That was sick!

I couldn't help staring at cheney; he is the devil for sure. did anyone notice the military personel? They knew he was talking out of his butt!
was anyone thinking about nazi germany while watching that?

America leading by example.

We the people...

I think I almost puked when Bush mentioned the Founders and "We, the people..." The phrase is used all too often with some phony unifying intent, and seems a feeble attempt to justify 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Patriot Act, Homegrown Terrorist Act, tapping our phones (I mean, intercepting Al Qaeda communications). Seems you get to 'We, the people' and forget the rest of the document. Forget the rest of the advice of the Founders. Forget history.
I also found it quite funny how most of the money that Bush urged Congress to approve primarily focused on expenditures outside of our borders.
Also, although Bush seemed to make it through the speech pretty well, the speechwriters ought to know by now that Bush simply doesn't talk like that, and didn't probably understand most of what he said. I wonder if the teleprompter had the speech written phonetically.

I can't watch GW speak!

I may cause harm to my beloved HD TV!

"You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more."

Masters of deception

It is amazing how perfect they make the world sound. You really have to read deep under the meaning to get a hint of the truth and then it is barely discernible. Most people would listen to that and say, "See, everything is ok. You are paranoid. Leave me alone and let me go back to the way I felt before this election cycle started." I am the only person in my circle who sends emails that are alarming or of the wakeup variety. They support Ron Paul, but they do not let it consume them, like it does me. Some get so afraid of the whole thing, they just want me to leave them alone, I can tell. One just cries if I am to blunt. I feel a duty to keep my circle informed, but they don't feel the duty to even watch half of what I send.

Convert people...

I think perhaps you are a little aggressive and eager in your approach. People are naturally apprehensive about bad news and if your delivery compounds that fear you will not get a lot of converts.

Some people honestly do not care that we are enroute to economic serfdom, with armies running around the world conquering third world nations. People don't care that China threatened to use its nuclear arsenal to defend its allies (which ironically include Iran).

Just be calm, accept that many people really don't care. Use peaceful arguments and never slander the "bad guys", just use fact. For example, I wouldn't vote for anyone who does not restore Habeas Corpus. It's that simple....I will vote for that basic 800 year old liberty that was stolen from us.

i know how you feel

i have been trying to inform family and friends. i have converted no one. not one person. i am discouraged that people are closing their eyes to what is going on. i have sent them so much information. i am totally obsessed with this whole thing and everyone i know is going along their merry way. but i can not even imaging going back to the way i used to think - especially after seeing videos like america freedom to fascism and zeitgeist. how can people not care?

I always watch the

I always watch the addresses. I don't see why anyone would be "proud" not to. The primary reason for me to watch is for the reaction shots of the members of Congress. It is comedy gold! :-D

One particularly juicy moment was when Bush talked about the evils of big-government in relation to health care, and the camera shot to Sen. Obama, who was sitting stone-faced. Even Clinton tended to give weak but polite applause to comments that you know she disagrees with, but Obama was having none of it. He is hell-bent on socialized health care, make no bones about it.

I did note something very odd last night in Cheney's body language. Whenever Bush raised a subject which people have accused Cheney of being complicit in, namely the unjustified invasion of Iraq and the attacks of 9/11, his head would move uncomfortably side to side, in feigned rapt attention to the President. Then, the instant Bush would finish the point, Cheney would snap to his feet, with almost catlike dexterity, to begin applauding. On the more mundane applause lines for subjects he's not particularly interested in (e.g., health care), he would fumble to his feet, give a few half-hearted claps, then quickly sit down again. And he didn't pay as close attention to those points, either. His head was in a natural position, sometimes scanning the audience, but no bobble-head movements.

Perhaps I read to much into it, but it was all quite noticeable to me.

When I say (in advance) that I intend to do something (??) or say I intend not to do something (??) and then I follow though with that intent -- I'm PROUD of myself for having made a decision and sticking with it. And that's what I did in this particular case of the SOTUA.

I announced earlier I wasn't going to watch it, and I didn't.

I'm also PROUD of the fact that I woke to the truths of these repeated lies and I personally choose not to hear more of the same old crap. That quick glimpse I got this morning (before shutting off the TV) confirmed my personal choice as being the right choice. The same old crap aimed at those that can't get enough.

Now why in the world someone would say they did watch it and watch it always is beyond me -- especially knowing (in advance) it's going to be GWB telling us the same old lies that he has already told us time and time again. Perhaps you were hoping for something (??) a bit different this time around, is that it.

I told you why: because it's funny.

That's twice I've responded to you after swearing not to, both times because of your own inadequate reading comprehension.

Sorry to say. I watched

Sorry to say. I watched it.
Almost vomited when he mentioned the constitution.
Did he mention that because more people are demaning it or want to hear it??
Then he goes into "trade agreements with Peru" and the Senate said no about signing the FISA bill.

I'm Proud To Say -- I Didn't Watch It

I also turn away from automobile accidents -- I don't wanna see blood and gore and people's missery, and that's what I expected I'd see in the SOTUA. Sorry for the abbreviation, too much to type, otherwise.

I did turn on TV this morning and the first thing I hear is THEM talking about last night, saying how GWB laid into Iran and their uranium enrichment program // car wreck // turn away // turned the damn TV off.

What a jerk!

QUESTION: Did Cindy Sheehan show up again and get thrown out (again) for wearing a T-shirt??????

Oh

You guys missed a great show. It was wonderful. You would think we had the most wonderful democracy in the whole wide world. We are the smartest, most charitable people on the face of the earth. We have wonderful elections, fair and perfect. Our President is happy, laughing and receives thunderous applause from his Congress over and over and over again. Everyone attends, they are polite and beautiful. Not a single problem. They take care of The People. They do the work of The People. They are going to make those tax cuts permanent. What a gift we have in our leadership. I feel so very fortunate to live in the good ol' USA today.

Plano TX

I didn't watch it either

I had no desire to repeatedly throw up. But the full text is available on the white house web site, and I find it far easier and quicker to read it than to listen to queen george recite it.

It's here --> http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/01/20080128-13.... if you care to read it for yourself.

Time to pay up!!!

Ok people...remember this post earlier in this thread yesterday?

Pledge to give $1 to Dr. Paul on keywords
On January 28th, 2008 jokesovergiveba... says:
Pick a keyword from below and pledge to give $1 each time Herr Bush says it:

"Economy" $1
"terrrist" $1
"jobs" $1
"stimulus" $1

Key Phrase BONUS:
"Mises Institute" $100
"I am resigning" $300
"My administration has failed, and I endorse Ron Paul" $priceless

Well, here's the official count
Economy x6 = $6
Terrorist(s) x17 = $17
Jobs x5 = $5
Stimulus x0 = $0
Total donation = $28

Unfortunately, gw didn't have his speech writers include such much looked forward to phrases as 'I am resigning' or 'My administration has failied and I endorse Dr. Paul'. I'd say better luck next time, but seeing as how this was the last time gw and his buddy shotgun dick would stand and issue the state of the empire address, we're all winners anyway.

Zombie Congress

I love how there are like 100 standing ovations when this guy speaks. It's like a bad dream where congress is full of zombies programmed to stand and clap with the push of a button. It's absolutely pathetic and sickening to watch.

couldn't

couldn't watch it all, about half way through, I suddenly had the urge to go throw up. He talks about meaningless things, and lies. We must turn left and right at the same time, up and down together? Knowing what I know, it's as if I was watching a fantasy movie, so about half way through, I felt my head begin to explode, so I said I had better stop it. As one poster said, can you imagine what a state of the union address by Ron Paul would be like?

Well, my fellow Americans, we're no longer ruling the world, we've saved a trillion dollars, and the money we've saved has invigorated our economy, your tax burden is low, and you are free to do as you wish in privacy. You can protect yourselves and your country if need be.

Oh I could go on, but you know the story.

Yep

Watched until about half way through, and I just couldn't take one more minute of it, when he stood there and continued to lie about Iraq.

Previously known as DCALIFANO

Previously known as DCALIFANO

I couldn't watch the whole thing either

I turned my tv off and went for a walk. I couldn't stand to hear anymore lies. Him saying "waiting for the day when Iran is free" was too much. Sounded exactly like what he was saying before we went into Iraq. Iran is the next target for sure. Bush also said something that basically equated to his personal agenda and destiny to conquer the world.

Thank the Lord!

Thank G-d for GWBush! He knows that the Islamofascists hate us because we are free and rich. The sooner we lose our liberty and prosperity, the better! Only then will we be truly safe! And, then, finally, the Fascist-o-islamoes will love us and be our friends!

The Canada-America-Mexico Summit is in April in New Orleans

A perfect symbol of things to be.

Canada-America-Mexico summit rising from the ashes of an American city is the NAU rising from the ashes of an economically destroyed United States.

How blatant can they be.

Maybe Ron Paul could show up

and make a speech. Then, if they say there is no such conspiracy RP could say he was there.
