Day-Long Lockdown & Shelter-in-Place for Whole City - Crank Call or Police Drill?

Yesterday morning, at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday November 26th, a call from a public phone on Yale's main campus reported "a man carrying a long gun", with no further details.

Instantly, New Haven police across the city went into Red Alert mode. SWAT was mobilised. Yale Alert ordered shelter-in-place for all persons on the campus and Hospital, a full mile from the alleged sighting. Schools up to two miles from the alleged sighting were also locked down.

Heavily Armed soldier-cops patrolled the campus for four hours or more. Their patrols extended far beyond the campus perimeter. Inside the campus, Yale police conducted room-by-room searches all day long.

Repeated phone calls from Yale Alert gave status reports. In the late afternoon, my children came home from their elementary school two miles from the alleged sighting with notices reporting the school's automatic lockdown. Three messages gradually lifted the shelter-in-place during the evening. We received a total of ten messages from Yale Alert, the last around 9:00 p.m.

"It now appears that the man the Yale employee saw may have been one of the early responding police officers carrying a rifle," Yale Vice President Linda Koch Lorimer said in a statement posted on Yale's website.

So, was this a case of knee-jerk reaction of a hyper-moronic militaristic idiocracy gone haywire? Or a coordinated police drill designed to test alert and reaction systems? Personally, I feel it was a small version of the Boston Marathon Bombing drill.

yet, were someone to make an

yet, were someone to make an anonymous call, of corruption in government?

Nothing

I guess one needs proof, and the other one doesnt, even when one of them is a much bigger problem then the other.

When those who give the orders are themselves corrupt, their responses will be as corrupt because of the reasons they do them.....

If freedom is not their top proirity then freedom is the first to go, it is the ONLY thing to go, you either have it or you dont, it cannot, should not, be mandated, cherry picked, or subverted, it belongs to no one, and everyone

Drill baby, Drill!!!

That is all...public conditioning.

"a call from a public phone" says it all.

Who would call from a public phone except a prank caller.

In my part of the country

there are no longer payphones, because most people have cell phones.

It was probably a rape phone; Yale's got em every ten feet

It was probably a rape phone; big blue phones with bright lights with a sign that reads, "If you're being raped by drunken Skull & Bones pledges, and want to brag about it to friends and strangers, call here." Yale's got em every ten feet on campus.

A common misconception

The requirement that you give up your freedoms in order to keep you safe.
Should that read..
The requirement that you give up your freedoms in order to keep them safe..from you.

Wait, did I seriously read this right?

""It now appears that the man [the Yale employee] saw may have been one of the early responding police officers carrying a rifle," Yale Vice President Linda Koch Lorimer said in a statement posted on Yale's website."

So you are telling me you now think the guy carrying a long rifle was an officer responding to the call in about a guy carrying a long rifle?

I didn't know the minority report technology that allows us to look into the future was out yet.

Please correct me if I read this wrong, but if I didn't how the hell do they expect this to get by. I know average Americans are dumb, but even they should get this contradiction.

You forgot: these are Yalies! They have unseen powers you and I

You forgot: these are Yalies! Well-bred intellectual elitist world rulers. Like Bill and Hillary, and the Bush boys.

They have unseen powers you and I cannot understand (except their hated enemies at Harvard) and to anyone else, would appear to be moronic and grievous blunders by the inbred and retarded.

I think

this was a planned drill. In Ohio, my son's school did an intruder alert/lock-down drill as well yesterday.

yes sir - drill all the way

It is a challenge to pull back our perspective and take a broad view of the control strategies being deployed all around us. This lock down is just a training exercise, drill, for the LEOs and the citizens.

There is post on the DP about the abuse of industrial meat plants. It is horrific how these animals are treated. We are only a level or two from being treated like these animals in the plants. We are already corralled, ID'd, tracked, and physically abused anytime an LEO feels we are not following orders.

I think it Russel Means who stated if we want to know what the future will look like just look at how the Indians were managed in the 20th century.

If we do not learn to say NO, loudly, often and damn soon we will be treated like animals in industrial meat processing plants. Seriously.
