Barack Obama Omits God while Reciting the Gettysburg Address

And YES Mericka, this is what YOU get when you don't have a CLUE what ISLAM and the Muslim brotherhood are all about!.. A President that does everything in his power to bring this once great country down from the inside out.

Sorry Obama but "WE are still a Christian Nation" and "IN GOD WE STILL TRUST", you have our prayers but that's all!.....

Wake Up America. Obama is no Christian. He is a liar.

( Rewrite )

Here I'll rewrite this topic since I am being marked down. Maybe it was the way I said it but

I don't care if you are Muslim or follow the Islam religion. I was just saying that Obama is changing everything. He obviously did it on purpose. Also, it doesn't say Nation Under Jesus Christ. It says Nation Under God. I am pretty sure Muslims believe in God.

Not at all surprised.

This jackass omits God from his entire life so who is surprised that he wants to omit God from American history.

I blame this on the gop leadership. We promised them they would have this man as president if they screwed with us.

We also promise you hitlery if you want to KEEP screwing us.

Bring on the reLOVEution.

Thanks for the link

plus oned your post

He could have omitted the entire piece...

...of socialist propaganda. The United States was not founded on those principles. Those were the principles used by the colonial revolutionaries to illegally declare independence from England while hoping to attract sympathy from European intellectuals.
The actual purpose, to which, over ten years later, the United States was dedicated, is inscribed in the Preamble to the Constitution.

I haven't read his revision, but I'm guessing, adhering to principle, dear leader would only omit the parts which he deems antithetical to his version of Marxist philosophy.

Separation of Church and state isn't the issue here...

What matters is Obama is revising history.

He is misquoting one of the most significant, well-known speeches in American history.

It is misrepresenting the Truth. It is revisionist history, on the level of a Stalin or Pol Pot or Mao.

Obama and his people are systematically denying the impact G-d has had on American & world history.

Bump +1... all these atheist missionaries...

They will clearly come to Obama's defense, before G-d's.

Nuff said.

But I wouldn't necessarily blame 'Islam'. It's not like the NWO that put Obama in office, is run by Muslims. There are plenty of Muslims involved however, just as there are task-masters and elitist sell-out traitors among all peoples/groups. Yes, the Muslim Brotherhood has been produced by the NWO/PTB. Obama was raised a Muslim but I think he is now beyond any one single Abrahamic religion. His handlers have "introduced him to the Light of Lucifer". I think he thinks he is what Christians refer to as the Anti-Christ.

Radical ideology in Islam is rampant, and it clashes greatly with American culture and liberty ideals, however.

I don't like blaming an entire religion/people for the actions of some within a given group.
That said, the popular ideology among Muslims in most Islamic nations, is not consistent with American liberty.

But there are many Muslims, especially the youth, in countries like Egypt, Turkey, etc., fighting for liberty and their cause should be supported.

It's an issue, that's for sure. But Obama's, and the bigger issue is atheism, and "political correctness" hating on G-d and Christianity/Jesus.

I wonder why

Atheists hate God so much. I've met some really cool Atheists too who got along with me quite well.

I just think some atheists just have something against us Christians.

It is not hate

It is impossible to hate something that doesn't exist. I'm sure we would get along very well, as long as you don't react emotionally if I say something critical of Christianity.

The word "hate" is thrown around by Christians a lot, almost as much as the word "anti-Christian". When someone points out flaws in a claim, or is critical of the actions of our Christian government, they are not being "anti-" anything. I can't tell you how many times just on DP that I have been critical of a claim and been assaulted via bad prose and insults, called names, etc....

And, when someone defends the First Amendment by calling out a state or the federal government for showing preferential treatment to Christians and promoting (hint: establishing) religion - they are not being "anti-Christian" or hateful, they are merely pointing out a flaw or an injustice.

I have nothing "against" you, but I will defend myself and my fellow man. Pointing out that we are committing religious genocide against millions of Muslims because we have an overwhelming Christian majority isn't "hate" - it is just truth.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Positing your premise...

..that I "hate" fictional constructs like Lex Luthor or Mark Duquesne or Yahwe, then I would answer that I hate god because he is a sociopathic mass-murderer, at least. Look at his latest mercy, some four thousand innocents dead at his hand in the Philippines. And that's not counting the millions lost to cancer, diabetes, and mosquitos.

What makes you

think God had anything to do with that?

I bet if you asked God, why he lets diseases go on, murder go on, rape go on, stealing go on, etc.. He would probably say... "that is funny because I was going to ask you the same thing".

Also... you can't be completely sure but their is a possible chance that the high power elites create storms like what happened in the Philippines. I know it sounds hard to believe but it can be possible.

I can't believe I am defending Obama

But, my first response is: "So what?"

I wouldn't say it either, just as I do not say "under (the Christian) god" in the pledge.

Perhaps he doesn't believe in your god or any god. Why should he lie?

The thought that our President must believe in the Christian deity is anti-liberty. And, it is how we get those wonderfully moral presidents like the Bushes who like genocide and world government.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Obama is

an outspoken Christian who claims he believes in a God.

I am more offended that he thinks he can change everything around. He wants to be the different guy and that different guys sucks.

What Assh*le wrote this Diary?

This Country was founded on the principle of escaping religious thought control and brainwashing, and having Freedom from any such State Religion.

Now if you believe in Freedom, that means that all people have the right to embrace any religion of their own personal choice (or none at all), and it matters not what the hell any U.S. President says about it. The Government cannot dictate our religious decisions.

Finally, there is no rule that requires any U.S. President to ever discuss "God" in any speech, or public appearance, or policy summary.

I always hated the fact that Presidents from Reagan onward have felt that they had to end their speeches with the fascist "God bless America" tripe (like sheep).

This implies both that there is consensus about the existence of the man created concept of "God" (which there is not), and also that America is somehow more important that other human beings living in other Countries.

In fact, if "God" did exist he would absolutely hate America. For America is the Country with 900 Military Bases in 130 Countries, and which creates all the Wars, all the coup 'd etat's, the assassinations, and the mass suffering. America is the EVIL EMPIRE that simply kills more people (multiple millions), and creates more violence and brutality ("shock and awe") than any other Country ever conceived on the planet. And we also even have Militarized Outer Space itself.

God would not "bless" this at all (if there was one, which the reality of all the unjust human suffering, and the prosperity of people like Dick Cheney, proves is simply not the case).

A God

is not suppose to hate.

Evidence....

Well...if there is a God, he must certainly hate Iraq right? ... because all those people really got burned, bombed, tortured, and either died horrifying deaths, or now live in abject misery (along with millions of others). All for no reason.

And if you claim that God was not responsible, then why are you bothering to pray to him? He ain't gonna save you anymore than he saved them.

Because when

I prayed and asked for forgiveness, I started to see through all the BS. My life changed dramatically since I accepted God into my life. In a good way. Ron Paul didn't start me off on Freedom, becoming a Christian did. In fact, my religion brought me to Ron Paul and his ideas. At least.. my story

So you hate G-d and America... "God Bless USA" is fascist?!

Why are you on here again?

Does Ron Paul think G-d hates America? That AMERICA is the Evil Empire?!

Haha, this is the problem

Haha, this is the problem with religious fanatics like you. You hear something you don't like, and suddenly that person hates your religion and your country because of it? Really??

"Lighthouses are more useful than churches."- Ben Franklin
"Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise."- James Madison

That is not

true. I don't go around hating people because they disagree with me. I don't even hate the ones down voting my post. Are some religious people uptight? yes they are.Are non believers some times up tight? Yes they are. I am more offended that he thinks he change a speech around.

I would have been upset if he said God and added bubble gum afterwards. Its the fact that he thinks he is dictator and can do what ever he wants.

LOL! You're funny. Did I read his comment wrong? Let's see...

He wrote:

"In fact, if "God" did exist he would absolutely hate America."

"America is the EVIL EMPIRE that simply kills more people (multiple millions), and creates more violence and brutality ("shock and awe") than any other Country ever conceived on the planet."

...So he doesn't hate G-d, and hate America after he wrote THAT?!!!
This is still a RON PAUL website, meaning Pro-AMERICAN liberty, am I wrong?!!! We're not globalists, we're not pacifists, we're Ron Paul supporters. You know, the US Constitution supporter, the American Cogressman? LOL, you liberal turd-burglar!!!
And then you write...

"You hear something you don't like, and suddenly that person hates your religion and your country because of it?"

I never mentioned my religion, so...
And yes, he clearly hates America, as evidenced by him saying America is EVIL and God (would) hates America!!!
BTW, what do mean by "YOUR" country, are you not American also? No? Then STFU!!!!

The Gettysburg Address was a flowery rewrite of the ENTIRE American ideal. I think it's more problematic that the fascist Lincoln invoked God at all in his nonsensical speech.

Idiot

Several versions of the Gettysburg address exist. The president recited one of them that didn't include god. Your idiocy and inaccurate view of the president lets this happen:

Jackass

By definition, the constitution is a piece of paper. It guarantees nothing, as we see everyday. That was my point, nothing else.

I believe in liberty and I don't subscribe to all the baggage your ilk tries to throw in it.

Lets set the record straight.

The issues that are most important to me, and in this order are:

1. Anti-War
2. Ending the War on Drugs
3. Privacy
4. Free Markets

I've always been anti-war. I've always been for ending the war on drugs. I've always been for Privacy. And as of 2008, I've supported mostly unregulated free-markets. I have a democratic background; but I am a libertarian.

Fuck your litmus test!!

Wow! "Idiot" to yourself... big time...

Rachel Maddow & Huffingtonpost is your source?

You're joking right?!

There may have been several drafts but there was only ONE speech given at Gettysburg in 1863 by President Lincoln, aka the famous "Gettysburg Address"... ONLY ONE... 1..... Get it?!

DUH!!! This is plainly obvious!!!

Only a liberal troll trying to revise history would claim there are 'several versions of the Gettysburg Address' and source Huffpost, while calling someone else an idiot...

Idiot...

So you were there and you heard it?

Were you friends with Lincoln too?

What was it like in 1863? Have you talked to historians to set them straight?

My apologies, I didn't know you were there and heard, first hand, what the one and only speech was.

That being said, you may be right. However there are still multiple versions of the speech in text, and we know that, for sure, because we can actually see them. Kinda gives credit when you can see the thing you're arguing about. I know its important for me....obviously not so much for you.

A christian nation you say ?

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims],—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Mohammedan] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
