We?

We tried? Who is "we"? Certainly not you, or anyone else who had no hand in producing that video.

I'll give her credit for trying, albeit in a completely naive way. She wants to replace the criminal justice system with increased officer discretion, which has been a popular idea... Never?

Intelligent people want increased accountability, documentation, oversight, etc. They understand that you are going to get the good with the bad. They also understand that individuals are found guilty by a group of their peers and will have the aid of a defense lawyer if they so choose. The last thing they want is for officers to start playing judge and jury based on their personal beliefs.

Honest cops don't care if you don't like the law. When they are called to testify they will tell the truth about what they observed, who said what and why they took the actions they did. If a jury says that it doesn't constitute a crime or can't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, they accept the decision.

"Honest cops don't care if

"Honest cops don't care if you don't like the law."

A honest cop would not enforce an unjust law, he would use his brain to decide if smoking a leaf or jaywalking is really going to destroy the world. The worst part is that jaywalking could end up with that person being killed if he resisted the thugs demands. The laws you enforce are not sacred creeds that you have to follow blindly, they are usually made by a person just like you to enrich certain individuals or stop people from doing something they don't like.

" When they are called to testify they will tell the truth about what they observed, who said what and why they took the actions they did."

I've been to your revenue gathering kangaroo courts, you and the judge are in cahoots to generate as much revenue as possible and it's always my word against the so called honest officer of the law who would never lie to get my $300 bucks.

"If a jury says that it doesn't constitute a crime or can't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, they accept the decision."

Do you have to use someone else's brain to determine if something is a crime? Do you know much time is wasted by going to court for something stupid? You get paid to go to court, I don't, it's makes no difference to you whether you're in court or beating up some citizen who didn't obey your commands.

Good with the Bad? America doesn't need Cops at all...

"A well regulated MILITIA being NECESSARY to the SECURITY of a FREE state, the right to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS shall NOT be infringed."

Does the US Constitution say anything about creating a separate group of people granted greater authority and more rights than other citizens, in order to enforce unpopular laws passed by government(s) that often violate the Constitution itself? No.

Cops, and their personal decisions to enforce unjust, unconstitutional laws, just because their 'superiors' tell them to, are one of the major reasons our Republic is so corrupt, and on the brink of collapse into authoritarian collectivism.

In America, based on the Constitution, The People were meant to be the enforcers of the Law upon themselves, thereby preventing unpopular laws from being enforced. Your Praetorian Guard / Constable on Patrol system, is what Monarchies like England, and the Roman empire employed, to keep the ruling class ruling over their subjects.

Please, go ahead and explain to your fellow Americans why our Constitution just can't work, is just utopian fantasy reserved for radicals and extremists, and why we just need to continue to employ your highly corruptible, tyrannical system where we accept a little good with lots of bad...

Corruption in cities like NYC in the early 20th century, is what led to the early American 'police forces' being created. Before that, the closest thing we had to cops were the local Sheriffs.
Sheriffs are perfectly constitutional. Sheriffs were/are elected by the people, and then the Sheriff would deputize citizens when needed.

I suggest you check out a thread I started here on DP, lemme know what you think...

I think...

that its lame that you have resorted to pumping your own thread. I also think that you would rather talk about your dream society online than create it in real life. There is nothing stopping you from creating an association that trains in self-defense and citizens arrests.

In the 2 months since you made that thread, and however long it has actually been since you started thinking about that idea, what have you done in the real world to make it happen? Have you broken out of your circle of friends? Have you held a public meeting? Have you gone door to door recruiting?

I think it's lame you've resorted to trolling the internet...

Did you actually read the OP of the thread?
It's called 'bumping', not pumping, and I merely provided you a link to a relevant thread, that countered your point that "intelligent people understand... you take the good with the bad." Sharing and providing information and different viewpoints is the whole point of the DP. Linking to other threads is s.o.p.

What I do in my life is my business but my "dream" of a just society where public officials and civil servants stay within the bounds of the Constitution is the Law of the land, and you seem to be in denial of that, and the same mentality seems to be shared by too many cops.

You ask me what have I 'done in the real world'. As I've said that is my business, but another question is what haven't I done? I've never shot anyone's dog. I've never put someone in a cage for using one kind of medicine versus another. Come to think of it I've never put anyone in a cage for anything. I've never even forced medical sodomy upon anyone, not even if I thought they might be guilty of harboring illegal contraband in their colon.
Oh but, you're right about the door-to-door thing. Surely my door-to-door skills are not as sharply honed as yours... "Open up our we'll bust the door in and then shoot your dog..."

Unlike your system, its not as simple as knocking in doors and forcing and coercing people at gunpoint to adopt your political system.
It is a voluntary system. And people are always invested in their safety, individually and collectively, one way or another. The Founders way, the way I'm describing, provides maximum individual liberty. Yours does not. Control is the main objective in your system, not the protection of maximum possible individual liberty for all individuals, as described in the constitution.

Which reminds me, you completely ignored every single point I made, including the Constitution demanding well regulated militias as necessary for the security of (a) free state(s), NOT police departments...

...In the thread I provided you a link to, which you've criticized, I provide practical implementable ways in which a Constitutional form of security and 'law enforcement' may be regulated. Your job of course, would be obsolete.
Question: If that "dream" society mandated by the constitution were to be presented as described in my thread, as a very real political possibility in your local area, would you support this constitutional system, the good and the bad (which you have now, only this time would be constitutional)?...Or would you still side with keeping your current job and position, based on arguments you already made?
Your answer may indict YOU as the Outlaw...

Well spoken I sent it to my local police chief asking for an answer.

here is a copy of my email

Hello,
Let me introduce myself my name is Matt Schutter, and I am the Chair of the Libertarian Party of the Lehigh Valley. Our chapter covers Carbon, Lehigh, and Monroe Counties. I came across a video that explains our concerns with the role of law enforcement and the constitutional role. I would like to have your officers and you look at the video and respond to me with your answer.

Here is the link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOsN-P5abVg#t=159

I think it would be awesome

if we had a huge surge in 'Liberty folks', across the nation, joining their local police force.... and then refusing to obey unconstitutional orders! That would put a wrench in the system for sure!
