallow that they will vote against what they believe in just so they can vote for the winner? Will Americans allow the media to define who has a "chance" without requiring any evidence for the case?

As it appears that this injustice might continue, I'm writing this letter to ask you for your help. All I'm asking is for you to vote your conscience in the upcoming primary. Don't apply any game theoretic charades purported necessary by the media and some of your neighbors. I'm asking you to use your only real power in this Republic to vote for what you believe in, not who the media thinks will win. The United States of America, the troops, and generations of unborn children deserve and depend on our purely unbiased vote. Ron Paul deserves a chance before you vote.

The DVD and leaflets I'm leaving you were funded by your neighbors in Jacksonville. We aren't trying to bribe you or litter your property, we just want to get the message out because the entire media is unfairly censoring him and trying to control the election.

(The above is something like the original letter I hand delivered to my neighbors with DVDs to canvas. I don't know if my letter packet will work or not, but I wanted to leave my neighborhood voters with the real sense that the media is trying to control this election; which is completely true, amazing, and horrible at the same time.)
