Have Daily Paul followers Become Anti-Christian?

I have encountered many people in the freedom movement who reject who are even hostile to us Christians. I notice people persecute me for writing a prayer about asking God. We will lose this battle for the republic without divine providence. Do you agree or do many of you think you can win without God's help or have disdain for us God fearing people. I do not care if a person is a christian or not. Respect the right to worship or not to worship. But there are some mocking us in the movement saying we are the liability.

the truth is we do not have a prayer to win back the republic if we reject divine providence. DO you agree.

but

all three go back further than 200 years, and the same issues, the exact same issues, just different geographical locations.

The difference that I see.. Israel as a Jewish state, is not evangelizing or globalizing. All Israel is doing is trying to have it's space in the world.. where Christians and Muslims fight to take over the world, and both blame and hate the Jews.

I don't see how Israel has much of anything to do with western

And European colonial powers constantly meddling in the region for the past 400 years or more.

And Granger, you do realize that prior to world war 1 there were less than 50,000 Jews living in the entire British protectorate of Palestine, right? They did not factor into the colonial tensions until very recently.

Colonial greed is the root cause of much of the 'hot spots' of contention around the globe. The Suez Canal, Israel/Palestine, the Panama Canal, Kashmir, South Africa these are all a result of competing colonial interests.

You are also confusing Israel with Judaism. Hating Obama does not make you anti-Christian. Hating Netanyahu does not make you anti-semitic. I've told you this before, you still do not understand?

Also, hating Democrats doesn't make you anti-American and hating Likud doesn't make you anti-Israeli.

Do you get it now?

You

You didn't know Columbus was a sephordic Jew? You can call it meddling but being the USA has always had Jews.

Yes, I know that the Jewish population went through several purges, where the population was chased out or slaughtered.. and people moved into their homes and claimed them.. goes back and forth over the centuries.. and in my heart, I know people hate Jews. I did not know that, but today, I suspect a person HATES JEWS and HATES Israel.. and so I am glad the Jews have a home.

I don't agree with you about "colonia greed". I think because people HATE JEWS and have hated Jews since before the exodus, ... break in thought.. I only came to my understanding of Israel around last May.. when the light went on.. and I had an OMG awakening about what is Israel.. I think I have an idea now from being on DP what it is to be a Jew.. and if I was a Jew.. I would not come to DP.. I would say DP is a Jewish HATE group.. my points went from three digits to hovering in the positive single didgets.. I find it AMAZING.. If I was new to DP, I would not side with anyone who was pro-Israel because of the HATE, and I mean profioubnd HATE and Blame put on I*srael and the Jews.

I aooreciciate the secular state of Israel. I wish America was more like Israel.

Obama is MY president. I dobn't hate Obama, I don't agree with his policies. I don't hate Democrats.. I believe their hearts are in the right place.

I think those who say they Hate lukid.. right..

What do you make of this statement: "I LOVE Israel and that's why I want the Jews OUT!"? I hear this too..

I like Lukid because they don't bow to the UN and sign treaties.. they stand for Israel's right to defend the people (whose majority have been IDF)..

Israel has many state-owned or subsidized companies

They are much less free market than America.

I don't know if you've ever watched Seinfeld, but if you do, do you remember Jerry's uncle Leo?

His uncle Leo claimed that anyone who did him wrong was anti-semitic. So people did not take him seriously.

You have to remember the same thing Granger. Personally I liked Ariel Sharon's leadership and I can't stand Netanyahu. I liked Kadima initially under Sharon, but disliked it under Olmert. I like Rabin a lot, I was so-so on Ehud Barak.

I think Netanyahu is the worst leader in Israel's modern history.

If you move to Israel Granger, you have to decide who to vote for. That means you have to be critical of the leaders to decide. You can't be scared to criticize anything an Israeli leader does just because it might get taken the wrong way.

If Olmert is corrupt, then he's corrupt. If Netanyahu is spineless, then he is spineless. It is what it is.

If Mossad says no to an attack on Iran, then they say no. If America refuses to attack Iran, then they refuse. Netanyahu has put himself in an impossible position, and he has no one to blame but himself.

Sure I remember Uncle Leo

And what was great about Seinfeld was how we could all LOL about the Uncle Leos, who are as bad as the people who BLAME Jews for everything (in the name of zionism, Israel, Lukid, etc).

Netanyahu spineless? He has just made a stand against America's policies over Iran. And I think he is doing a fantastic job of leading Israel beyond "sustain".

I'm betting Netanyahu is going to win because Israel does have a free market and is advancing way beyond the rest of the world in production of high tech, plastics, medicine..

Israel's Kibutz is not as popular as they once were, though Israel appears to give the Kibutz a lot of respect and credit for sustaining until real business could be developed as it seems to me that they have moved away from the socialist/communist kibutz model and are now embarking on the Mushav community business model, which yes, the state subsidizes security because most everyone was IDF and expected to take part in defense if and when called back to duty.

But what I'm seeing, and why it's so exiting is that Israel is doing what it can to stimulate business of all sizes, unlike the USA which does what it can to kill business with taxes, regulations and the UN Agenda sustaining for the environment, profitting off people being the problem.. Israel sees people as a solution, not a problem.

War mongering has nothing to

War mongering has nothing to do with religion.

Er... Try "Warmongering has nothing to do with FAITH".

Because it sure seems like it has a bit too much to do with a few organized religions, here and all over the globe.

“It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life.”

Good replies deserve a bump, as well.

I would dare 'propose the theory' that there are two problems with organized religion:

1. That it is not simply organized, but it is bureaucratic. (and in some cases, statist)

2. That it becomes 'religion', (a way to reach God on your own, with rules and regulations getting you there) rather than 'faith', (with the understanding that you cannot reach God on your own, and that Someone needs to pay your 'cover charge' to 'join the party'.) (For the reader who is not sure who, the tagline link will be helpful)

#1 actually is a symptom of #2. When religion or religiosity is the mindset, there is a strong tendency to take a 'holier than thou' attitude, as opposed to a 'but for God's grace, I would be there' attitude. Once one appears better than others, (even if it is simply in one's own eyes) there is a pull toward persecuting those deemed 'inferior'.

This is why Paul continues to remind his hearers that we are not getting in on our merits, (and pounds the point home in both Romans and Galatians) and we stand by grace granted by God.

"Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern." ~~C.S. Lewis
Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Stated beautifully, Libera_me.

Thanks. I could not have put it so well. The best I could do has been "Letter of the Law vs. Spirit of the Law" and hoped that it was understood. The only other thing I could have done would be to go into a longwinded explanation and waste a lot of time and space on a political site where such a comment shouldn't be necessary.

Well done!

Is your problem that of judging others

when you have no business. Best just take care of your own problems.

sovereign

When it comes to taking America to war on lies

That's my problem, yeah it's my business.

How many kids are left fatherless or motherless based on falsified info in the Iraq invasion?

Does Cheney care? Wolfowitz? Abrams? Rice? Bush?

They are war-mongering Christians and Jews. They evidently think the First Commandment doesn't apply to them.

They are the former leaders of our country. Damn right it's my business.

all good points

However, you're operating in a false paradigm; a stage of your own choosing. Eric Arthur Blair would be mortified of your colloquialisms, lack of validation, and sheer inductive reasoning. That being said, it is true that there are nations among us that are being aggressive imperialists in nature, and by religious "purity" in some type of "righteous" cause that actually have the audacity to say that the opposite is true... "Truth is treason in a kingdom of lies..." has never been truer.

It is the pure act of proclaiming that we're all some sort of plumb line for reality and morality. We're not, I can tell you dear nephew. We're not.

"I know what's right!"

"I am wearing the correct wardrobe to gain entrance into heaven!"

"I know all the right things to say!"

"I have just the right amount of usury without punishment from the Master."

Think on these things and get back to me.

Our laws are based on Biblical law, whether we like it or not

Such is the state of history.

While the government has no problem condemning a citizen for taking the life of another...

The government considers itself above the First Commandment.

There is no way around that fact.

If our governments were non-religious this would be a different matter.. But they are religious, in every oath - every speech - in our currency - in our courts - in our holidays.

Even though...

...some here do not see eye-to-eye with me when it comes to my faith in a loving God, I think we still have a lot in common since most of us seem to embrace Natural Law, the Non-Aggression Principle, etc.

As Christ said, the greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor (including enemies) as yourself. I think even atheists and agnostics who are honestly seeking objective Truth and who are still clinging to a sense of overarching guiding principles of Love for others (in the NAP, non-interventionist foreign policy, etc.) are possibly closer in their principles to the spirit of these commandments than some who claim the name 'Christian' yet do not walk in a way that exhibits a desire to genuinely Love others.

I agree with you, though, that ultimately any effort of humanity to succeed is futile if it is not on a trajectory of seeking restored fellowship with the Creator, with Love Himself.

Yet, personally, whatever may come in the short term of this earthly life, or even in the age to come, I am confident that all of us will eventually be drawn to such restoration and reconciliation with Love, through the peace of Christ. Adds a whole new level of joy, as we sing 'Joy to the World', 'Peace on earth; good will to men', etc. this holiday season. All my brothers and sisters here on the Daily Paul are children and heirs of the King, whether they realize it yet or not. And I am thankful for that. :)

Very good thoughts...

however... "I am confident that all of us will..." do what i say, and think how i think, and do what i do... rubbish. I'll do what I do without interference from the likes of those that think they know the answer. "Steer clear from men who induce you to stupidity." I do as I please, on my own stage, and not harm another, nor their property. All the world's indeed a stage, and we but merely players.
...or even in the age to come..." such poppycock and melancholy imaginings. Wake up. Reality speaks stronger than the cries of a kitten.

Thanks...

Are you confident in anything? Does that confidence in your view of reality mean that you are ordering everyone to do as you do, think as you think, or does it just mean that you think that reality will eventually catch up with everyone, regardless of what they thought, did, etc.?

Is your confidence that in the end death will swallow us all up, and that we as persons will all be snuffed out, even if we had some delusional hope?

My confidence is simply the reverse, that all will awake to find they were not snuffed out, that they will continue as Persons on their journeys of development and fulfillment in Love, even if they previously had no such hope.

Both of us have our beliefs and confidences in the nature of reality. Thankfully, we have a lot of overlap in our views of the NAP, etc., despite our differences, and I appreciate that.

some...

Some, not all. I have also noticed there are SOME Christians who reject anyone who is non-Christian. The point of liberty is not to agree, but to unite in our concurrence that we all have the inherent right to live our lives how we choose and believe as we wish. Diversity on the DP is a wonderful thing. Diversity is the bedrock of a free society.

Well, If THEY say YOU are a LIABILITY

Perhaps YOU should have a LOOK in the mirror.

Ya think?

Did you mean

"Have some Daily Paul followers become anti-Christian?"
You should change your title to reflect this. Surely you don't mean ALL Daily Paul followers? Or are you calling yourself anti-Christian as well?

“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.” — Albert Camus

If anything, I have noticed

If anything, I have noticed more christian inclined posts on the DP.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

The first general convention

The first general convention of the Episcopal Church, in 1786, proposed that the Church in the U.S. keep an annual holy day, on the fourth of July, in thanksgiving for the success of our Revolution. (The majority of the delegates would have been Revolutionary War veterans, since the Tories had already left for Canada, and the majority of non-Tories had served the war effort in one way or another.) The Fourth, like Christmas and Thanksgiving Day, gradually was divorced from its original religious purpose, and became a "secular holiday." As an embedded Bible reading for the new holy day, they prescribed Deuteronomy 8, which should pretty much settle the question as to how they felt. No doubt, many will be offended at this reply, affirming that deism/Epicureanism was a major religion among the Revolutionaries (not true), that they wronged the Indians (true), etc. etc. But it does tell you where one group of Revolutionaries thought their freedom came from. I think they were clearly correct.

Daily Paul members

have not become anything. We come here because we agree there should be more of an emphasis on our right to liberty in all regards.

"If you follow the Constitution, you will defend freedom. Freedom brings people together. It allows people to run their lives as they choose, it allows them to practice religion as they choose, it is not confrontational & not antagonistic" ~ Ron Paul

This is what we all should be striving for no matter what our beliefs are.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

First of all, quit hiding behind your religion.

You're not a christian. You just sound like a whiney little kid. Second, the bible says specifically that a nation that is born from the blood of innocents is doomed. Woe unto you. "For they will say on that day, Lord, look at all we have done for you! And He will say to them, Begone, for I do not know thee."

The original poster has made all of 3 initial comments....

at the very beginning. Then nothing, like a hit and run strategy. This thread is a setup for causing only division. As much as I'm stimulated by such an important subject as this, it makes for bad feelings later. This could be a txxxx-planted thread from a 3-month member, imo.

No, SteveMT. I'm sure I was the first one to comment

on this thread. I was trying to prevent another mindless "holy war" on DP. A short dialogue then began between the OP and me and it appeared to me that he understood, felt better, and moved on. That's how I saw it, anyway.

Did you check the profile? Didn't appear to be someone with an agenda. Just someone having a bad day.

you are a moderator for God's sake.

do a little reasearch and it will prevent your ignorance from showing.

The guy posted something and then he had something else to do the rest of the night.

I am not a big fan of the topic, but I think he approached it in an appropriate and thought provoking manner.

Get over it.

And God Bless.

SteveMT's picture

I guess this guy is still pretty busy.

I did do a little research, enough to know that a 3-month member published an inflammatory religious thread accusing us of being anti-Christian. I hope many of us know, including him, that this is not true.

This guy was so in a hurry to put this thread out there that he could not even get his grammar correct. His original title was:
"Has Daily Paul followers Become Anti Christian?" I fixed it for him to help him not appear so ignorant. He hasn't been back to defend his own thread, except for a few initial comments. I then put forward my concerns, and you attack me calling me ignorant while defending him. If ever I need an apologist for doing something similar to this, I shall seek you out.

Bad feelings?

If you're having "bad feelings" about a post, you're not taking into consideration the myriad of emotions of the human condition. Second, if you boil it down to "...nothing, like a hit and run strategy..." for some type of division, you immediately reduce it to some emotional squabble of "... bad feelings later." That's your world, Steve, and it has nothing to do with reality. "Oh, you're just paranoid!" "Wait, does anyone else think I'm paranoid?"

When did common sense become a super power? –Patrick F. Holman

or maybe he had something else to do ...

just a thought.
