America’s Largest Children’s Book Publisher, Scholastic, Erases Israel from the Map in a New Children’s Book!

America’s Largest Children’s Book Publisher, Scholastic, Erases Israel from the Map in a New Children’s Book!

November 13, 2013

The new Scholastic-released Children’s story, “Thea Stilton and the Blue Scarab Hunt,” about modern investigative journalists on a scavenger hunt in Egypt, is causing a bit of a stir in Jerusalem today.
According to The Times of Israel, the kid-friendly map which features most prominently in the book omits Israel’s existence! In-fact, the map shows Israel’s borders consumed by Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The error was first made public after a Canadian Jewish immigrant to Jerusalem found the discrepancy while reading The Blue Scarab Hunt to her son as a bedtime story!

Adina Golombek said she was “shocked” by Israel’s absence because she wanted to show her seven year-old where they were living on the map in his new book.

She told reporters:

“I wanted to show my son where we lived in the Middle East, but it didn’t say Israel on the map; instead it said Jordan… I showed him the problem and drew in the border of where Israel is today.”

There is another country missing,

an even older, more peaceful, poorer, constantly shrinking country. That country would be Palestine. Unless they didn't want to include occupied countries.

LOL Wow what ignorant statement. 5+ votes... all morons, lol!

Ever read a bible? Israel is thousands of years old.

Where did "Palestine" get it's name?

From the Romans who conquered Judea & Samaria, aka Israel, and renamed it "Palestine" after the biblical enemy of the Jews, i.e. the 'Philistines'!!!
It is pronounced Palestine because there is no "p" sound in Arabic, but there is a "ph" sound, hence "Palestine"!!!

It is a ROMAN name for the land of ISRAEL meant as an insult to the Jews!!! There were never PALESTINIANS but there were PHILISTINES, and they were the ancient enemy of the Jewish people!!!!
There are NO MORE Philistines, but there are still JEWS, and ISRAEL was never meant for the Philistines!!!

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

Speaking of ignorant morons, lawmanjed,

only one such as yourself, could make that ridiculous statement. And, by the way, why would you be reading the Bible? Surely you don't use a Bible in synagogue.

"One such as yourself"...?

Meaning me being Jewish?

Don't use a Bible in Synagogue?! You clearly have no clue...
Once again... Have you ever read the Bible/Torah?

Adam & Eve, the Exodus, Noah's Ark, Tower of Babel, Ten Commandments, etc... Sound familiar?

What, did you think the Romans came up with that?

That's the Torah, aka the Old Testament, aka the Bible.

But I am a Messianic Jew, so yes, we read the entire Bible, New Testament included.

And what is "ridiculous" about my above statement? Tell me!
Everything I stated is accurate. The land of Israel has been known as "Israel", homeland of the Jewish people for thousands of years. Undeniable fact. "Palestine" was named by the Romans, named after the Biblical enemy of the Jews, the 'Philistines'. They did this to insult the Jews when they conquered Judea.

Maybe it was based during a

Maybe it was based during a time when Isreal never existed.
Nevermind, they say it was a mistake and have stopped printing the book.

I'm no geography expert

But it doesn't look like any bit of Saudi Arabia is covering where Israel is on that map.

That's cause the liberty news folks are ignorant morons

I'm a geography expert and you're right: the pathetic kid's map shows true Jordan-Saudi Arabian borders.

But the liberty news folks are clearly ignorant, and totally discredit themselves when they make claims about false maps and history. What dimwits!
