I can't believe how much courage this doctor has.

This doctor is the real deal. Watch and be very excited.

Do your own research

I have had three members of my immediate family who have had cancer. One died from it at 46 years old. I researched a lot of alternative therapies, including Burzynski.

When a person or a family member has a diagnosis of cancer, they tend to be desperate for an effective treatment and are vulnerable to extraordinary claims. I encourage everyone to be skeptical of such claims and do your own research. There are lots of snake oil salesmen out who there are willing to take your money for a "cure." Ask questions and be wary of anyone who resists, particularly if evidence to support such claims is not readily available or has not been replicated by others.

And, if you hear of someone who has cancer or has a family member with cancer, please don't begin suggesting unproved treatments. That doesn't help. Folks with cancer need compassion, support, and understanding, not your prescription for what you think they should be doing.

Again, be skeptical, think for yourself, ask questions, and be wary of anything that sounds too good to be true.

Especially starting at the 1hour 29min mark. Starting about November 2012, mainstream medical journals began to reject articles by Burzynski of his clinical results for peer-review within hours of submission.

Question: If the gatekeepers of mainstream medical literature refuses to publish results for FDA clinical trials, how are FDA-trusting medical professionals supposed to review and confirm what Burzynski reported? How are broader non-medical public supposed to ever read about the research except through the lens of quackery commentators?

The questions (and evidence) of financial motive for big pharma to keep the status quo along with vested interest of hospitals of having all clinical treatments performed in-house (and bill insurance accordingly) rather than allowing the patients to follow the course of treatment at home (per Burzynski protocol) should be enough to get people to pressure the government to allow Burzynski's treatment to be fast track for FDA approval for release to the public in the same vein as Temodar and Avastin, malignant brain cancer treatments which, in contrast to Burzynski treatment, had not shown long-term success nor were required to enter a phase 3 FDA trials.

Refer to 1hour 6min 45sec of the video, a reproduction of a 2006 Pediatric Drugs medical journal table shows how Burzynski's phase 2 clinical trials had some long term (5+ years) success treating brain stem cancers whereas the standard of chemo and/or radiation had no success.

No doubt a number of those who will take the time to research and watch these videos are doing so because they have someone whom they are trying to care for, but the Burzynski case is the primary case for examining corporatism and moral lapse in primary cancer treatment.

I agree with some of what you are saying

but I doubt you have watched the whole movie. Doctor Burzynski's treatment is legit and research has proven that to be true. The research data on certain brain tumors shows much greater effect then conventional therapy and the effect occurs at doses much lower then Dr Burzynski was using in his own clinical setting. The FDA will not allow people to be treated unless they have already been treated conventionally and still the treatment works better then conventional therapy. I agree that many of the alternative therapies are without merit but sounding to good to be true does not mean it is not true. I have seen many patients heal from cancer without conventional therapy. If you do not believe natural therapies are being squashed by the government and conventional doctors then you are living in a dream world. There are a lot of quacks out there and very few people who have the knowledge base to sift through the claims and know what has the potential to be effective. The medical doctors could accomplish sifting through the info and helping their patients make the best decision for them. However, since the medical schools are supported by the drug companies, very few if any courses are offered in natural medicine. It would also be nice if the insurance companies would offer payment for some of the proven therapies.

Well...

I didn't watch any of the movie. I researched Burzynski and others when my brother was dying of cancer. I made up my mind, for my own reasons, not to pursue what Burzynski is doing.

When I was active in the cancer discussions online, I was a vocal critic of the FDA. I knew of cases in which the FDA was keeping effective - or at least promising - therapies from reaching the market. The FDA is responsible for many thousands of needless deaths.

Personally, if a person wants to pursue alternative therapies, be it antineoplastons, essiac tea, coffee enemas, homeopathy, reiki, or whatever, that's fine with me. If there has to be any regulation, and I don't think there should be, Charles Murray's proposal is probably the most sensible. He suggests that new drugs have to pass only Phase I, which is to certify safety, before being marketed. After that, it's between the patient and doctor to decide what to try. Caveat emptor.

Nearly every oncologist I have ever met has been compassionate and wanted the best for his or her patients. It's a tough field of medicine to work in. I suspect some become callous or burned out. But I've met some docs with huge hearts, including some who use holistic approaches. So, I don't buy the conspiratorial idea that "conventional doctors" are trying to suppress alternative therapies. What they are trying to do is to find therapies that have evidence that they work.

Now, if you want to learn about a brilliant, compassionate, and humane physician who bucked the conventional wisdom because he knew was right, learn about Judah Folkman and angiogenesis:

http://amzn.com/0375502440

I could go on at length about endostatin, angiostatin, and 2ME2. But the difference between Dr. Folkman and some others who claim to have effective treatment is that Folkman produced evidence in the form of well-designed, controlled scientific studies that showed that antiangiogenic compounds shrank tumors. In addition, Folkman's research spawned more research and further investigation and a body of supporting literature. And now we see the antiangiogenic compound Avastin being used to treat not only colorectal cancer but also age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness that is also a result of angiogenesis.

When I was researching cancer treatments, I ran into too many alternative treatments for which there were anecdotes, but little or no research, particularly replicating other studies. That's a dead end as far as I'm concerned.

So, if you get cancer, and I hope you never do, you can pursue whatever treatments you think best. We own our own bodies, so it's our own business what we do with them. If I get cancer, and I hope I never do, I will pursue treatments for which there is credible evidence of efficacy. There's too much on the line otherwise. That's my business and my decision.

Please, if you really want to learn about promising cancer treatments, check out Folkman's story. He was a real hero and it's a crime that he didn't receive the Nobel prize in medicine. Countless thousands are alive, thanks to him, or more to come as research into angiogenesis continues.

I watched the entire movie. I

I watched the entire movie. I googled Burzynski and hit the "news" tab after and found this hit piece on him out just 16 hours ago from USA today. He must be having undeniable success for TPTB to be still targeting him this hard. Trying to destroy men like Burzynski with the tactics they are using is a crime on humanity as well as the man. After watching the video and then listening to the news story my ire was struck.
I am surprised by no level of corruption anymore.

Sounds to me like the cancer *industry* is feeling threatened.

I had a similar experience in late Feb 2012. I watched the movie and went to the website looking for news - only to find that the State of Texas had filed ANOTHER petition against him. I couldn't believe it.

"...On April 11, 2012, the Texas Medical Board will try to revoke Dr. Burzynski's medical license, resulting in the closure of his clinic, the abandonment of all his patients, and risking any possibility of Antineoplastons gaining FDA-approval..." By then, too, I'd watched The Rockefellers, the FDA, and the Cancer Industry. I was FURIOUS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sDjcV... But, the website also noted, "This time, they will have the entire world watching, and the entire world fighting back to stop this trial from happening— and that means you. They listed an action plan, and it worked! The case was DISMISSED. http://www.burzynskimovie.com/index.php?option=com_content&v...

It's clear that the FDA is STILL trying to destroy that man. We need to keep spreading awareness via the Burzynski movie (and sequel/see my comment to stillwater, below). And we all need to keep on top of news, reporting when we find something so that action can be taken.

I saw that hit piece too

What a bunch of propaganda! They dedicated a lot of page space to him as well.... He must really be causing them problems! Funny ... They left out 90% of the story, I wonder why.

Hmmmm.... I got a down vote.... I almost thought Delysid missed this one! Lol.. (.. He doesn't like any posts about cures, natural medicine... Or anything that criticizes the medical industrial complex.) :)

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing this...Its new stuff for me.
The Officer giving the Congressional testimony brought me to tears, I felt very sad for his child that had to suffer, his surviving daughter, and him and his wife too. I sure hope he is doing well today.
I am confident that if a Medical Doctor went to the CDC or the FDA and said "Hey guys, I've found a cure for cancer, it's cheap and easy for everyone"....His life would be in danger.
He likely would be labeled a "terrorist" and no one would ever hear from him again.
Sad, but true.
