On the 50th Anniversay of His Murder, the Most Eloquent Words on World Peace Ever from JFK

I am the first to admit I cannot watch this, no matter how many times, without feeling a lump in my throat, without feeling viscerally all the possibilities that were lost when they killed him. Is war the natural state of man? Does it HAVE to be this way? After millions of years of evolution are we destined to be always at each others throats?

Then came My President, the last president I would call my president. For if his murder was coup d'etat, then all subsequent presidents are illegitimate, as is the government, until his murder is solved and men prosecuted. And I see the answer is NO. War is now foisted upon us, by evil manipulators who kill with lies. I understand now, Mr. President. It does not have to be this way.

I ask sincerely; has anyone else watched this and shed a tear?

JFK was going to withdraw from Vietnam, and end the Cold War:

Kennedy's Peace Speech

Here (below) is a slightly fuller version of that same speech by President Kennedy.

He speaks about changing our Foreign Policy in pursuit of "World Disarmament", "eliminating War and Arms", and at the very end states boldly that The United States will never start a War on his watch.

This was...

...a great speech with great principles. The one thing that gives me pause, though, is when he mentions 'world law' and working through the UN to achieve the goals of peace. Would that world law have stripped nations of their sovereignty? (Of course, for us who believe in natural law, that is a type of global law, which applies above and beyond what any nation-state might claim or dictate.)

JFK knew the idea of "pre-emptive war" is patently

As always....thank you for your posts.

I agree completely.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Now I wonder if the Berlin Wall would have fallen

...that much sooner had he lived and the Cold War never got off the ground. A hard line on one side always strengthens the hardliners on the other, this is what Neocons can never understand.

"In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility - I welcome it."

"The United States, as the world knows, will never start a war."

My question is, how could one so young be so wise? JFK was

...only 43 when he was elected. Perhaps his lifelong battle with pain and debilitation made him think a lot and become wise beyond his years. Little known that he was a very sickly man. That didn't stop him from swimming miles in the Pacific to save his comrades in WWII. I think he was also our funniest president. When asked how he came to be a war hero he just said "It was involuntary. They sank my boat."

Thanks for sharing

I'm to young to speak with any knowledge on that generation, but the videos I watched after were very telling as to why he was killed. RP would have suffered the same fate and i would bet he fully was aware of that.

Not if I was there to jump in front of him and take the bullet

...and you can take that to the bank, ba-BEE. Now quit worrying and get to work.
