Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles fighting for MMJ patients in Washington.

Now if they would overturn the registry issue next. It would just be getting better and better.

* And to woodsman is it a benefit for mmj to grow their own in their house or not..? If you say yes then she is in fact in this instance trying to help mmj patients.. If you say no, then you dont think mmj patients should grow their own.. you think they should buy it from someone and pay the price and the tax. which is not in favor of mmj patients. So in this instance she is in fact helping the average marijuana user.. Now like I said requiring a registry is a mostly bad idea, that should be fixed. Just like not allowing people to grow their own which is what the law says now except she is trying to change that part, which is according to you not helping mmj patients. You can bring up things she did in the past, fine. But in this specific action of hers, she is in fact helping.. So you are in fact wrong.

I am in no way endorsing her.. I think we need a whole new set of politicians, all the way across the board.. her included. but i support her fight to allow people to grow their own without having to pay taxes.

Medical marijuana’s champion

Medical marijuana’s champion in the state Senate, Seattle Democrat Jeanne Kohl-Welles, has dropped a push for a statewide registry of marijuana patients.

The idea was to give patients protections from arrest if they signed up with the state. It was supported by law enforcement and Gov. Chris Gregoire. The medical marijuana industry and some of its advocates supported versions of it as part of a broader bill that Gregoire mostly vetoed, but was always wary of patients’ names going on a list that could be accessed by police.

The registry is dropped from a substitute bill that won tentative support in the Senate Ways and Means Committee, in lieu of a version earlier in the special session that kept the registry. It’s unclear how the change might affect Gregoire’s support for the earlier version.

There’s also a change to where dispensaries — which the bill calls cooperatives and would require to be nonprofits — could locate. QUOTE UNQUOTE From THE NEWS TRIBUNE

So she wanted a registry for patients???And this CHAMPION then backs off of the registry to try to suck up to the Queen Gregoire She was willing to throw medical patient's privacy under the bus with the registry she strongly supported???? Then she flip flopped? Yah great law maker. Such a CHAMPION.

And then if you read it close it says the law would determine where dispensaries can operate. Such freedom. Now that is really standing up for patients, and this here is an example of CHAMPION law making and standing up for MJ patients?

No...these are all examples of the control freaks that have embarrassed the entire movement and have screwed it up for fucking 14 years.

The Progressives are not Champions, nor is this lawmaker. No. They need to get the fuck out of the way because they are a god damn embarrassment to freedom and medical patients and states rights.....and human rights.

SB6265

quote unquote from the Seattle Times

Legislators, still pained by the veto but pressed by cities to fix the mess, are preparing to try again. A hearing is scheduled Wednesday on SB 6265, a bill proposed by medical marijuana's champion in Olympia, Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles, D-Seattle, to legalize nonprofit dispensers and kick regulation to cities.

Wow, she's a champion for medical mj! Wow. and then she kicks the regulation to the cities who have denied access ever since, forcing patients to have to drive from the other end of the state to Seattle or Tacoma because cities like Spokane would not allow it, if not flat out arrest patients as shown earlier in the day of the intent of the 1999 law. So her law making screwed that up. Again, terrible law making right there. Imagine being the caregiver of someone with cancer from 4 hours away having to travel to Seattle for medical marijuana for their spouse and then having to transport. This is of common sense? My ass

And one more thing... Where

And one more thing...

Where was this lawmaker when the Feds were raiding dispensaries in the state, taking inventories, cash, patients records? I never heard her bellowing like the freedom warriors were?

Where was this lawmaker when Governor Gregoire coward down to the Federal Government and vetoed SB 5798????

I call that weak. I call that not standing up for patients or the will of the voters, but playing into politics and going along sheeplike like her entire party that have failed miserably in this law making. I mean it has been an embarrassment to see.

Something as simple as natural herbal medicine for a patient and they can't even get that right. There is no call for praise here. There is great call for public shaming.

More free press for the

More free press for the Liberals in Seattle....Yeahhhhhhhhh

they say she's fighting for MMJ patients in WA.

the right answer is.....she already had her chance, along with her party, and they all failed.....much like Obama and Obamacare!

Let's defend this freedom fighter some more. Let's see more of what a helluva job these Progressives have done.

Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles

Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles (D) is an absolute FAILURE with regards to the issue of medical marijuana. In fact she stands out as one of the major fuck ups of the entire situation in her state.

She, like all the other control freaks, her progressive idiot crowd just want tax and regulate.

Why fund the enemy?

It's not just that, they have screwed around with the issue since 1999 when the will of the voters spoke....for safe access and the compassion to deal with their debilitating condition.

Ask around the circles of Seattle, not the Progressive Left Wing hacks and Statists that just want to control the revenue. You see they want to end medical marijuana industry and force patients to quit growing their own because they don't want to have to compete for the revenue, because the States Liquor Control will obviously be much higher than the compassion of keeping prices low for patients that have obviously high medical costs and have to deal with the complete fuck ups of Obamacare.

She might change with the wind, but she has shown her true colors over the last decade, in her speeches, in her editorials, and in her voting record.

She is not fighting for any patient. She is the problem. Like the entire Left Wing Progressive Group of Dummies in Washington State that have failed as miserably as she has on the entire issue, and that would also entail the local chapter of the ACLU.
