Another Step Towards American Empire, Run by the IRS...

FATCA is a crazy law that the United States Congress has decided to impose on the entire world. It comes into force in 2014. Basically we’re building a worldwide empire subject to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This law isolates Americans.

This law isolates Americans. It makes people in other countries not to want to trade with us. It may be meant as a restriction to capital flow out. idk, this is just my quick reaction to it.
Fortunately for us, our market is so large we can do fairly well trading among ourselves if we have to and now that we are broke, we maybe would have had to anyway.

Most recently, in 2010, Congress passed the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), which makes it very difficult seemingly criminal for Americans abroad to maintain bank accounts and not with-hold tithe in the country where they live.... and forward their foreign earned income to the IRS.
