Barack Obama Omits God while Reciting the Gettysburg Address

And YES Mericka, this is what YOU get when you don't have a CLUE what ISLAM and the Muslim brotherhood are all about!.. A President that does everything in his power to bring this once great country down from the inside out.

Sorry Obama but "WE are still a Christian Nation" and "IN GOD WE STILL TRUST", you have our prayers but that's all!.....

Wake Up America. Obama is no Christian. He is a liar.

( Rewrite )

Here I'll rewrite this topic since I am being marked down. Maybe it was the way I said it but

I don't care if you are Muslim or follow the Islam religion. I was just saying that Obama is changing everything. He obviously did it on purpose. Also, it doesn't say Nation Under Jesus Christ. It says Nation Under God. I am pretty sure Muslims believe in God.

Are you serious?

This Country was built as a Christian Nation. The main focus of Christianity is freedom. I don't see why people have such a problem with it.

What if my aunt had balls? She'd be my uncle...

Using Islam like that is not a proper analogy.

The government is not currently forcing any religion on anyone. Not Christianity, not Islam.

The philosophical, intellectual, mathematical concept of a Singularity, or 'oneness' aka G-d, a universal consciousness, is NOT an expression of religion, but of an idea that our nation is founded on; Universal Morality.

Atheism is indeed anti-religion, not neutral but opposite.

Christianity is routinely

Christianity is routinely taught in public schools -- origins, historical importance, major tenants, etc. The same could be said of Judaism, Islam, and other religions.

I was never

taught Christianity in School.

You were taught many of it's

You were taught many of it's values.

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

Whatever .. Atheism via "Fake science" of evolution is propagated as fact for origins ... creation is not taught as fact .. so for you to put this in the same catergory is ridiculous

Well that was an interesting tangent

Thread: Obama ommitted "God" in speeech
Velveeta: We should omit all religious language from government speeches and laws
Cheese: Oh, so we're all atheist and you think only atheism should be taught in public schools?
Me: history of religions are taught in public schools
Cheese: but they don't teach creationism as fact!

What public school in the US did you attend?

We NEVER learn anything about religious history in school. You might learn the basic history about how each religion existed and influenced history, as it is a major part of world history, but you never learn about the religions themselves, and their beliefs. Not in the curriculum. If anything the curriculum is designed to teach kids that religions lead only to division, wars, and persecution, instead of teaching about how much good faith in G-d has brought the world.

I remember in 8th grade we did a section on comparative religions in social studies, which involved major tenants of each of the major world religions. High-level stuff like the ten commandments, the trinity, transubstantiation vs consubstantiation, etc. for Christianity was certainly part of it. It wasn't like we went through the bible and learned all the stories, but it was fairly comprehensive as part of a world religions curriculum.

Things were more in depth in European history, what with the whole history of Catholicism, the canonization of the bible, the protest revolution, etc.

Did you go to private school?

My mother was one of the social studies teachers in my jr. high and later high school history. It is a pretty good school system, one of the better in the country I believe, in CT. She taught 30 years.

She is confirming on top of my own experience that while basic, broadly significant religious history was covered as I said, like the Ten Commandments, but in depth things even as well-known as the trinity were NOT covered, and certainly not 'transubstantiation, etc.

Did you go to private school maybe?

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

No, I went to public school

No, I went to public school in NJ.

Maybe world religions isn't studied as often in other schools as I previously thought.

Blind faith has limited our intelligence for a couple thousand years now. I think it was designed to do this.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Thats right

There is no such thing as neutrality is there? Evolution is the religion of Athiests and it is destroying our country .. Have you read the declaration of independence or the Constitution .. it does not say we our given our rights from random chance processes .. so if Velveeta wants to change the Constitution he can get the FUCK out

So freedom of religion...

So freedom of religion in the 1st amendment of the "Constitution" means only if it is a known form of Christianity? Once again, Really?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

It is freedom of religion not freedom from religion.
Big difference in meaning.

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

This is just not true

You have imposed a Christian perspective in this. Problem is any religion other than Christianity is defined as "Not a true religion" and those that follow a different faith or lack there of, are ALL considered "unbelievers". No it does not mean that everyone MUST believe in a deity of some sort.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

The constitution does not mention god, a creator, or any religious being, and makes no claim on the source of our rights. So I don't know how you can claim that Velveeta wants to change the constitution.

(Also, before you mention it, the declaration of independence isn't a law)

If only he was a true born

If only he was a true born again Christian like Saint Bush...

Bush a Christian my @$$.

Bush a Christian my @$$.
"You will know them by the fruit they bare"

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

Wait...so what you're telling

Wait...so what you're telling me is that...there is no true Scotsman...

Bush was bad but I don't think he ever bared his fruits ...

One kind of has to bare their fruit before they can use it on the American people no?

Congratulations, not only can you spot a Double entendre, but use one as well.
Unfortunately your English skills may not be super powered enough to spot your theological deficiency.

Can you find the one in the last sentence :)

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

But I wouldn't necessarily blame 'Islam'. It's not like the NWO that put Obama in office, is run by Muslims. There are plenty of Muslims involved however, just as there are task-masters and elitist sell-out traitors among all peoples/groups. Yes, the Muslim Brotherhood has been produced by the NWO/PTB. Obama was raised a Muslim but I think he is now beyond any one single Abrahamic religion. His handlers have "introduced him to the Light of Lucifer". I think he thinks he is what Christians refer to as the Anti-Christ.

Radical ideology in Islam is rampant, and it clashes greatly with American culture and liberty ideals, however.

I don't like blaming an entire religion/people for the actions of some within a given group.
That said, the popular ideology among Muslims in most Islamic nations, is not consistent with American liberty.

But there are many Muslims, especially the youth, in countries like Egypt, Turkey, etc., fighting for liberty and their cause should be supported.

It's an issue, that's for sure. But Obama's, and the bigger issue is atheism, and "political correctness" hating on G-d and Christianity/Jesus.

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

Everything I know about Islam I learned on TV.

Fact is, we took our culture to their homeland and clashed violently in battalions unleashing death on an industrial scale.

Radical Islam is a label meant to demonize.

After Europe collapsed under the weight Imperial Rome the teachings of Mohammed turned the Middle East into a rich culture of traders and merchants.

There are five pillars of Islam. What five ideas promoted economic prosperity?

TV is a poor teacher

There is no radical Islam.
There are those that accept the Koran as truth and attempt to follow it and those who are not Muslims.

The same can be said of Christians there are no Christian extremists.
There are those that except the bible as the word of God, accept Jesus and attempt to follow it.
Then there are those who claim to be Christians and are not.

There are no moderate Muslims/Christians, just those who claim to be and simply are not.

It would be like claiming to be moderately pregnant. You either are or are not.

The problem is that the true Muslim that follows his religious text is told to
"SLAY THE NON MUSLIM where you find them".
The bible on the other hand teaches you to "love your enemy".

I learned about Islam by reading from the Koran, not TV.

Here is where I will agree with you though.
we are pi$$ing Muslims off because we are pi$$ing in there back yards.
We do not belong outside our own borders where not invited.

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

Well, not me.

Everything I know about Islam I first learned from a lifetime of experience. I've learned from some of my friends who were Muslim. The first thing I learned was someone's religion doesn't mean they're really any different than you, nor does it necessarily stop someone from being very cool.
I learned that my Muslim friends parents raised them a little differently... Very strictly, harshly, especially the father. I noticed that.
When I got older I read and learned about the religion itself. I found the Quran full of wise statements, but also a lot of seemingly unwarranted hostility towards Jews and Christians, and all non-Muslims. Like in the Bible, there is much violence perpetrated upon non-believers.
As I saw in what were current events, us invading Iraq, and again, and again, I saw that we seemed to be 'poking the hornets nest' for no good reason. I also saw just how brutal and inhumane Islamic regimes, and the Islamic region of the world can be. The governments are all theocracies, completely corrupt, and tyrannical. No excuse to make it worse, & make their problems our problems, though.
I didn't learn from CNN or Fox. I learned from alternative, objective sources, and my own reasoning.
After 911, it was clear that the NWO wants this war-on-terror/Islam, as an excuse to come after everyone.

That doesn't stop the reality of the violence and brutality and oppression of hardcore Islamic culture from being a reality. Of course you can say that most Muslims get along in peace, so long as it is all Muslims. But that is only if they SUBMIT, and that is the same as the NWO police-state we are trying to stop, in the name of Freedom.

I love Malala because Malala showed me the human beauty of Islam. I have always appreciated Islamic arts and I have never met a muslim that I didn't like.. but I have never met Radical Islam, though what disterbs me most is what I have seen in movies, especially out of Pakistan.. and perhaps why Malala is a hero to me.. it's what radical Islam does to it's own people that breaks my heart.

They have their problems. Most financed with US Aid

There are five copies of the Gettyburg Address

in Lincoln's handwriting. There were drafts, plus he was asked to make an add'l copy. There are slight variations among them, incl. that some do not reference God. The last copy Lincoln made, the only copy he signed and dated and which does say "under God," is on display at the White House and the version reproduced on the walls of the Lincoln Memorial. One can only guess why Pres. Obama chose to use a relatively obscure version.

FYI, here's the Gettysburg Address spoken by Obama, Bush, Bush Sr., Clinton, Carter, and others - a composite.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.

K, this is the Daily Paul, we

K, this is the Daily Paul, we don't give a shit about the tyrant Lincoln and his silly Gettysburg Address.

might not have been that good of a person but the speech is good. What is wrong with the speech? It is about being a free nation under God. You might not be Christian but our God is good and only wants us to be good. What is wrong with being a good person and believing in Freedom?
