If Rand Paul Wins The GOP Nomination, And Jesse Ventura Runs 3rd Party What Do We Do?

Stand with Rand, that's what we should do.

I love Jesse Ventura, but I love my country more and know that he would ultimately cause the Liberty Movement to fail.

Hillary V. Paul V. Ventura

That would really suck for obvious reasons.

The conservative/libertarian vote would be divided and Hillary would win just like her husband did in 1992.

Plurality Wins in the 1992 Presidential Race: Perot's Contribution to Clinton's Victory

--------- Full article linked above.

Will the GOP throw us a bone and let Rand win the nomination on purpose only to lose the national election by a plurality?

Would Jesse Ventura be stubborn enough to split the ticket?

"2016 is a long ways away."

No it's not! In political terms it's already 2014, which is only 6 weeks away. Come this time next year, the midterm elections will be finished and both parties will be in full presidential campaign mode.

If Rand wins the GOP nomination, I'm voting for him even though my vote won't matter because I live in the communist state of New York.

If Jesse Ventura gets on the ballot in all 50 states and is allowed to debate, we're screwed.

But I'm all for allowing a 3rd party candidate to debate! I don't want to be hypocritical, but I also don't want to see Hillary Clinton standing in the Oval Office.

it isn't about what we will do

It is about what you and I will do. We might do 2 different things and that is alright. BTW, you worry too much. It is almost like all you care about is winning and election rather than winning the hearts and minds. The politicians will follow.

Does anyone even remember

Does anyone even remember 2012? No way will the GOP establishment let Rand have the nomination.

Ross Perot is a good example

that third party runs can succeed. I remember well when he was leading the polls. Had he not screwed it all up, he could have easily won.

I don't think he screwed it up.

I think he, or his family was threatened.

Don't think too far ahead.

Imagine first Rand winning the GOP nomination. That would be a high mountain to climb, especially with all of those warmongering neocons. Next, imagine Jesse getting on the ballot in all 50 states and also somehow getting into the presidential debates. Oh, what a spectacle those debates would be! Rand and Jesse exposing Hilliary's incompetence for all the country to see. Lastly, imagine Jesse getting on the ticket with Rand as Vice President. Hey, since we're imagining here, why not consider that? I know. Jesse wants no part of either major party. Alternatively, imagine Rand not getting the nomination and running as a libertarian with Jesse. Just dreaming now.

Ron Paul 2016!

If McCain is just as old and is talking about running, why can't Ron run again too? I know he might not want to because it is very hard, but somehow I don't think he has ruled it out yet :)

We could win it this time with all of our experience and connections.

i don't know that we could

i don't know that we could win it, but I think we could make establishment cheating obvious to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention. we could also scare the hell out the establishment overlords.

Revel in the national discussion being brought in our direction?

And then hope one of them steps down a couple of weeks before the election.

I like Carson, but he is very bad on the Second Amendment. That will not stand. I'm sure Rand Paul could find a place for him in his administration where Carson's assets would be very valuable.

If we had a bunch of liberty candidates

then it would be a symptom, not a goal. We have a bunch of totalitarian candidates now, and we are fooling ourselves if we think that picking one evil over another is any sort of win. If we had Hillary v. Rand v. Jesse and we ended up with an almost even split but Hillary winning with 34%, then that doesn't mean we have lost the battle. It means we are winning the war. We won't have liberty candidates elected until AFTER we have a paradigm shift. I live in Virginia, and we got McAuliffe, but I consider the fact that we had such a new energized voting population voting for freedom a victory. We can't change the country until after we change our own hearts, and I'm telling you, we can do this! We are doing this! Keep your chin up, and keep the faith.

Stand with Rand

Rand wins the nomination

I will be throwing toga parties, entering every parade, plastering hand made and Rand's campiagn signs, with permission, everywhere I can, calling everyone, writing letters as a GOP Committee person so they get published.. going on the radio, walking door to door, store to store to promote Rand, hope his campaign taps me for district leader and can run his campaign in NW CA.. especially if the Dems nominate Hillary.. it will be a knock down drag out ranting good time fight too. I look forward to it as do many Ron Paul Republicans who were Libertarians and Indys and decided to play hard ball. We are so ready for Preibus and the silencer.. bring 'em on!!!

What if it's a Rand Paul/Ron Paul Presidential Ticket?

What if it's a Rand Paul/Ron Paul Presidential Ticket for 2016?

Quick, make a DP headline of this suggestion. It'll be a most popular. I can't write new threads anymore.

I would vote for it.

The establishment would never let that happen. Ron would be just a heart beat from being commander in chief.

While I do not believe this will happen for a moment.

Let us say it is either Rand vs. Hillary vs. Jesse or Cruz vs etc.

Mind you I am speaking as a proven political expert, having correctly predicted the outcomes of every president race since 1968, except for 2004 (which has proven to have been stolen), in many cases even down to the number of electoral votes each candidate would win.

Jesse hurts Hillary A LOT more than he hurts Rand or Ted Cruz. Jesse is pro-choice, pro social programs and Democrats really don't like Hillary all that much (She is the "banker's candidate"). Jesse would be a LOT harder to marginalize than Gary Johnson or Ron Paul. Moreover, while Jesse is not nearly as brave as he pretends to be, I have no doubt any attempt to do him harm would have deadly consequences to the bankers or the Israeli Lobby, as Jesse once said a single SEAL team could bring this country to its knees and I have NO doubt what he means by that.

Its clear. If Rand wins the

Its clear. If Rand wins the GOP, he's obviously bought off, so the choice is clear: Jesse Ventura.

yeah, that'll work THIS time

LOL I hear you... This time they will count fair!

If FOX News campaigns for a Neo-Con status quo

establishment candidate again, and marginalizes the Liberty candidate like they did the last time, I will promote voting for Hillary in revenge, vote for the Libertarian candidate, or sit out the election just like I did last time.

has no chance and if he doesn't back out when Rand wins than he a chump and I'll know exactly what side he is on.

I like Jesse

as a man but I don't think he is serious about seeking elected office again. I think he is all about publicity for his various TV ventures.

Even if Jesse did get on the ballot...which he won't, Jesse has ZERO chance of actually winning. But even I he did, I would vote for rand anyway.

Jesse Has Ruled Out Running Unless He Is In The Debates

I think that pretty much means he won't run.

But if it came down to it, I would vote for Rand Paul over Jesse Ventura.

Unfortunately Jesse let us down with his statement on Crossfire that he "[doesn't] care how they do it" with respect to health care reform. In other words, he is willing to sell out on the 10th Amendment.

Like so many others it seems he is selective, and supports only those parts of the Bill Of Rights that conform to his political point of view.

"Bipartisan: both parties acting in concert to put both of their hands in your pocket."-Rothbard

That would be awesome

but it would be something the majority of america is not ready for. The ratings would be huge, though, and the effect on the number of people waking up would be great.

you can bet your last dime

that if Rand was the nominee, the republican and democratic party would be more than happy to let Jesse in the debate.

Who is this "we"?

I'm going to vote my conscience.
