Rand Paul: 40 Times More People Have Lost Their Insurance In Kentucky Than Signed Up For Obamacare

"What I would say is that what is extraordinary about the Kentucky situation is that 40 times more people have been cancelled than have signed up. 280,000 people have had their insurance cancelled under Obamacare and 7000 have signed up. So the number of cancelled actually dwarfs the number signing up. So if that's a success, I hesitate to see a failure"

280,000 insurance

280,000 insurance cancellations vs. 7,000 sign ups.

"If that's a success I hesitate to see a failure..."

Doesn't take a calculator to figure that one out.

Obama is doing exactly what he intended to do.

He wants the private healthcare sector in America to die and force people in to government dependency.

Rand offers a remedy by suggesting that in order to bring prices down American health insurance companies need more competition.

Competition forces businesses to provide a better product for a lower price.

Obamacare is not providing any competition to the marketplace whatsoever, it's eliminating the competition by mandating insurance coverage that does not make sense - on purpose.

Health insurance companies are losing business. A lot of people are simply going to opt not to buy health insurance coverage and pay the penalty because it's much cheaper, which of course Obama already knew.

Obama wants to bankrupt the entire healthcare industry and force Americans in to their own government system that can be mismanaged and corrupted to oblivion.

Americans used to have a choice regarding their health coverage. Obama took that choice away.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Erin: Senator Paul, Don't you

Erin: Senator Paul, Don't you think you should embrace President Obama's "Yes We Can Turn America Into Detroit" campaign?
Don't you?
Don't you?
Don't you?

Whoa

Erin got fat and ugly since her days on CNBC.

EB was a decent finan. reporter, before she became a CNN witch.

Any independent, intellectual thoughts she possessed have been wiped-away and redacted. She has become another drone, another Borg and not even a very good one.

The media attack reminds of Syria...

Remember how hard the media WAS TRYING TO SELL the war with Syria? Remember how the questioning went? It's like the host doesn't even listen to him. She just keeps trying to SELL OBAMACARE.

Rand claimed FULL OWNERSHIP over this stupid C.U.N.T.

EB was a financial reporter!

HOW does she not understand how high deductible health plans make people RICH not poor?

Your HD plan includes a HSA. Your employer likely puts between $0 and $6500 into that account EVERY YEAR. If they don't, you can put money in, and you get a tax break.

Your deductible is $1,000-$10,000.

OK. So, it taxes maybe a few months, maybe a year, to get enough to cover the deductible. WOW.

The rest of the money that goes in to it... FOREVER... is YOURS. Not the governments! Not an insurers!

AMAZING.

Who are these people declaring bankruptcy BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HIGH DEDUCTIBLE and SAVINGS TO PAY IT? I bet she can't find ONE.

And they all spout off like it's gospel that insurers should cover every papercut someone gets as if that's financially best.

And, if someone really is destitute because they had to pay $5,000 when their employer PUT THAT MONEY INTO A SAVINGS BANK. Maybe... just maybe... they were already destitute. And maybe there are destructive things they are already doing we shouldn't supplement.

And MAYBE they can get their bill lowered. I JUST GOT $5,500 cut from a $7000 bill due to leg work and financial difficulites at the time.

So, I ask, who are these people that are on the street because of a high deductible plan, that includes savings?

LIES.

A Borg doesn't think.

.... only NWO-groupthink is allowed.

do you recognize

This IS THE argument they are making against private health insurance.

That HD plans that do not cover papercuts are killing people?

Please push that the defense of these plans enter the popular vocabulary.

We've seen how RP's push against unconstitutional amendments to the ACA are now popular MSM conversations.

HD plans require a few months to a year of service before all of your CATASTROPHIC medical emergencies for YOUR LIFE are covered.

Think about that for a moment without the MSM bias.

Think about whether or not employers should cover employees CATASTROPHIC emergencies who have worked for them for a few days to a few months.

What if you were the employer who had 50 employees, and one cost you several hundred thousand to several million, and that employee only worked for you for a few months. What if that employee only had to cover $10,000, but, instead, the MSM attacked you for providing that coverage.

Think about where else you can get $5-6k per year. Free. For deductible of $5k if you need it. For COMPOUNDING if you don't. If you don't use your disability insurance.. you don't get to keep that money!

Shameful. We need 30 seconds of education to trump this argument that so many idiots are making. Just because idiots used to talk about finances everyday doesn't make them not idiots.

It takes only 1% of people to bankrupt a health care plan.

About 10 years ago, my employer went to self-insuring for facility. everyone voted in favor of it, and it sounded like a great idea. There were 400 of us. It took just four people to bankrupt the entire system in the first 18 months. Two were preexisting conditions, one was a catastrophic emergency, and one was a newly employed troll who used the system to the max, then quit. Agree with you that it is shameful.

I'm convinced that MSM outlets purposely...

…choose hosts/commentators just stupid enough to make excellent government propagandists.

the lady comes off as crazy

seriously if rand runs for president he should put parts of this interview in a commercial cause it makes all progressives look insane.

All I can say is thank

All I can say is thank goodness the emperor, Nancy Pelosi and MSM collectivists like Erin Burnett are here to explain what a great progressive step forward the ACA is 'cause otherwise, like Rand Paul, I'd have seen it as a poorly thought out and bumblingly executed example of just another coercive government transfer program stealing from one segment of the population to give to another.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

CNN!!

This lady is a wack job. I don't want it!!

And I don't want to pay a fine. Screw your laws

Like talking to

A brick wall.

Yeah, Rand Paul does this

Yeah, Rand Paul does this thing where he just kind of explains things away without really explaining them.

I don't think he really answered her point about people without sufficient care leeching on the system. I get that maybe Rand Paul himself has been able to deal with it. But overall, the system has dealt with it by raising costs. As a physician, he should know this. That is a big reason why healthcare reform was demanded; hospitals and doctors react to patients who cannot pay by forcing the costs on to others. You can't say that "people have been dealing with this issue since the dawn of time". Well, yes, and that is how people dealt with it: force the costs on others.

Secondly, he's making a lot of broad statement about young people, why their care was dropped, what they want, what they could not afford, etc. I would like to see his facts on those.

Thirdly, he is incorrect in that Obama wants people to choose from four plans. It is just that those four plans are available through the exchange, which supposedly leads itself to better competition. You are free to get healthcare from some other place provided it meets the minimum Obama requirements. So Rand Paul is correct in saying that Obama has changed the game; however, he is wrong in saying you only have four options. You have a multitude of options. What you cannot do anymore is get a barebones plan, get injured, not be able to pay, and then force the hospital to break even somewhere else.

If Rand Paul is really serious about "choice" and "freedom" and "anti-coercion", I want him to, seriously speaking:

Bring up the repeal of EMTALA, which is what precedes the use of force in Obamacare.

Less seriously, I'd like for him to push for a repeal of all traffic lights. How dare the government tell you went to start and stop!

Oh, I see...

…you're "free"…"provided".

That's like saying I'm "free" to keep all the fruits of my labor, "provided" I'm willing to go to prison if caught doing so.

It is just like saying you

It is just like saying you are "free" to do whatever you want, unless you kill somebody.

What? These statists are

What? These statists are forcing you via threat of violence to purchase a product for no other reason but you're a human living in the USA. Murdering someone is thus a violation because you take someone's life.
